I introduced this beautiful region to my wife and a befriended couple from Denmark and decided to book a 2 nights weekend getaway at the Hotel Val Vignes in St. Hippolyte. The hotel itself is beautiful and so is the location. The service of the frontdesk team and all the employees we encountered is magnificent. We enjoyed every interaction with them. Beeing it pre- and afterdinner drinks, bike rental, wine storage; everything was great, and as mentioned, the staff is superb. The only disappointment was the actual room. We booked the Premium category, but the room didn't look at all as displayed. We had a parking view and the room was just OK. A bummer as it didn't match the overall wonderful experience we encountered at this exceptional hotel. Also, the room cleaning was not up to standard. Dirty towels (we put on the floor) were taken but not exchanged. Overall, we highly recommend this hotel, but we would ensure we will get an appropriate room per booked category when visiting again.
The only disappointment was the actual room. We booked the Premium category, but the room didn't look at all as displayed

Spacious room, relaxed friendly atmosphere throughout the hotel. Nice public spaces for relaxation. Friendly and helpful staff. Plentiful parking. Superb buffet breakfast, although pricey if you only want a light meal. Spa area with sauna and steam room was good for private session - we didn't have any problem reserving the slots we wanted, but that could be an issue if there was more demand. Plentiful parking.
Nothing much. Tea and coffee provision in room could be a bit more generous - e.g. there wasn't enough provided for both guests to enjoy the same tea choice.

We had a wonderful stay in the Val-Vignes - a historic building set in the beautiful village of Saint Hippolyte. The spacious room had all the amenities we wanted and a recently renovated and roomy bathroom. The restaurant was top quality, and there was a sumptuous breakfast buffet. All the staff were excellent, warmly welcoming and very attentive. The church bells don’t ring between 9 at night and 8.30 in the morning and we had a peaceful night. We could not believe how little we paid for such a memorable stay. We look forward to visiting again
We arrived in the evening and the signage from the parking was sometimes a little too unobtrusive.

Lovely hotel with an interesting history. Fantastic views overlooking St-Hippolyte and the surrounding countryside. Although our room was at the back of the hotel, the view was of vineyards and Chateau du Haut-Koenigsbourg. St-Hippolyte is definitely worth walking around to view the beautiful buildings.
Nothing; although it was a challenge to find a restaurant with a table available for an evening meal we did succeed, there are plenty to choose from, but we were arriving after 7pm. As we had booked room only breakfast was a challenge too and although we found a charming bakery within walking distance, it is worth considering whether paying for breakfast would be easier.

the location was excellent for the Alsace wine route. The views from the hotel are beautiful We stayed in the front of the building and had a lovely view at night over the town to the valley below. The staff were very helpful and kind. The gentleman on the breakfasts went out of his way to make sure that the breakfast choices were always plentiful. very good breakfast. The food in the restaurant was excellent although expensive .The head waiter /wine waiter recommended some excellent local wines and nothing was too much trouble . The bedrooms were very clean nice towels and sheets comfortable bed
The hotel was listed as a 4 star on booking .com I think as the rooms and especially the bathrooms are tired and there is no air conditioning it is more like a 3 star. The price did reflect this. The front south facing patio was exceptionally hot with limited shade. such a beautiful spot you felt you wanted to glamourise the patio with planters and greenery for a more cooling affect

Close your eyes and imagine an idyllic place nestled in vineyards overlooking a charming Alsatian village where the church bells ring out the hours of the day -- this is Hotel Val-Vignes. The staff are incredibly friendly and highly professional. The rooms spacious, clean, and comfortable. The Table de Val-Vignes is offers outstanding food , drinks., and service. The morning breakfast is excellent. The view from the hotel patio is breath-taking. It is a short walk down to the lovely village of Saint Hippolyte. And be sure to take a walk in the nearby vineyards -- incredible views. Long uphill hike or short but tortuous drive up to the castle of Haut-Koenigsbourg but worth the visit.

A wonderful hotel-experience! The views & surrounding were mesmerizing, the location just perfect for a trip through alsace since it‘s close to everything while offering the calm & beauty of alsace. The staff, especially the manager, was very friendly and made us feel very welcome, even got us a room upgrade! All in all: great and relaxing stay
Maybe it would’ve been good to have hair-conditioner in the shower-supplies - but really just a very small detail.

the setting is absolutely beautiful! next to vineyards and overlooking the town. unfortunately we arrived late from our trip else we would have loved to explore the hotel more. the staff were friendly and the rooms big and spacious. the weather was rainy so we could not spend much time outside.
the restaurant is lovely with a great waiter that tried his best to help all the tables - only thing is that the restaurant is super expensive, more than a night stay in the hotel. also please note, there are two towns in France with the same name. we worked out our motorbike trip to the other town and was very disappointed that we had another two hours to ride to the town with the same name as the booking was made here.

It was a reasonably priced property with an air of elegance. The spa area is a lovely option. The room was lovely and comfortable. I was able to get an iron. The outside terrace which looked across the plain to the mountains of swiTzerland was a great way to finish a long day of sightseeing.
This is very minor and did have prior knowledge of a few days of this, the restaurant is closed on Sundays 😢 ( we stayed a Sunday for my partners 60th) but the staff were wonderful and had offered to prebook us a table in the village.

It's a great property on the Alsace Wine Route, surrounded by vineyards and wine tasting locations. It also has sauna and hammam (included in the price of the room) and what was great was that you can book them for 45 minutes slots just for yourself. The staff was also super nice and proffesional and they helped me with all my requests. The rooms were clean and confortable and the view was lovely (the old church of the village). The property also have free parking spaces.
