We loved every aspect about the place. We had most of our interactions with Bruce, Marco and Wonderful and were treated better than royalty. They were engaging and super hospitable. The food is delicious , well portioned and well worth skipping going anywhere else for. We stayed in the honeymoon suite for 4 nights and, after a day out, would come back to a roaring fire and candles. The room and surroundings is something out of a fairytale - big open windows with nothing but the forest guarding your privacy. Being right next to Monkeyland, ensured being woken up with the Gibbon's calls echoing through the forest.

The location is in the middle of the jungle. The breakfast and dinner area are centrally located and can be accessed easily from every room. The rooms are spacious and have a separate bowl bathroom however, without a full door in our case. The staff was super helpful and very kind. We had booked dinner for one of our nights there, and it was delicious and filling. One thing to mention on arrival as there are other reviews here: driving to the location is easy, safe and without worries. For the last couple hundred meters it is a gravel road which can be managed by any and every car. Would come again!

Beautiful setting and the staff were extremely friendly. Lovely place. Food was delicious and staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Enjoyed our stay alot. Fireplace every evening with electric blankets and comfy bed was great for chilly nights. Spa experience was lovely - jacuzzi and sauna package with a platter. Very nice experience.

Probably wouldn't have gone for the celebratory package in terms of value for money - however only a small complaint and everything else was exceptional. No door to the bathroom which is a bit awkward on a romantic getaway.

I can't speak highly enough about this place! It started before we even arrived with a lovely pre-welcome message and helpful video on getting to the venue. The staff are amazing, so friendly & helpful. We had the Spa experience which was exceptional. The food was excellent. Honestly, there is not one even remotely negative thing to say about Trogon House. If you get a chance to stay here, take it... and go and see the Elephants & Monkeys next door - also amazing!! 🤩🤩🤩

A hidden gem! The drive up is extremely misleading, this is a true secluded jungle experience with open 360 views from the room. We booked a spa experience which was private and romantic. All meals we had in house were delicious, and they catered for Vegetarian dietary requirements. A great location in the heart of the Garden Route!

They don't have blinds in the room we stayed in - which can be a good or bad thing depending on your sense of adventure

Beautiful property nicely decorated. Nice deck with pool where you can have dinner and breakfast outside if the weather is good. Good sized room. Possibility to have dinner in the hotel which we absolutely recommend, we did this 2 of our 3 nights and had 2 very good dinners! What made our stay extra nice is the amazing staff. Everyone was very friendly and very attentive.

The horrible road driving up to the hotel and the bad WiFi. We were also disappointed by the breakfast which was exactly the same every morning. We would’ve liked some different kinds of bread and some cheeses/meat.

Beautifully decorated bedroom (number 4) with a view on the forest. Extremely quiet. The main shared areas (pool, lounge, dining room) are tastefully decorated as well, and the deck offers breathtaking views over the valley. The property offers the option of dining (for a very reasonable 350 ZAR per guest). Great breakfast, included in the rate. Great location barely one kilometer from the Monkeyland and Birds of Eden parks.

Very special place in the forest as stop on your garden route roadtrip. Location is great - between plett & Tsitsikama nature reserve. We upgraded the honeymoon suite which was very special - full glass cabin surrounded by trees. You have to be lucky with the weather though, we gladly had some sun. The staff turns on the fireplace in the room for extra warmth during the night. The diner was incredibly good and also the breakfast was really nice.

It is one of the more relatively expensive accommodations (value for money) but it is worth it

This is a hidden gem. We were not lucky with the weather when we arrived there - but we wished we could stay longer. The place is well hidden in the forest and you can fully immerse yourself in the relaxation. The views at the sunrise and the sunset are amazing and also you can watch the birds directly from the shower. The breakfast was delicious as well as the dinner.

We stayed in the room in the main building and you can hear the noises from the kitchen and main area but it did not bother us too much.

The forest location, although daunting at first to drive in there by myself, it is absolutely amazing! To be surrounded by the trees and have an incredible view makes it a must stay place. The room was so amazing, a firm but comfortable bed with comfy pillows. A hot shower and gorgeous bath tub (although I didn't take a bath). My room was upgraded on arrival which was very special. Walking up to the stunning view of the trees and laying in bed listening to the monkeys playing was so special. The breakfast was delicious, and everyone I met was just so beautiful.
