The hospitality of the owners was amazing. I enjoyed the discussions I had with them and the various tips they gave me. We also arranged a dinner with them at the premises which was also very tasty! Overall I enjoyed my stay there a lot and I would stay again.

The only thing that I did not like was the processing of the payment. Instead of a machine where I could just tap my card it had to be done through an online system which notifies my bank and sends an sms that I have to approve. This could have been fine but I was on a local SIM card so had to reactivate my regular sim card to be able to have the payment processed.

Property was in a fantastic location near all of the major Rotorua tourist spots. It had a fantastic view of the geysers in Te Puia. The rooms were spacious and comfortable with en suites. The breakfast was fantastic - fresh fruit, yogurt, granola, cold meats and cheeses and fresh toast / breads. Dave and Shami were excellent hosts. They gave great advice as to where to go / what to do. They made us a lovely cup of tea / coffee in the morning. They were so welcoming upon arrival and wished us safe travels on our departure. We wished we could have stayed longer! Thank you for having us! :)

The property is in a quiet residential location on the edge of Rotorua, ideally located for exploring all the geothermal parks in the area, which ranged from 10 mins to 30 mins away by car. We stayed for 4 nights and found the accommodation very comfortable, although some of the furnishings in our room were starting to feel a little tired and dated, albeit the bathroom had just been upgraded and was excellent. Our hosts, Dave and Sharmi were very friendly and helpful and provided an excellent communal breakfast each morning.

There is a shared kitchen, which was fine for making a drink or heating up some food in the evening, but lacked a lot of basic facilities if you were intending to cook something a little more substantial. Some of the fixtures/fittings in our room needed a little maintenance, but it didn't spoil our stay.

Shami & Dave have been the most delightful hosts I've had the pleasure of knowing. Their home is clean, comfortable, and has a beautiful view over Rotorua. My room was spacious, well-provisioned, and very comfortable. It also had its own private deck with views toward the city center. Shaming and Dave made me feel quite at home and I enjoyed getting to know them during my stay. In the morning they provided a delicious and diverse spread of a Mediterranean breakfast including homemade breads and jams.

My only complaint was that I didn't book a couple more nights as I was enjoying my stay here!

This was by far the best accommodation on our trip so far (hotels, apartments, B & Bs). The home is five minutes outside of central Rotorua, so you need your car, but that is the case everywhere in Rotorua. There is parking on the property the room was very comfortable, the beds were the bed was excellent, the bathroom very light and spacious. The best thing was it was so clean I felt like I was in my own home. In the morning we had breakfast in the dining room, finely presented and very good espresso. Our hosts were friendly.

This was a lovely NZ "Homestay". My host, Dave, was very nice and gave me good information regarding my stay and my onward journey. He was quite right, the Huka Falls are truly spectacular! The accommodation was immaculate, clean, snug and such a wonderful bed. A great combination of mattress, pillows and bed linen made it the perfect sleeping nest! Breakfast was superb, a selection of cold cuts, juice etc. perfect to start the day. Dave also offers a bag of laundry for a very sensible price! Just put all your washing in the bag and voila it’s washed and folded on your return from your day in Rotarua. I celebrated my birthday here and I’m delighted I did. I highly recommend The Geyser Lookout for a stay in Rotarua.

Absolutely loved my time and stay with Dave and Shami they are a lovely wonderful amazing couple who show so much love and kindness. The view is to die for!!!! In awe of the location and the view of the geyser. Beautiful beautiful home witj 4 well kept and comfortable rooms u wont regret it I will be back again with hubby and kids next time 😀 😊 thank u so much Dave and Shami for your hospitality, and breaky was delicious!!!!!!! Fantastic hosts, lovely room, great location. Shami and Dave were so lovely, and welcomed me to their home and their gorgeous cats. They made lots of space available, beyond just my room. Breakfast was excellent. And I had dinner there on two nights and Shami is a fantastic cook. Far too much food haha.

Shami and Dave made me feel very welcome in their home from the moment I arrived. They were always open for a chat and helpful with advice on things to do and see in Rotorua. I would like to thank them for having me as a guest over the course of my stay and for their warm hospitality. The lodge itself is conveniently situated on the No. 12 bus line and within walking distance from Te Puia and Whakarewarewa. As a solo traveller without a car, I had no issues finding my way around by public transport.

Owners of the property are very friendly and helpful with suggestions on where to go. Very clean rooms and nice breakfast prepared. Lovely view from the living room.

Nothing not to like but is in a residential area and a bit far from the centre. Therefore, if you don’t have a car(which I doubt would be the case when travelling to NZ) it is a bit out of the way. However, if you have a car it’s very convenient to get into town and easy access on to the main highway.
