I experienced the Pearl Beach Resort as an exceptionally nature-connected place where I could completely relax. Nestled between a lush hill and an unspoiled coral reef, it's situated on a beautiful beach, protected within a wonderful garden filled with scents, colors, flowers, and birdsong. My hut, constructed almost entirely from natural materials, provided a sense of security and comfort. The staff were friendly and informal, making me feel right at home. I could spend all day in the restaurant, ordering whatever I wanted at fair prices. I felt completely relaxed. "I would highly recommend this place to anyone seeking authenticity, appreciating nature, and sensing energy, as I felt this was a magnetic, energetic, and positive place. Walking around the island, I quickly realized I couldn't have found a better place. However, it's important to note that Indonesia, especially during the rainy season, faces a waste management issue. This is not specific to the Island, but it's important mentioning. With fewer tourists, the local waste management situation becomes more challenging. There are ongoing projects to address this, and visitors can choose to get involved. It's a personal decision: more tourists or slightly more waste. I personally have no regrets about my choice."

Pearl Beach was exceptional. The understated elegance is beautifully integrated with the environment, and while it doesn’t advertise as an eco-resort, it walks the talk being fully off-grid/self supporting with discreet solar power, well water etc. The house reef restoration also offers the best snorkelling on the island and the variety of fish life is astounding! Staff go out of their way to be helpful, and the restaurant and services were surprisingly affordable given the remoteness of the destination.

Some people may struggle with lack of aircon, but fans work really well and clever room design allows airflow by opening the big glass doors!

We absolutely loved it at Pearl Beach! We had booked 4 nights and ended up staying for 8, because once you get there, it is really hard to leave. We found everything we were looking for and more. Everything is so unique and beautiful, from the tree hide-outs, swings, hammocks & reading corners in the resort to the corals in the ocean. You can snorkel right from their beach and see amazing fish and even turtles. Additionally the incredibly friendly staff makes your stay special and the complimentary coffee break is also a really nice gesture. The breakfast is also really good, we especially loved the smoothie bowl. It is everything you could wish for on a remote island - a quiet, relaxed, friendly atmosphere in the most wonderful nature/environment.

Nothing, everything was great. It is just a pity, that they normally don't allow children in their bungalows only in the villas. Because there are probably many families who could not afford to stay in a villa and there really is enough space for an extra mattrass in the bungalows. We are very greatful for their special offer and that we could have the wonderful experience there that we had. Especially after seeing how childfriendly everyone is, I would wish that for everyone.

Everything, honestly. The garden bungalow was perfect for us. We loved the clean design, the comfortable bed, the big windows, the outside sitting area and the surroundings and the outdoor bathroom was a dream. Also the rest of the resort with the restaurant, the different beach lounge areas, the tree house etc. is beautifully built. Also the food in the restaurant is great with an also great choice of daily breakfast. Special thanks to the kind and always very friendly staff, from the owner, to the waiters, to the cleaning and gardening staff, the dive shop people and even the other guests. We had such a great, peaceful and mindful time on the island and would totally book this place again to get back to this piece of paradise.

It's ok to not have wifi in every corner of this spacious resort area. Strangely everywhere, even out on the reef while snorkeling, there was 4G signal. Not in our room. // Of course there was wifi (and 4G) available in the restaurant and even on the beach.

Most of the staff are very friendly.and sweet. They are young and local, which is a good thing as it helps the local comminity. Most of the food is very good. The rooms are.lovely. It is very quiet and peaceful.

The outside area needs a little TLC. Just little things like taking in the sunlounger cushions when it rains would be good. It looks messy and they are wet when you want to sit on them. Warm water runs out fast. The 'croissants' are not croissants - just shaped like them.

I have loved the stay in Pearl Beach Resort. The bungalows are fantastic. They have all the amenities one needs in such secludet place. The bed is very comfortable, you have an open-air bathroom and on the front porch really comfortable chairs. There is free mineral water that is filled up daily and the resort runs 100% on solar energy (huge compliment to the owners and managers of this place for investing in this). Each and everyone of the staff is very kind and attentive - i highly appreciated them! The food qas delicious too! The snorkelling in front of the resort is fantastic and they are doing a great job in keeping everything clean (To the people critizising the plastic on the island: you are also part of the problem and that is not something to blame a resort for!).

