We enjoyed our stay in Osaka Ukiyoe Ryokan very much. The room is exactly as shown here and on their website. The room is clean, spacious and very comfortable. The hotel is located very near to the huge Hommachi Metro station, serving 3 different train lines, which is excellent for access to all the attractions in Osaka. Ozaki-san, the owner of the hotel, is very welcoming and friendly. He goes all out to ensure his guests have an excellent stay. Even before we arrived, we have communicated via WhatsApp and Ozaki-san shared some Osaka planning tips. We are also very grateful for the souvenirs he has thoughtfully prepared for us. All-in-all an excellent stay and we would recommend it to anyone visiting Osaka.

While we accept Japan is an extremely safe place, a lock on the main entrance would give us a little bit more peace of mind. But this not a major concern anyway. The area feels safe even at night.

Before our trip even began, they provided us with detailed travel information that made planning so much easier. Despite our late arrival, they welcomed us warmly, even preparing snacks for our kids, who were too tired to go out for food. Throughout our stay, they showered us with thoughtful gifts and surprised us with a free photo shoot in traditional Japanese attire—a unique and heartwarming experience that our entire family will treasure forever. The ryokan itself is spotless, beautifully decorated in a traditional Japanese style, and the tatami beds were both special and comfortable. We also appreciated the convenience of being able to wash and dry our clothes easily. The service at Osaka Ukiyoe Ryokan is truly 6-star, and if our kids could rate it, they would give it 10 stars! Kumiko and Ozaki’s hospitality, kindness, and attention to detail made our trip unforgettable. We highly recommend this ryokan to anyone visiting Osaka. Thank you for everything, Kumiko and Ozaki!

Our stay at this property in Osaka was absolutely unforgettable! The traditional room was beyond beautiful—spacious, immaculately clean, and stunningly decorated, offering a perfect balance of comfort and authentic Japanese charm. The attention to detail in the room was exceptional, making us feel like we were experiencing something truly special. What really set this stay apart was the incredible hospitality of Ozaki, the host. He went above and beyond to make our visit memorable. Not only did he help us make reservations at local spots, but he also offered us a free photoshoot where we got to try on authentic samurai armor and kimono. The experience was so much fun, and his wife even took the time to edit the photos, which turned out absolutely beautiful! The thoughtful gifts and goodies Ozaki prepared for us were a wonderful surprise and made us feel so welcome. It’s rare to experience such warm and personal service, and it truly made our time in Osaka unforgettable. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Osaka—especially if you're looking for a unique, authentic experience with a host who genuinely cares about making your stay special. The host was the most gracious host of any place we have ever stayed. Extremely generous with late arrival and departures that fell outside of normal hours. Gave us a tour of the room showing us how everything worked. The room was really more like an apartment - it was excellent. Communication with the host was also great before, during, and even after the trip. He offered to do a photo shoot with some of his traditional Japanese outfits, which we took him up on and really enjoyed. The location was conveniently located near a subway entrance with an escalator - Huge win when traveling with luggage! We had an amazing time in Osaka and our stay here had a lot to do with that. If we ever visit again I will look to book here again before considering anywhere else.

Our stay in Osaka was absolutely wonderful. The apartment was spacious and had all the amenities we needed to feel comfortable, truly a home away from home. The location is just a few meters from a major metro station, making it easy to explore the city. Our host, Ozaki and his wife, went above and beyond in making our stay memorable. They were so welcoming and always ready to help. Ozaki gave us recommendations for restaurants and places to visit around Osaka, as well as useful tips for our day trip to Nara. The photo shooting with the traditional costumes was fun. Their hospitality made us feel like we were visiting friends rather than just staying at a rental. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Osaka.

My husband and I went on a 2 1/2 weeks trip to Japan for our Honeymoon and this was the best place we have stayed at. Ozaki-San and Kumiko-San were the best host we could ever ask for and they truly have a place worth staying at. Staying with them sincerely made us love Osaka and wish we could have stayed longer. If you are visiting Osaka, we highly suggest this place. It has everything you’ll ask for that no hotel around Japan. It is truly spacious and it made us feel like we are locals living in Japan. We cannot express enough how worth it this place is and also thank you so much to both the host for making our stay so memorable.

Ozaki-san was a wonderful host. He was so kind to my family. The samurai experience is not to be missed. Ozaki-san also helped us with booking restaurants and making recommendations for activities. The room was very pretty and spacious. The bathroom and laundry was large and comfortable. And the kitchen was very useful. Close to a subway and then easy to get to Ueno and Osaka stations. Staying here was one of the highlights of our trip.

There was a little traffic noise, but I think this would be hard to avoid in Osaka. The windows were double-glazed.

We were amazed when we checked in at this beautiful property in Osaka. We were greeted on arrival and showed through the space, so we knew how everything worked. Kumiko and Ozaki, have put so much effort into the details and what you need to have a comfortable home base while travelling. They were available to help sort anything we needed from booking Taxi's to meals. (Getting a taxi from the Osaka Shinkansen Station was easy and we felt great value given the luggage we were hauling). We had a fun photo shoot, getting to dress up in Kimonos and Samurai armour. My mum in her 70's felt very special doing it. We would totally stay again if we find ourselves back in Osaka. We also thought the location was great. We happily walked to most places from here and did not find it hard to get to Universal on the transport lines. Amazing attention to detail, and feels so nice to stay in a space that felt large and japanese! Overall we feel that not only was the accommodation perfect, but they went out of their way to make our stay amazing. Thank you!

Exceptional! The most comfortable Ryokan we had on our entire trip. The beds and linens were comfortable, combined with the spacious nearly 600 sqft room. The host provides quality furniture, like 2 sitting chairs for the tatami area, a 65" flat screen TV with Netflix and Disney+, laundry that works well, and yukata pyjamas. We had the best sleep in a week, and always felt good to come home to AC after the hot days sightseeing. The complimentary samurai photo session was enjoyable! Ozaki and Akikko put in a lot of effort and care into setup. Please do it for their sake, as you can tell they are passionate and enjoy this.

The room we rented is LARGE compared to Japan standards. It was easy for 4 adults to maneuver and be comfortable. The beds were comfortable, everything looks brand new . The communication was great, Osaki emailed and left his WhatsApp phone number. Subsequently, we communicated thru the WhatsApp. We were offered a photo shoot with authentic looking Japanese outfits. ( included in the room rental) Photos were sent immediately along with backgrounds that were photoshopped by Kimiko( his wife). Osaki also gave us restaurant recommendations which were fantastic. From start to finish, it was beyond phenomenal experience. I recommend without hesitation.
