There is nothing not to like about this place. Alison is a fantastic host, she allowed us to check in early and could not have been nicer to me and my partner, who doesn't speak much English, over breakfast the next day (which was really nice). The location is superb, the village itself is really interesting and there are some fantastic places a short drive away, eg Brentnor church. The village is also convenient for Tavistock and Okehampton.

Nothing really. The attic room meant I had to duck my head a bit - I am six foot one - but this added to the charm. The location is REALLY quiet and relaxing.

Angela was a fantastic host and made me very welcome whilst staying in her home . Nothing was too much trouble. I stayed in the attic room which was described very well on booking info. It catered for everything I needed. Bed was so comfy, the on-suite meet my expectations too . Tea , coffee etc all to hand, and Free access to WiFi . Access road narrow, so not good for large vehicles . Parking was OK . Breakfast was brilliant. So much choice and beautifully cooked. Definately would stay again and have recommended on trustpilot.

Rooms were very well appointed with breath taking views across fields to Dartmoor it is a peaceful and idyllic spot. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms were a good size; they were very clean and had a homely feel. There were plenty of plug sockets, a TV and tea and coffee making facilities which we took advantage of. There was plenty of storage, although we didn't need this as we only stayed 1 night as we were attending a wedding. The bathroom was spacious with a shower over the bath. We all took a shower in the morning and there was plenty of hot water. Toiletries were provided. There was free WiFi also. The room felt secure as there was a yale lock and we had a key for each room. We were able to park our car easily and the instructions given via text prior to our arrival, by Angela, were extensive we used Google Maps as our navigation and found the property easily. We arranged our breakfast the day before. Angela was extremely welcoming and friendly, a perfect hostess. Breakfast was amazing - full English with a choice of egg types; juice, tea, coffee, toast, cereals, jams - you name it it was on offer - most delicious.

*1st visit* The host was welcoming, friendly and accommodating. She never pressured or rushed us. She was willing have a little chat and was like we have known her for years. The location was peaceful and away from the main road. The property was clean and homely with personal touches. Bedroom was clean, with lovely views, well equipped with drinking glasses and also had personal touches, bed was extremely comfy, en-suite was big and clean with a bath and shower. For breakfast in the morning there was lots of choice: cereal, fruit, yogurt, full English with a choice of eggs… and was delicious. The thing that swung my choice between this property and another was that this property have peahens (peacocks) which is something unusual and quirky but being an animal lover this won it for me :) we will be recommending and we will be coming back again. Thank you for your hospitality.

Could not find any faults

Angela is super friendly, and if she’s with the animals at the farm will make sure you still can get in and out easily. The family room as well as the living/breakfast room are spacious and the view from in particular the bathroom over the fields is very nice.

Although the village is nearby (400 m?) you need to walk around (1500 m?). I didn’t mind, as you will hardly have trafic on the road but just keep it in mind. Shower needs a minute to heat up but it will be nice and warm!

Angela was a very hospitalbe, welcoming and helpful host. She gave us great tips for places to visit and things to do. Her cooked breakfast was delicious, and there was additionally a great variation of cereals, yoghurts, and fruit. The room and bathroom were cosy and clean, and we instantly felt at home. Heathergate Cottage was easily reachable by car and is located in a calm, relaxing region close to the beautiful Dartmoor.

This is part of a working farmhouse converted into part BnB. The room was comfortable. Bed was soft. Cooked breakfast and cereal, fairly standard fayre. The proprietor was friendly and welcoming. Access is via a C class road and farm track but is concreted outside the house area so the car didn't get stuck. Views from the farmhouse are exceptional with little sign of other buildings distracting the countryside.

Nothing really to dislike but remember this is a working farm before booking, it is not in town

We were really pleased with the choice of BnB. We had two dogs and a 7 year old. We had asked for an extra bed and instead we were upgraded to the family room which was very spacious and had an ensuite bathroom too. The lady was lovely and very helpful she told us about the area and seemed to really want to go above and beyond. She let us leave later and cooked a breakfast to our timings and needs: no mean feat as a vegetarian and fussy child too and we had it a bit later than normal breakfast too! It is a farm so there are sone lovely walks nearby and some great pubs and landmarks to visit.

We couldn't find a bin to put the poo bags in!

Angela was the most welcoming host. Was asked every morning what time we would like our breakfast. While we waited cereal fruit and yoghurt were all available. The rooms were perfect just what you need from a room and perfectly cleaned whenever we returned from our day trips. Anegla offered restaurant ideas every day for us and wrote them down on a piece of paper so we wouldn't forget. We would gladly return to stay here and by the end of our 4 nights we felt like it was a family home . Very grateful to Angela and looking forward to booking again
