Beautiful, historic building. Very nice atmosphere. Beautiful park all around, great walks. magic atmosphere on the grounds of the hotel. Romantic park. Walks in the countryside near the hotel. Possibility of coming with a dog. Great, helpful staff and especially Kris, Apo and Libbee: you have made my stay a very pleasant one. Thank you! You are doing a great job. The hotel would not be the same without you. You make it special!

Ideas of improvement for breakfast: there could be sourdough bread and salmon for breakfast. There could be a machine for guests to make themselves apple, carrot, kale juice. There could be sprouted seeds for breakfast. Prices of the restaurant a little bit too expensive. There could be the history of the building somewhere in the reception. No green apples but normal apples.

The property is stunning. The rooms were lovely. Loved the spa! The breakfast was the highlight- it was amazing! All the staff were so lovely! Mo, Scarlett etc.

Overall everything was fab! I was just a bit surprised that on our last night I had a 0% gin and lemonade and it came to £18. I was really shocked. There was also service charge on there when I stood and waited for it. My husband was drinking double rum and cokes for only £13, no service charge, and we never paid for service on any of our other drinks that we collected ourselves at the bar. I asked the gentleman at check out and he couldn't help us but it just left a bad taste in the mouth. You can buy a bottle of that 0% Caleño stuff for £14 on ocado! I'd have rather had a diet coke for that price. £18 for a 0% g&t! No one could believe it.

Irreverently humorous waiter (Mo) in the restaurant, beautiful setting, staff excellent without exception. Food quality generally good, though three out of four in our party asking for the whites of eggs to be cooked until they were not 'snotty' failed repeatedly. The ladies raved about their fabulous massages from Tia and Claire.

The hammering on the door next to ours at 3 am for some bloke getting room service. My wife awoke startled, thinking somebody was breaking in. The sticky toffee pudding that was cold in the middle as it clearly had not been microwaved for long enough. The pool and spa involves a short walk outside in inclement weather.

From the first glimpse of the hotel we were awed, stunning building and beautiful grounds. Our welcome was friendly and the room was beautiful, with all the extras you expect at this price point, bonus points for having fresh milk in the fridge! We had an issue with the shower and without hesitation we were given a new room which was also an upgrade. We had a meal in the bar, it was obviously busy at the time but the staff were well organised and there were no delays. Our meal was good value. We loved the atmosphere of the hotel, it was calm and peaceful and all the staff were lovely. We hope to go back one day.

Not sure I can think of anything, we came back home feeling rested and relaxed even after a very busy weekend. All positives!!!

Everything ! We have stayed here 3 times as our son is at University in Birmingham and it is perfect after we have dropped him off / collected him as it is too far too make a double journey in a day. As you drive through the entrance it is impossible to imagine the city is a couple of miles away. It is a heaven of tranquility. Birds singing, no sound of traffic and the building sits at the end of the drive, appearing out of its moat, today surrounded by a low mist and early sunshine . Just stunning. Every single member of staff greets you with a smile, chatty , friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Health spa and Gym is clean, extra towels to hand and the swimming pool just perfect for a pre breakfast swim. Each room we have stayed in has been clean, decorated in the period but not gawdy or over pretentious. Dinner is fairly priced and food arrives hot and beautifully presented. The luxury of having breakfast in your room or outside for no extra charge is the icing on the cake. There is simply nothing not to like and we will be back over the next 3 years without fail.

The Staff, Especially Kris...what a Legend...Polite, Welcoming, Helpful, Charming...The Grounds, Tranquil and Beautiful...The Room was Big and Bright and Clean

The Food was shocking...had to have my food re done...then what came out after certainly wasn't something to ever return for and for a Risotto and a Barely edible Steak the £82 price tag was sickening and a real regret. Probably for me the worst meal I've had at a restaurant. My partners Risotto was Average...Huge Shame

We liked everything about this hotel. The building itself is stunning, but the staff really made it special. Every single person was welcoming, kind, and generous of themselves. We felt really valued. The food was delicious. It's not cheap but not extortionate either. The room was perfect with everything we needed. We had such a lovely time A big thank you to all the staff, you did a marvellous job.

There was nothing we didn't like.

The setting is amazing, with excellent features and so much history. The staff were brilliant, reception staff especially good, thank you Chelsea. The Spa was so good, I will definitely be returning!! The food was of a very high standard in an incredibly comfortable restaurant. Well worth the stay, thank you to everyone!

Only spending two days at the hotel, I wish it could have been longer.

A beautiful old characterful historic property. The staff are excellent. Couldn’t fault the staff- very efficient, attentive and professional Lovely restaurant- good food, excellent service Bar- excellent staff on attendance

Furnishings rather dated unfortunately. Few minor lapses in maintenance..leaking bath tap, frayed curtains, worn carpets Spa needs updating although the staff and treatments were amazing

The experience from arrival through to leaving was made as pleasant and easy as possible. The small rooms to relax with a drink or for afternoon tea were quaint and well serviced and the temperature of the hotel in all areas was excellent as many can get it wrong in old buildings.

Would have liked to be told prior that the restuarant maybe busy and pre booking adviseable
