The hotel itself is beautiful and in a wonderful location looking over the water. Our room was very cosy, nicely decorated and exceptionally clean. We loved the lounge area downstairs with the roaring open fire - it makes the hotel. Breakfast was excellent. The choice of fresh smoothies, pastries, meat and cheese etc was brilliant and the cooked Scottish breakfast was delicious. The waitress who did both dinner and breakfast service was very attentive and hospitable.

Due to a small confusion with our room type, the check-in process was a little challenging. The situation escalated more than it needed to and the staff member who dealt with it came across as unhelpful, dismissive and unwelcoming. An unfortunate start to our stay as we loved the hotel.

A lovely, spacious room provided with robes, house slippers, nice selection of teas and coffee. Nice linens and a comfortable bed. Very large bath towels and a hot towel rack. Free large parking lot nearby. We had a nice check-in with Lindsey. We had made dinner reservations for here but they let us know ahead of time they were short staffed and they would not be serving dinner that evening. The property is immaculate clean.

No elevator and a lot of steep steps. The property is on a gravel road and is about 2 miles off the main road. We suggest guests arriving early as sheep are on the road sometimes. Because of the location, we suggest guests have dinner before arriving. We felt the property was overpriced at $435 US dollars. Our bacon was skimpy at breakfast and needed to be cooked more. I love bacon but did not eat it because it wasn't fully cooked. We were doing a six-week trip of Europe and I'm sad to say this was our least favorite breakfast. The bathroom does not have a window shade or covering. Even though the window is at the woods, there is a need for a window shade.

The property was lovely, we had a gorgeous room, with views of the loch and a lovely large bathroom. All the staff were very welcoming & helpful. We ate at the hotel, had a lovely meal. We really appreciated the lovely staff who looked after us. My husband appreciated the whisky selection, menu & flight options. We were only there one night but could have happily stayed longer. We travelled with our dog so pre booked to eat dinner and breakfast in the bar area, worked well for us and very comfortable chairs. We really enjoyed the North of the The Isle of Skye, we have a lovely walk at The Quiraing, stunning views and we saw Sea Eagles soaring over Uig port on our drive to the hotel. Thank you for a lovely stay

We stayed at Greshornsch House for four evenings and had a wonderful time. The hospitality and service of the staff was top-notch. The Jura room has an incredible window view of the loch, and we enjoyed soaking in the spacious bathtub. Dinner was amazing each night, in particular the seafood mains were fresh and seasoned really well. The breakfast hash and smoked salmon were also delicious. Mark, Katie, Sam, Lisa and Hope, thank you so much for making our stay so enjoyable (and please pardon if we've misspelled your names). Cheers!

The hotel has terrific shared facilities with great ambience. Our room was spacious and well appointed, and the bathroom was as-new. The hotel grounds are very pleasing, although the inclement weather during our stay meant we couldn’t make the most of the surroundings. The staff were welcoming and friendly. We dined in the hotel restaurant for breakfasts and dinners and found the meals to be of good quality. We had a 2 year-old and an infant in our family group, and the staff made provision for our needs without any fuss whatsoever. Overall, our expectations were met and we recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for some comfort and tranquility away from the main tourist areas on Skye.

We had no particular dislikes. Some members of our group found the dinner menu to be a bit more limited than they would prefer (due to their particular tastes) but enjoyed their meals nonetheless. The access road (really a track) to the hotel is generally single-lane with a few passing points but with almost no traffic.

Large country home that has been converted to a B&B. Friendly staff. Excellent breakfast (included) and dinners. Lovely lounge with fire going all the time. I enjoyed looking at their booklet describing all their local whisky. It was fun to watch the Chinese Golden Pheasants that were wandering around the property.

These are minor complaints I have with most hotels, but given the price of the room, it seems they should take a few steps to address: it would be nice to have more towel racks (so we can more easily re-use our towels), and shelving or a small table in the bathroom so we can store our toiletries.

Our recent stay at Greshornish was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and genuine hospitality by the staff. The ambiance of the hotel was inviting and elegant, setting the tone for a memorable experience. The room itself was immaculate, with every detail carefully curated for comfort and convenience. The bed was luxuriously comfortable, ensuring a restful night's sleep. The room had a gorgeous view over the salt lake, and every piece of decor was carefully curated to match the style of the house. My understanding was that certain pieces of art were provided by one of the family members that owned the hotel. The amenities provided were top-notch, and I appreciated the thoughtful touches throughout the room. What truly stood out during my stay was the exceptional level of service provided by the staff. From the concierge to the housekeeping team, everyone went above and beyond to ensure that our needs were not only met but exceeded - including our doggy. Their friendliness and attentiveness made us feel truly valued as guests. Overall, our experience at Greshornish was unforgettable and we are planning to coming back for a longer stay. I would highly recommend it to anyone seeking a superb hotel stay characterized by exceptional service and a welcoming atmosphere. We are looking forward to returning in the future.

The only downside is that we only stayed there for a night, but we made the most of it by playing snooker and board games next to the open fire. For our next stay, we will look to book more nights and explore the local area as just behind the hotel house there is a beautiful cliff walk with dramatic views.

We have chosen this hotel for our last adventure together before becoming parents. Hotel is true gem when it comes to remote locations. We stayed in "Rum" room. Really spacious, comfortable bed and a great view. I can't fault it all all. Staff has been really friendly and polite. Always asked if everything is alright. Breakfast and Dinner delicious and variety of choices. There is so many places to visit around which is a great bonus. Truly rested and will definitely come back.

If hotel is really busy there is no access to the fireplace or game room. Simply occupied. Which could be a nice adition after Dinner to sit by the fire. Although it is not to say it's fault of the hotel.

Location was excellent roaring fires in lounge making the room cosy. Great walk ways to the beach coves that were stunning. Breakfast was excellent very tasty especially the haggis my husband stated. Service excellent and friendly.

Unfortunately the evening menu dishes were lacking. Some of the food items seemed mismatched-take lamb kebabs with rice noodles. I personally have not seen this on a menu before and would have preferred served with tzatziki & hummus that’s been sprinkled with dukkah. Some warm pitta, flatbread and fresh salad like a Mediterranean tomato or a Greek salad. I felt that the price of the evening meals were slightly overpriced. Being winter it was hard to eat anywhere except the hotel as most places closed and roads icy.

The meals were fantastic. The whole environment of the hotel was relaxing. The staff were very friendly and very helpful. The property was in a very interesting location that appealed to us. The weather was not very comfortable but once inside the environment was very warm and safe and inviting.

The bed was to singles pulled together and there was a ridge between the beds that was not comfortable. If there was a mattress topper used to cover the ridge at the join it may make it more comfortable.
