It was very well located for all amenities, although central it was quiet and peaceful, as slightly in a back street, just off the main road through the town. It had a safe private level car park, which was ideal for parking our touring bike. The breakfast area was delightful, with plenty of space between the tables. Room was big and spacious.

Would have liked coffee/tea making facilities, as this would have made this hotel excellent.

The Sofia Hotel was beautiful and a unique experience. The hotel offered tranquility, good food with a fantastically beautiful location (Plakias). We were also very welcomed by a top host (Vagelis) and other staff (family) of the hotel. Definitely highly recommended!

Short stay at the hotel due to trekking throughout Crete

Located at the center of Plakias, Sofia hotel is very close to restaurants and coffee shops. The stuff is very polite and helpful. The breakfast was very good with a lot of options for a 3-star hotel. The building is a bit old but the rooms are renovated. I would recommend this hotel to families and couples looking for quiet vacation.

The rooms don't have sea view and the bathroom could be better-decorated (you can check the hotel photos). However those two things didn't ruin our stay at all.

It is perfectly clean place, with very nice and comfourtable rooms. Breakfast is excellent and there are lots of different and very interesting things to try. "Garden view" isn't that great and the pool isn't in the Sofia hotel, but in the other one, which is near. However, who needs pool, when you have such a beautiful sea and wonderfull beaches nearby :)

New clean room, perfect location - the beach and a lot of taverns are nearby. Good breakfast! The stuff was glad to help with any question. Thank you for your hospitality! Love Plakias with all my heart and hope to return again.

My room was overlooked the noisy street, sometimes it was hard to sleep well.

Lovely hotel. Excellent location. Adjacent parking. Very comfortable and clean rooms. A family managed and operated hotel, all the staff are very friendly and pleasant. Welcoming and informative. Yummy delicious breakfast in a magical atmosphere. We had a great time and hope very much to return to the hotel and the area in the future. Plenty of stunning and fun beaches. A varied and lively happy night in the center

Breakfast really brilliant. Staff kind and super helpful. Environs and places to eat brilliant. Access by car to many fantastic and often remote beaches. We've been to Greece 12 times each and this was one of the best

Only thing I didn't like was having to leave!

Newly built (or renovated) building) with very nice, modern and tasteful decorations, beautiful colours of blue, green, turquoise. The room was great, comfortable with 2 air conditions, two small but comfortable balconies, you can sit out and have a coffee. It looked to the supermarket in a quiet street, but it was not noisy. Breakfast was great, a good variety of hot and cold food, nice Mountain Tea. Thorough cleaning was done every day.

A very few and small things which we did not like: the coffee at breakfast (but this is normal with hotel breakfast, just prepare for it). We had to go out to get a proper coffee. The other is the swimming pool: it is is not right at the hotel, it is 2 minutes at another apartment hotel, we learned about this too late and could spend only the last evening there. Given the extremely windy beach, it would have been very useful to know about this opportunity earlier. I suggest reading the hotel brochures and website carefully as you do not get too much information at the reception only if you specifically ask. The pool was okay, a bit old, the water was cold.

Excellent hotel in a good location. The staff were wonderful and helped us with onward bookings when Booking.com showed places were unavailable. Fantastic breakfast included in tariff. Very clean with a supermarket across the street Room was very spacious and bathroom was bigger than most. Excellent shower. Plakios was a great town to spend a few days.

The hosts - the family that runs the hotel - are helpful and gracious. They are happy to offer suggestions on the area and take the time to explain. Our room was very comfortable. The breakfast buffet is excellent. The homemade marmelades were outstanding. Would be very happy to stay again.
