It was clean, the staff were friendly and the location was good

Think the last person in the room was a smoker and the smell was still very much in the air. The Room Facilities description said 'Entire unit located on ground floor' and 'Dining area' also it implied the room had a Terrace. None of these were there so it was a bit disappointing. Also from the room to the bathroom the floor was not level (and quite dangerous) and without putting the light on in the night it would be very easy to fall down and break your leg. The shower was a hand-held shower with not much water power.

Loved the size of the room and that there were doors that opened to the courtyard and a couple of chairs outside to sit and enjoy the sunshine. Staff very friendly. Huge super comfy bed, decent over the bath shower. Pots of tea for breakfast, plenty of toast/cereal.

For the continental breakfast, it would have been nice to have more fresh fruit options (only apples available for our stay) and some sort of pastries. Personally not a fan of the vegetarian sausages that are comprised of vegetables for breakfast - prefer the "fake meat" style. Fruit juice tasted overly sweet like a "juice drink" rather than pure juice. But that's just our personal tastes!

The bed and pillows were comfortable and warm. We had terrace doors onto the courtyard, which was perfect. We had thick curtains, the room & bathroom were spacious and were clean. The staff were all very friendly, helpful and kind! The location and grounds were beautiful and quiet! Breakfast came quickly and was delicious.

The draw knob came off of one draw, and the front came off another, but we fixed it. There was no handle on the terrace door, so it wasn't convenient to shut but not impossible. Although, we went out the terrace door and accidentally shut it and couldn't get back in, but luckily, there was a cleaner around that let us back in, so it was quite funny :)

We were allocated a very good room for the 2 days that we stayed. the room was spacious and clean. Bathroom was a bit dated and the shower was a little temprimental otherwise everything else was fine. The hotel was ideally situated for my work location. Staff were friendly and helpful. Overall good value for money

The shower in the bathroom was difficult to operate and could do with regulating as the temperature control was poor. The hotel itself in places look really good and is clean and tidy, however there are areas on the ground floor near the courtyard that need attention. The tennis court is no longer useable and is looking really poor as is some of the grounds around the hotel.

We had a very pleasant short stay here, it was much quieter than we expected being close to the M42 and it was perfect for us to bring our dog. The Hotel is in need of some modernisation but with the hospitality industry struggling at the moment I imagine that will come eventually. We had lovely walks along the Fazeley Canal, there was a quaint Pub, the Dog & Doublet, nearby and Kingsbury Water parks were within easy walking distance. The Hotel itself was really good value for money although it is looking it's age however this didn't spoil our stay at all and all of the Staff were very friendly and helpful.

The only issue we found was the shower which took an age to warm up and wasn't very powerful but it did get there eventually, I would suggest it's probably wasting a lot of water and energy in it's current state and definitely needs an upgrade.

A fantastic stop over location, convenient for our drive from North to South West to break up the journey as we were plagued with hold ups. We were late arriving but the reception couldn't have been any more welcoming offering food and drink as well as the keys for the room. The room was lovely, very independent decoration that gave a feeling of grandeur and huge double bed. an ensuite bath/shower, towels and shower gel, hand wash and moisturiser. Parking is right outside and umbrella's to use if staying ang going walking. I generally stay in more commercial premises so this was a real treat, individual and a real find. It was very comfortable and quiet while convenient for the motorway. It's unfortunate that we were late arriving so too tired to take advantage of the bar and restaurant but from what I saw I would definitely stay again. I was amazed at the quality for the low cost.

Nothing it was great

We were very happy with the setting, the size of the room, the friendliness of the staff and we enjoyed our stay a lot. We found the bed very comfortable. The housekeeping staff were very helpful and put food in their fridge and freezer for us. We enjoyed our breakfast.and it was nice sitting in the courtyard garden.

The information in the rooms was out of date, but we mentioned this to staff, and this is very likely to be solved already.

The bed was big and comfy. The breakfast was nice but a little rushed, limited continental breakfast, followed by portioned full English, I would of preferred 2 of each, bacon and sausage. Evening meal on second night we stayed was outstanding. The hotel generally is really cute and located beautifully, if you like peace and tranquillity, very close to the amazing wilderness of Broomey croft nature reserve and canal side Dog and doublet pub. The grounds generally at the hotel will grace your stay with bird Song, I like that and my wife and I would gladly stay there again when visiting relatives in Birmingham.

All a bit of a rush at breakfast, drive upto hotel needs pot holes fixing, and car parking might benefit from some serious TLC. Courtyard was cute, although looked a bit miserable in rain, no shelter for smokers, and vapers. Tables for two are on the Small size, and I really do not like over Bath showers and shower curtains, being a little on the big side in stature, but hey - ho, there was not too much too dislike at this hotel.

The food in general was really excellent, barring 1 starter and 1 dessert. The lamb shank was fantastic, as well as the fish bass which was pan fried to perfection and wonderfully crispy. The room was clean and characterful. The bed was super comfortable with crisp clean sheets provided.

There was a calamari starter for dinner which was quite poor with most of it being the bread coating and a stodgy "fishy-like" filling. The sticky-toffee pudding was probably the worst of all the food items we tried. Something surely must have gone wrong in its creation, as the granular texture of the cake was so unpleasant we couldn't finish it.

Both breakfast and dinner were very good. Cooked well and enjoyable. Generous servings and a good range of options. Helpful and friendly staff.

Could have been just a tad warmer in the bedroom but everywhere was comfortable and I had everything I needed. In the dark I wasn't quite clear where I was going even with satnav, I ended up in the car park of the next door pub! Maybe a sign at the corner of where you turn into Dog Lane off Bodymoor Heath Road would help reassure the traveller that they are on the right road.