Amazing place in a small island with only 3 hotels and a small village. They upgrade my room to one in front of the sea, nice room with and open bathroom. Very beautiful gardens with different places to relax or read. With high tide you can snorkel in front of your room and with low tide you can walk the island

Plastic!, the island has a lot of plastic in the seashore. Is not their fault and every morning they clean the beach in front of the hotel but when you walk the island is sad to see so many plastic

We made a last minute decision to come here and we are very pleased we did. Through WhatsApp we sent an arrival time and their boat was waiting for us at a private departure point. Then the picturesque 15 minute trip dropped us on the beach just 75 metres from our detached bungalow. Most of the bungalows are the same with thatched roof, big raised bed with fully enclosing mozzie net. External bathroom and toilet. Adequate storage for bags and clothes. Rooms have a remote controlled wall fan though ours struggled to work on the last night of our stay. There is no mains electricity so power is provided by solar energy. On the large deck covering 2 sides of the building there is a small table and chairs and a large hammock. The spacious grounds are well tended with concrete block footpaths leading to the bar/restaurant and a large area with sun beds spread around. The east facing beach stretches along the length of the site and feature a reef where interesting fish can be seen by snorkelling. This was the main focus of the day for most active guests. The bathing is very safe. The bar area offers several seating options for with most undercover and a big deck built under a large shade tree overlooking the sea and Mt Rinjani in the distance on clear mornings. It is possible to walk right around Asahan island (4.5km) in approximately 90 minutes The bar/restaurant offers plenty of choice for eating western and Indonesian dishes to suite everyone. A comprehensive choice of breakfast options too. All at very reasonable prices. The staff are mostly young people who are very pleased to help and serve and give a very good service and an impression to guests. Overall Pearl Beach is a very pleasant and relaxing place to stay on a very pristine island beach. We would definitely come again.

The chia bowl for breakfast was large and delicious, I felt the need to order it 3 days in a row despite other excellent options available. The house reef was so good, huge diversity, saw things I've never seen before. Having the dive centre attached/next door was perfect! Metal straws and free drinking water to ensure environmental sustainability.

It would be good if they had a no smoking sign in the restaurant. There was a group of 6 very loud arrogant travelers on our last day who were smoking and playing cards in the restaurant and it was very off putting and changed the energy of the place for all the other quiet, peaceful and friendly holiday makers. A no smoking sign would have moved them to another area.

The property bungalow where we stayed was comfortable: bedding and AC with nice wooden finishes and natural materials. There is also an open bathroom with an open shower. The property is beachfront - it can’t get any better than that. The owners have worked on protecting the reef in front of the property and what you can see just snorkeling is absolutely incredible: the reef is teeming with fish of all sorts. Some people saw turtles and we saw the banded sea snake. Life is so abundant in the island with lizards and birds as well and the landscape and views of Lombok’s hills, the blue colour of the ocean are incredible. The morning breakfast is nice and the staff are real hard workers. It was good being part of their journey as they upskill their English and we felt good contributing to this. The location is peaceful for those who are seeking it. The Yoga practice with Cilia is incredible. The diving experience was also amazing- I had a very patient diving lead who did a quick refresher on my buoyancy skills as I hadn’t dived in a year. The locals in the village are so welcoming when you walk past and so sweet. We also like horses so we did a horse walk and swam with them which we really enjoyed. We also had fun playing the guitar and chess in one of the restaurants on the island - you can access other food options in a short 15 min walk. Use your torch at night and don’t forget to play with the water in the dark to see the fluorescent planctons.

It is part of the game, but not being able to have a freshwater shower can be challenging when you’re a spoiled city person with access to all the amenities one can always wish for. But that’s a very small price to pay to stay in this quiet paradise.
