While the location is remote, it was exactly what we were looking for from a resort. The breakfast is one of the better we've had at hotels: well labeled and wide selection of items. We stayed a week and there were always new dishes to sample. There is a complimentary shuttle to/from the pier (twice daily). The hotel also picked us up when the ferry arrived. We most liked Tanote Beach, direct access from the hotel; the snorkeling is amazing, but it is quite crowded in the water. The hill from/to the resort is a doozy, but you can take your time still arrive within 5 minutes.

We used the complimentary shuttle to the pier one day and the scheduled return shuttle never showed up. We reached out via Whatsapp and were lied to once they replied (the lie: he's been there waiting since 4:30pm). It took an hour before the driver showed up; it's a 15 minute drive from the hotel to the pier. We understand things happen, but why not be truthful? It was very off-putting.

This resort has all you need for a relaxing vacation! They offer you a shuttle from and to the pier which is already a good bargain, there is a pool with a gorgeous view, but most of all it is located over one of the best snorkeling spots on the island. The staff was friendly and very helpful

I suppose the TV wasn't working but it not a big deal if you have such a view from the balcony :)

We loved that the hotel was only a ten minute drive to the main area but felt away from the back packer area and felt super chilled. Hotel were very helpful with arranging taxis, snorkelling trip which was the best we’ve done and picking up up! The pools were beautiful

Food could have been better and expected the room to be a bit nicer / brighter / more modern, nicer bathroom but on the whole was perfect for a few nights

It’s a lovely location with great views over the sea. It’s a short walk down and back up to and from the beach but we enjoyed this. The beach is great with brilliant snorkelling and you can also do the short walk up the road behind the Hotel to the sun and moon restaurant with a great cooking school, views and delicious food. We stayed in a pool villa, the rooms were comfortable and our pool was very nice. The main pools are big and beautiful to look at. The breakfast / dinner area is nicely decorated.

It’s a hotel in the jungle so to be expected but there were big spiders in the room. The main pool had lots of chemicals in it, our room pool was fine though.

Nice property, rooms by the pool were worth the extra price… pools were nice to have a dip as it was hot hot… friendly staff especially Pim who helped out with everything quickly and with a smile, can get scooters at the hotel which you really need if you want to go see a few places around the island without spending cash on the super-pricey taxis… Tanote bay is beautiful and I love to swim so it was amazing to swim out far and see the fish and the scuba divers doing their thing without the busy ness of the boats around….

Breakfast was average enough but it did vary so it was fine… you are isolated if you don’t have a scooter but a nice place to really relax with the partner…ac never quite seemed to get cool enough but it was super hot… overall I would likely go back…steep climb back to the villa after walking down to the beach…

It felt like a serene escape, with the calming sounds of the sea providing a constant, soothing backdrop. One of the highlights of our stay was the proximity to Tanote Beach, just a 10-minute walk away. This beach is a hidden gem, offering some of the best snorkeling experiences we’ve ever had. The crystal-clear waters teeming with marine life made for unforgettable snorkeling adventures. Adding to the convenience, the place provided snorkeling gear for free, which was a fantastic perk. It allowed us to explore the vibrant underwater world without any additional hassle or expense. For those looking to explore further, scooters were available for rent at the place. This was a great option for us to venture out and discover more of the surrounding area at our own pace. Overall, our stay was nothing short of amazing. The combination of the great view, excellent service, beautiful room with a sea view, and the close proximity to Tanote Beach made our vacation truly special. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable escape to paradise.

The villa was a little ways away from the beach but while the distance was not far, the steep terrain was a bit of a challenge. Beach was never crowded, but it was not empty either (we were there mid October). Water shoes would be a good investment; bit more rocky than soft sand but not dirty. Water was amazingly clear, and only a little cloudy after a heavy rain. The view was fantastic! The restaurant and all the staff were exceptional. The smaller pool was open and it was wonderful. Incredible view!

The lighting in the villa was barely ok, bathroom was way too dark, even when the single bulb was on. Fans and a screen door would have helped.

We loved everything about Tanote Resort. Our room with its ensuite bathroom and terrace was spacious, clean and comfortable; the swimming pools were super enjoyable and the view over the Tanote Bay and its surroundings was absolutely stunning. The staff was amazing, friendly and welcoming; most come from Myanmar in search for a more hopeful future. A very BIG THANK YOU to all of them for making out stay so special; three brilliant days; what a treat! A side note on the food served at the resort which has been criticized in some reviews. As far as we are concerned, we found breakfast and the food served in the evening excellent. Overall, this is a stay we will remember. We will be back!

The staff were very nice and very helpful and friendly and considerate. The location is above Tanote bay that has tons of fish and corals. Beautiful for snorkeling. It's about 5 minutes walk down and 10 minutes up. There are some nice restaurants at the beach that are not bad, though not as good as in the hotel itself. It's a 10 minute drive to the pier, Sairee, or aow leuk. The rooms were spacious and very comfortable. The beds were great! There is a free shuttle to the pier twice a day that is also very convenient.

We stayed only three nights, should have stayed more.
