Well maintained and decorated property throughout and with friendly staff. Eating options were excellent, as was the service in the two restaurants we tried.

Given we are of a certain age and had heavy cases, the offer of help to our far distant, upper floor room would have been nice (even if we declined it) and there was a bit of a palarva linking our room card to a credit card I’d given on check-in (for charging) which we had to go to reception to sort out (it would have been nice if someone had contacted us when they realised there was a question they hadn’t asked on check in, rather than wait for us to find out the hard way). These are minor niggles really and, as our 9 score indicates, didn’t detract substantially from a very positive experience overall.

Great accommodation. Very clean. Great location. Really comfy bed. Great spa - would really recommend a massage at the spa.

One of the main reasons we picked out accommodation (one bed deluxe retreat) was for the use of the hot baths. The bath was not heated for arrival and instead we arrived to an overflowing bath with freezing cold water from the hose. The bath took hours to heat up (lukewarm after 5 hours). I am sure the outside temperate played a factor but a nice tough would be to arrive with the bath heating up (not necessarily fully heated). I’ve had this service in other places we’ve stayed and it goes a long way. We never ended up using it which was a bit of a waste as we would probably have just booked a room.

On arrival we waited 10mins to be served . When tea arrived no sugar provided and waited another 15mins for our scones. By that time tea was cold. Advised waitress and it was a very cold and sharp sorry. Very disappointing. Also it would have been nice if we were asked if we would like transport to our retreat from the hotel . it was a bit of a journey carrying our suitcases for 10mins to our lodge at the rear of the site. However retreat cabin was amazing. Would also have liked breakfast delivered to our cabin. I did request this service and willing to pay , but to.no avail. These extra little touches would certainly help due to my underlying health condition

As a regular visitor to Auchrannie for myself ., it’s always amazing . I took my grand daughter this time and had a different kind of stay .. from a kids facilities eye .. Again .. absolutely 1st class .. pool ., play barn .. lots of fun .

There is nothing that the Auchrannie can’t / won’t do . This resort is unbelievably accommodating.. our room was huge too. So relaxing.. spacious… We had room service as it was easier for dinner with the wee one . Fantastic .. efficient service .. food delicious aa always. Breakfast was super too and the Team are beyond friendly and helpful . So good with the wee one too .. Made you all feel so very welcome. The reception Team were wonderful too . Can honestly say every single person within the Auchrannie resort 💯 welcoming ., and fantastic at what they do … huge thank you . My little granddaughter loved her 1st wee holiday with her Nana .. at Nana’s favourite place.

The position of the hotel is spectacular. The choice of a small cooked breakfast was a really good one as often a large breakfast is too much but you want to get your money's worth. Pool was good and accompanying facilities. Very nice dining room if you were lucky to get on the higher level with lovely views.

We paid extra for a better room but were very disappointed in the size of the window so the restricted view spoiled the beautiful view of the landscape. I realise that not much could be done with that but the room was quite cluttered with too much furniture and I didn't feel we got the benefit of the view. Less furniture better arranged would have made a more pleasant room.

The location was excellent, with great views. The retreats were in excellent condition and spotless, with most amenities one could expect provided for.

The 2-person retreats really needed a small table and chairs for dining. The omission of these is a massive oversight, especially given that there is a kitchen, hob, and oven for self-catering. There is space for a small table, even if it were a fold out one. This is an issue that needs rectifying, and we would not stat in a one bed retreat again unless this is addressed. There is also a lack of storage space for any cases and luggage. It is unfortunate that priority was given to the couch 'snug' area built into the wall, rather than using this as a proper enclosed storage area.

The only issue we did have was with the breakfast. It wasn't really explained properly. We found if you only wanted toast or porridge, you still had to pay £15 each which we thought was extortionate considering we were not big eaters. It would have been better to hv 2 or 3 items from the continental buffet at £10 and leave the cooked breakfast at £15..so didn't bother going back as it would hv cost us £120 for the 4 days just for breakfast...

Beautiful resort with multiple different room types and restaurants, two pools, spa facilities and other activities. Quick drive from the ferry terminal and supermarkets/shops. There is a shuttle if needed. The room was comfortable and had everything I needed. Parking was available, although depending on which building you were in it could be difficult to find a space close to your room. The staff were really friendly.

I was mildly disturbed by the noise of footsteps from the people upstairs, and it was very warm (due to the excellent weather), although there was a fan to use which helped. I didn’t keep the windows open at night due to midges.

Overall the resort offers many facilities spread over a wide area. There is a good feeling of spaciousness in the various buildings. There are a few nooks and crannnies where you can be fairly private. The swimming pool is big but not deep. Changing room, steam room and sauna were good. In room coffee etc were refreshed every day. All staff members were helpful and pleasant. The minibus link to the ferry terminal was very useful since the bus station is adjacent. We were able to use local buses to explore the whole island. The Resort could make more of this facility which would enhance their green credentials.

The two restaurants Cruize and Brambles offer good quality meals but over the period of our stay (6 nights) there were no changes; no daily "specials" to provide extra variety. Similarly breakfast in Cruize offered a wide range although again there were no other variations. For those with small appetites, the set price seems rather heavy. One constant irritation was the piped music which was on the one hand indecipherable but intrusive particularly in Cruize. Biggest complain: too many dogs!

We stayed in one of the luxury cabin with our dog. The cabin was exceptionally clean and comfortable as well as dog friendly. So much so my dog didn’t want to leave to go day outs. Easily accessible to the main town and central to get around the island by car. We didn’t get a chance to use the spa or restaurant but next visit we will. Loved everything about the property staff well informed and friendly they where the ones that informed us the ferry was cancelled instead of the ferry company themselves. Outdoor sitting area is beautiful with outstanding view. Hot tub amazing peaceful and relaxing. I even learned how to get a fire started with the instructions I’m the cabin good to know for the future.
