The hotel's location was absolutely perfect, putting us right in the heart of downtown, close to public transport and things to do. Our room was beautifully appointed with everything we needed and more. We especially appreciated the hotel's flexibility with check-in and check-out times, which made our trip incredibly convenient.

The internet gave us some issues, and the only fix was for me to call the hotel's internet provider from the front desk phone. It took 40 minutes and was not ideal, but it did get fixed in the end.

The location was very good, 2 min from the downtown Berkeley bart station. This means there are also plenty of nice restaurants within walking distance. The hotel itself looks very nice, the staff was helpful and accommodating, the room was spacious and comfortable. I had to be in an online meeting during a full day, and there was a desk and comfortable chair for that.

Not much, really. It didn't really disturb me, but my room was on the street side (Shattuck Avenue), and the windows were not soundproof. On Saturday, there was a guy selling stuff below my window, and he had a loud voice. That was audible in the room. So if you are particular on silence, maybe ask for a room facing one of the more silent streets.

This was our 2nd stay here and we love it. It's always clean, comfortable, the location is great and the staff is very friendly! Shout-out to Bryan at the front desk. My husband and I got separated and when he showed up, Bryan made sure to let him in and get him to our room. Also, my mother needed to step outside for air but was nervous with it being so early. Bryan stood by the door and kept watch allowing her to feel safe. He was amazing!

Needed more coffee options in the room. We had one regular and 3 decafs. My mother's room had 1 regular, 2 decafs and a green tea.

The hotel was in a great location just off Union Square and in great walking distance to a lot of restaurants, shops & Powell St public transport. Had a nice bar connected to the Hotel too. The rooms were kept clean and wifi was good. We also got a later check out to 1pm which we were very grateful for.

On arrival it took the staff member on the front desk a lot longer than expected to check us all in (a group of 14) and provide us all with room keys. The hotel knew what time we were arriving so this could of been done before arrival to prevent a longer wait than expected in the foyer. Another member of staff arrived and promptly sorted all the room keys which was appreciated. Apart from that our stay was great.

Great location, comfortable bed.

The location of Pickwick hotel is excellent. It's a $10 and 30min train ride from the airport, making it easy to access when lugging luggage around as it is half a block away from the train station. It is close to the main cable car stop for both lines, next to a mall and a nice straight walk down to Pier 1. The staff were super friendly also.

The room and bathroom are basic and small so as long as you aren't spending much time in the hotel, you'll be fine.

After having deal with a nightmare situation, getting scammed by another hotel, the manager here helped us check in earlier, gave us a beautiful room, and made sure to check on us every time we entered to lobby. My partner and I decided from now on when we come to visit we will be staying here. As for the hotel manager, if you’re reading this, thank you so much for helping us! You AND your staff are great. The cleaning lady on our floor was super kind and everyone was very welcoming!

Literally no complaints!

I liked the location and the look of the hotel. The hotel is close to so many attractions. The parking garage built into the hotel made it so much easier for our arrival and departure. The double room we stayed was small yet effective. The bathroom was so tiny, I wonder how very large people feel in it. The check-in and -out process was simple and quick. The key-card access elevator helped to assure me that I was in a safe and monitored place.

Excellent staff and service. My travel plans changed and I arrived super early (10am instead of the 4pm plan) and they checked me in, no problem. The bed was comfortable, the room had a fridge/ironing board/hair dryer. The room had excellent blackout curtains. It's not the most modern hotel, but not outdated, either and excellent value for the location compared to others right around it. Wifi worked just fine (I didn't try anything intense, like massive downloads or uploads, but I was able to stream Netflix on my phone with no issues). Plenty of restaurants within an easy walk. I didn't have a car so I don't know what the parking situation is. Plenty of Ubers/taxis available. Right near several major bus stops and a block away from the BART (lightrail).

You definitely hear the street noise at all hours, but that's to be expected in this location (one of my friends was staying at the Intercontinental and you could hear street noise there, too). That's more of a "good for people to know" rather than a "I didn't like it" aspect. Really, I had no complaints.

Very friendly staff, were able to check me in about an hour early. Within easy walking distance of Union Square. Comfy bed. Several restaurants within an easy walking distance. Excellent value for the area. No resort fees (most in this area have them).

It's the nature of the area you're in, but the rooms aren't very quiet. It's an older hotel, so the soundproofing isn't the best. However, all that is minor and I'd stay here again happily.
