The rooms are very nice and clean and the jacuzzi bath was fantastic. The rooftop area is a very nice place to spend time and the location is pretty good. The laundry service was excellent, both in terms of time and value for money.
This hotel was sold to me as a 5 star hotel, it turns out that it's actually only a 3 star. I suspect that it was built as a 5 star but has since been taken over by 3 star management, hence the 5 star infrastructure. Check-in was a very long process, made longer by having to be accompanied to your room by a member of staff who will explain how much each item costs in the event that you steal something, not a very warm welcome. Breakfast is cooked to order which is good, but it takes quite a long time. In the restaurant/bar it is not possible to charge something to your room which is very poor for a hotel of this calibre.

Great location next to Laurels where there are plenty shop, bars and restaurants. The bed was very comfy, the roof terrace has brilliant views. Good breakfast.
We were wanting to eat at around 7:30pm on New Year’s Day but the kitchen was already closed even though it says online it closes at 9pm. Maybe they closed early because it was New Year’s Day and if that is the case then I sign telling guests that is the plan would have been helpful. Other than that it is a great place to stay and we were very happy overall

The room was just amazing, I liked staying inside almost more than going out to explore the city :)
Unfortunately the food (as everywhere in Medellin) consists almost exclusively of meat. The included breakfast always has some kind of ham or meat with it, it was very hard to get a breakfast that didn't consists animals. The restaurant in the evening is also rather disappointing for vegetarians, the ONLY meal on the menu thats vegetarian is pasta with pesto. For a hotel of this price range... I expected more.

The hotel is close to restaurants and the shopping center Unicentro. Transportation is easy to get. Staff is great. Breakfast is very good. Rooms are spacious enough. In general, it is a nice hotel.
They rent their 10th floor (the terrace) for events. If you stay there on a weekend (that starts on Thursday!) avoid the 9th floor! You will not be able to sleep because they have events and the noise is a lot.

Hotel Cavalta modern and special with 2 rooftop jacuzzies, bar & restaurant all on the 10th floor with a great view of the city and distant mountains. It's in a convenient location only 198 easy steps (yes I counted) to a large, modern busy shopping mall with everything you need, including a grocery store with alcohol sales and cafeteria. Dozens of retail stores, food court with more than a dozen good choices. Banking and 4 different currency exchange businesses for competitive rates all in the mall. A small park is just down the street with more outdoor food locations as you walk along the way. Taxi stand at the mall always has cars available. A busy, but safe and friendly area. 2 rooms during my stay at this Hotel. The first was 198,000 pesos and on the 8th floor, a great room, nice view, very comfortable bed, with a mini fridge that I used for beer and drinks purchased at the mall cheap, instead of using the mini bar. In hindsight this room was the best value of my entire trip. Then I outsmarted myself and upgraded to the hotel's most expensive room located on the 5th floor, 315,000 pesos for the romance of having a nice 2-person spa tub in the room. A 59% increase in price. Your mileage may vary. I didn't get enough use out of the tub to justify the added expense, but it was sweet the 1 night out of 4 that we used it. Don't forget the 2 rooftop jacuzzies, but of course they don't have the privacy of an in-room tub. An excellent breakfast, fruit juice, coffee, hot chocolate, a fruit plate and each morning 2 meal options are offered which the chef attractively plates. I noticed none of the guests tipped for the free breakfast. The waitress service was excellent. I tipped the first day and seemed to get extra special attention the following days. The food in the restaurant was very good, but I recommend getting out and exploring other options. It might be hit and miss, but there is always fun in exploring.
The hotel could use an outdoor bench and the chairs in the lobby are low slung. Hotel interior designer obviously chose the lobby chairs to be fancy with a modern look, but disregarded usability and comfort for anyone over 21. The live music in the bar was too loud for conversation and none of the staff spoke English. Actual currency exchange rates are always 6-8% less than advertised. ie $50 room = $54 so factor that in no matter where you book. A long taxi ride to airport 98,000 pesos. Consider booking 1st and or last night travel to/from Medellin in the city of Rionegro (Black-River) pop. 100,000 for variety and proximity to international airport. But I would happily stay in Hotel Cavalta again.

The breakfast was amazing, the rooms are great
The staff needs to improve a little bit and the communication with the hotel it’s terrible you cannot call them I had to send them messages thru booking.com and sometimes the answered I asked them for transportation from the airport to the hotel and they asked me for a whattsapp number to contact me and arrange this service, that never happen, if you search the hotel in google the phone number that you can see there it’s disconnected.

Breakfast is served from 7:30 to 9:30. The menu changes daily, and it's very tasty and filling! It's perfect if you need to eat in the morning and do a lot of walking around the city. We offer coffee, tea, hot chocolate, juice, fruit, and a choice of two breakfast options! We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel! For a small additional fee, we got a room with a Jacuzzi, which was a wonderful idea after a long day! The rooftop has a beautiful view of the city, and there's also a Turkish sauna and two hot tubs with hot water. The rooftop restaurant is open late on weekdays, and you can order dinner either in your room or on the roof with a view. The food is delicious, and the staff is polite. There's a supermarket and a tasty Mi Arepa cafe with local cuisine nearby. The hotel gave us a good price for a taxi back to the airport, much cheaper than other taxi drivers. It cost us $22. I recommend this hotel! I would definitely come back!
We arrived on Sunday evening. All night until 5-6 am, there was VERY loud music in the nearby cafe. We had to use earplugs (I had my own). On other nights, it was quiet and comfortable. Personal hygiene items (toothpaste and brush, razor) are provided separately. We didn't know about this.

The place was centrally located, and we were given a different room when I pointed out that the room I was initially given had dirt on the bed, stains on the pillowcases and hair under the covers. Regardless to the issue with the initial room and lack of a welcoming atmosphere, since we were there to sleep and explore and didn't really make use of the hotel, I would stay there again. The location is excellent and it's priced reasonably.
I didn't like that the bed in the initial room was dirty. It should have been inspected better. The staff could be friendlier as well. The young man who takes guests to the room was not welcoming at all nor offered to carry any luggage. He even asked if we wanted to take the stairs (with all our luggage). I just said no.

The staff from the reception were wonderful!
The housekeeping did not replenish shampoo and conditioner two days in a roll despite me writing a note to let them know. Also, it would be nice to have some staff that speak English.
