The location is great . The place is beautiful specially the bedroom area. I would come back and recommend this place.

It was a minor problem with the heat but it was easily resolved . For me personally was a missing door on the cabinet of the living room showing the boiler or gas I'm not sure and it was a bit noise. Since it was one night stay it was fine but if I had to stay longer it would be disappointing. That's why I can not say 10 out of 10 . Thank you so much , my husband and I had a good birthday celebration and your place made it happen, also thank you very much for the card and chocolates.

Birgitta was a fabulous hostess and helper. The property was perfectly located in the middle of Stornoway, just a block off of the historic harbor. Spacious, well appointed, with a central living room and kitchen for the few units in our building. The bed was SO comfortable, and the en suite bathroom was very comfortable. Windows opened to let in the breeze, and we could see over the rooftops to the masts in the harbor and the lights of the museum towers. Enchanting!

Only one thing, and it was probably “operator error”: We couldn’t figure out the bedside lamps!

Perfect central location for the restaurant and then the ferry the next morning. Friendly staff were very responsive before arrival and made sure someone was there to meet us. There was a secure shed to store out bikes. The property was very well appointed with a lounge area, kitchen and bathroom downstairs and a very comfortable bed and beautifully decorated bedroom upstairs. We wished we could have stayed more than one night. We would highly recommend.

The shower seemed to be a bit blocked so drained very slowly.

Nicely decorated room with comfortable bed and pillows. Quiet and centrally located. Excellent breakfast with a range of hot and cold foods with yummy coffee. Staff were very kind and helpful. Shared lounge area with sofas, TV, and a full kitchen was a great place to relax, enjoy a snack or a drink. We had planned to stay two nights but extended it an additional night because there was more to see in the area and we were really enjoying Stornoway B&B. Street parking is available within a block or so of the property. We arrived a bit later in the evening and parked about a block or so away, but all other days we were able to get a spot within a building or two. Very much recommend.

No negatives to report. We had a great visit were comfortable and well taken care of.

Firstly the owners have the most excellent customer service standards..not something we found on other islands! Anna and Angus communicated with us and were so helpful when we thought the ferry was cancelled on the day we were leaving. After some miscommunication on our part re our arrival time Brigitte gave us the warmest welcome when we did show up..and did not seem at all phased. Breakfasts were delicious with a varied choice to cater for many types of diets..they should be ordered the evening before. Room was spacious and warm and the bed was very comfortable. Added bonus of the use of a kitchen dining room and living area. In all we would agree that this was the best place we stayed at during our trip around Skye, Harris and Lewis. We were not sure about the parking but found a spot right outside every time we returned so this was not an issue.

We have no negative comments on this B and B and were so comfortable. Only thing that would have helped would be an extra shelf by the sink to put our toiletries on!

The breakfasts were good. The bed was comfy. Having the fan in the room was a welcome touch. We enjoyed the common area room to make a lunch and read on a particularly stormy afternoon.

We thought there would be a washing machine and booked this stay specifically for that amenity. Turns out there isn’t a washing machine and instead they offered to send out our things that needed washing. We took advantage of this thinking it would take 3-4 hours as we were told. Instead it took over 14 hours with our items brought to our room after 9pm (we were asleep) and it also cost an additional £20. In addition to that, my canvas laundry bag wasn’t returned. Whoever washed our clothes wouldn’t respond to the breakfast staff’s early morning texts to get my bag back. We had a ferry to catch and couldn’t wait around so I had to just consider this an expensive lesson and abandon my bag to make sure we didn’t miss the ferry too.

I booked very last minute and was very lucky to be accommodated at such short notice. Pre-arrival email was excellent and I was made to feel my check-in time would be as flexible as I needed it. I was met with the wonderfully cheerful and welcoming Brigette who showed me to my room. The exterior is a lovely pastel blue in keeping with the neighbourhood while the interior has a warm, vibrant boutique feel to it. I had a huge room with very large and extremely comfy bed. There are very nice touches throughout such as the Island scented diffusers and Harris tweed furnishings. The welcome booklet was extremely helpful and in particular I appreciated the comments about the next door church building, this was very thoughtful in considering that travellers don’t just have eating and sleeping needs. The hotel is located on one of the side streets in the centre of Stornoway and is a hub of activity for shops and passers by. While the hotel makes it clear there is no view my 2 windows afforded me views of the historic Free Church of Scotland building and an old merchant building. Not at all bad views and only a 2 minute stroll to views of the wonderfully picturesque harbour and famous Lewis castle. As a lone traveller on a walking holiday I did need to get some laundry done and arranged for a local collection from the hotel front door. My laundry was very professionally done and handed back to me as I was checking out. The hotel staff were very acccommodating with letting me store some items once I’d checked out while I explored Stornoway further. Finally, breakfast was wonderful. After a very good selection of cereals, yoghurts, grapefruit, juices, there follows a selection of 3 or 4 hot meals and the Hebridean breakfast is amazing. The hand-made sausages, black pudding and tatty scone were amazing. To top it all off, and in the style of some European hotels, there it also is amazing CAKE with breakfast. The breakfast fuelled me throughout the day. Thanks again !!!!

I was so glad that we chose this place for our visit to Lewis and Harris. Our room, on the first floor at No. 29 was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was really good, freshly cooked to order and with plenty of choice. I was a bit worried about not sleeping well due to the town centre location but it was really quiet. I’d happily return to this B&B next time we’re in this beautiful area of Scotland.

Check in was rather poor. After agreeing a check in time with Angus, we stood waiting outside the property for over half an hour. I texted a mobile number posted on the door and got an immediate response from Rachel who asked the lovely Brigitta to come and check us in.

They have two properties so this applies to number 32. Deceptively spacious, 4 rooms with tea facilities etc but the massive bonus is a large communal area complete with full kitchen and sofas. Fantastic

There is a security light for the metal stairs going down - much better than original stone steps. It doesn’t stay on very long unless someone stands in front of sensors waving their arms and it’s not very bright, which for those of us with sight issues is a real problem

Perfect for our short trip. Comfortable, clean and welcoming . Great staff, amazing breakfast especially the salmon rosti 😋 Much higher quality than I would expect and thoroughly enjoyed. Would definitely recommend and fully intend to return. Host was very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Room and whole surroundings were very tranquil.
