The grandure of the entire experience. The attention of the staff was exceptional. The proximity to Nanjing Lu is a major attraction.

The hotel does not accept Tap and Pay credit card facility, you need a physical card. Strange for such an exceptional and high end hotel. Also, taking a deposit of 90% is abit on the nose. Don't trust the guest? A deposit should be just that...a deposit ie 50% or less.

Colonial style, space in the room and the bath I can fit in as I am 6’1 tall. Fairly well maintained.

Hard to pick out one but it may be the outdated TV and the weak aircon. It got the room to be cool enough to be comfortable but I could still walk around naked fine with the aircon set to 15degs. I think the coldest the room got to was 23degs which still better than the 33 deg humid weather.

This is a luxurious 5 star hotel slightly old school but in a good way. Great location. 1 minute walk from east nanjing metro and the pedestrian street. 5 min walk from the bund. The hotel is lovely and very well looked after. The room is pristine and large. Very comfortable sleep as it was very quiet. There is a gym, pool and spa for hotel guests. Huge bar downstairs. We ordered room service for breakfast one day and it was really good. It was my partners birthday during our stay. We did not say anything about this but the hotel kindly left a cake in the room for us on his birthday. This was a very nice gesture.

My only gripe was the shower gels were changed every day even though they were only used once. I didn’t like this as it was wasteful.

Everything about this hotel was perfect, the ambiance as you enter is really grand, the room size was huge and had all amenities, the pool was big, the gym was okay, and the location . . . . was the best! Bang on the East Nanjing Road and 50 mtrs to the Metro station . . take a day pass and travel around Shanghai, I used to hop off at any station and walk around for a bit outside and then off to another destination . . . I will highly recommend this hotel to everyone!

The gym equipment needs upgrade and maintenance

Good spread at breakfast, including Western & Chinese dishes. Staff are accommodating and always happy to help. Nanjing Road pedestrian street is right on the next corner. The nearest metro station that connects straight to Pudong Airport is just 7 minutes walk away from the hotel. There is also a good restaurant that serves pot, noodles, and heavenly dumplings right in front of the hotel.

Make sure that before you take anything from the fridge or the offerings they have on the counter, you know how much they charge for it as its 3x the price when you buy it from the convenience store i.e. nuts - RMB 35(RMB10.58 outside), bar of chocolate RMB 35 (RMB 10).

The location of the Hotel is Fabulous. Directly across the road from the main Shopping Street. Subway entrance directly across the road. The Bund 10 mins walk away. The hotel is stunning inside and the bedrooms are massive with a very large and impressive bathroom. The rooms are so comfortable. Breakfast is outstanding. The choice of food is so good with many different options. Western and Asian. You will not struggle to find food you like.

Hotel has a very convenient location next to Nanjing Road. Very close to the Bund. Very quiet rooms, comfortable beds. Helpful staff.

I am staying at Grand Central for years and it became a bit outdated. The rooms are packed with plenty of useless accesories (f.e. different boxes) and some rooms should be renovated. The breakfasts are too simple and too Chinese. There are many Western guests are staying there and the selection of western food is very basic. The quality of food is also on average. There is only regular milk. No soy milk which is so popular in China.No juices - just drinks.

Excellent location with easy access to train stations and eateries. Helpful staff/concierge. We can’t get early check-in nor late check-out (flight was early arrival and late night departure) but they are able to hold our luggages. Room is big and bed comfortable (on firm side though) but pillows are a little flat. Breakfast has enough selections though menu doesn’t change (chef does prepare omelette or sunny side up eggs on requests). Room service available (even late night supper if recalled correctly).
