The Castle Hotel was an excellent hotel. Great location. On Arrival, we were greeted by Samantha on reception, who checked us in, very polite and welcoming. When I asked about booking breakfast, to that she replied to ask about it I the morning, as she wasn't sure about the price. . To our surprise, she then showed us where breakfast would be held and said, just go down in the morning and have breakfast on her. Which was so kind of her.. the hotel itself was very charming and spotless. The room was also very nice and cosy. We had room number 6. On the 1st floor.. lovey comfy bed, mirrored wardrobe , dressing table with tea making facilities. The onsuit was also spotless. The noise was minimal considering there was a wedding going on . Breakfast was very nice. Full English help yourself Buffet. With a choice of cereal and toast.. we will definitely book again, and we will give it 10/10 . Thank you for a wonderful stay. Highly recommend.

Nothing

There was nothing not to like at this hotel. Son and daughter in law had their wedding reception here this week and nothing was too much trouble. Staff were all very friendly and did a good job. The young staff on silver service were a credit to the hotel. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Food was very good and plenty of it from the wedding breakfast to the actual breakfast. Loved the fact that it was an 11am checkout so you didn't feel rushed. The staff even went to the trouble of sorting a way for some of the guests to be able to watch the Villa game as they didn't have the relevant Sky TV channel, they could have quite easily just said sorry but can't be done. Would highly recommend this hotel to host a wedding reception.

Absolutely nothing.

The bed was very comfortable, the room and bathroom were a lot bigger and than I had expected. The bathroom was lovely, had a big bath and shower, even had a stand for wine/champagne. Desk area in the room was good also. If I go back to Tamworth, I would definitely stay in this hotel again. All very clean also.

The website said the bar would be open, it was one of the reasons I booked, but it was closed when we went. Not the end of the world, but was worth noting that it wasn't available unless you booked it.

The property is situated in a central location, what made my stay was how friendly the staff were, from the moment I arrived they bent over backwards to help in anyway they could. I’ve stayed in many chain hotels and they do not compare to the staff here.

The only thing and it is a dislike. The properties interior could do with a bit of a revamp.

Central location. Parking in close-by public car park. great welcome by Aaron. Warm room and good bed. Lovely clean sheets and plenty of tea and coffee etc in the room. Iron and board + hairdryer. All in all a good stay although the hotel gives you the feeling it is a little tired (the hotel is old though). the wedge wood conference room is beautiful (we had our wedding reception in the wedgewood room 45 years ago!)

Kind, friendly staff that had excellent suggestions about local food and attractions. The hotel is located within the same block as the Castle, so was perfect for an evening stroll to explore the surrounding grounds.

The room was a bit small, and the tankless water heater never truly heated up (thus a lukewarm shower). Other than that, great experience!

Clean room close to castle and town .. was there for friends wedding staff couldn't do enough . Food great well pleased thanks

Car park was short stay and had to park at other hotel down the road which only had 12hr parking but not 24hrs so had to go back at 22.00 to put another 12hrs on car as app didn't work ..

Clean warm cosy rooms and pet friendly. The staff were friendly and let us get on with things, front door fob so could come and go easily with no time constraints. Perfect location for the snow dome and park right near the castle.

No hotel restaurant or bar

Close to town centre. Very reasonable price. Very friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable bed.

Some areas needed redecorating and upgrading. No breakfast available. No on site parking. Disabled guests may find it difficult to negotiate the different levels and stairs.

Lots of space in the welcoming room. High comfort with great hygiene. A kettle with tea making facilities always appreciated. Always stay here for the town centre location.

Mattress was lumpy but I can live with that.
