breakfast was good , well priced with a discount and no long wait , open 7-11.00 so that was good , no need for an early rise . great location on the front , not to far from old hastings and 10 minute walk to train station , room was a good size , tea , coffee , water supplied , so all good .

Wi Fi signal was poor on the terrace .

Early Spring weekend. Premium king room with Juliet balcony and patio doors and overbath shower. Wonderful views with comfortable chairs perched in front of the doors. Superb watching and relaxing. Great whilst the sun was shining. This visit was also a windy weekend watching the waves crash. Don't know if I would like that room location when people are sat out on the terrace smoking and drinking, maybe a bit smelly and noisy. Check out was 12 noon, excellent. Free car parking behind the hoteal if you get there at a reasonable time.

The hot drink facilities were rather bland and were located in a cupboard without a light. I spilt boiling water in the tiny, dark drinks recess. Rather a petty fault to mention but otherwise it was faultless.

Very welcoming from the owners to the staff, a friendly and comfortable place to stay with a simple but generous home-cooked menu, very pleasant public spaces - including the terrace if the weather permits - to while away a few hours. Best suited to an older clientele perhaps but we love it and will be back. Also, without quibble - and on the day - the owners refunded the final night as we were called home early due to family illness. It was very short notice, so they wouldn’t have been able to let the room out that night. Also they set up large TV in the conference room at our request, to watch the Euros.

Nothing at all

I absolultely loved my stay at The White Rock Hotel. I'd go back there in a second. It was a great price for the location, being literally right across the beach and from the pier! My room had a queen-sized bed, which was perfect for just me, and the room was spotless, clean and comfortable. The bathroom was spacious and super clean, and the water pressure was strong and perfect. The weather in late May is blustery and rainy, so don't be surprised by that if you're new to Hastings or your visiting from somethere other than the UK. That said, you can enjoy a nice meal inside the hotel while looking out at the ocean from inside the dining area. AND, it was quiet in my room despite the concerts taking place across the street at the pier. The staff were incredibly kind, helpful and personable. This might end up being the place I stay at every time I visit Hastings from San Francisco. It's a lovely place, and you're within 15 min walking distance to either St. Leonard's-On-Sea or Old Town Hastings. Fabulous!

The only thing I'd say I didn't like (which really wasn't that much of an issue) was that the room didn't have a small fridge in it to keep water cold. I just went to the little market next door to buy cold water in the mornings but it would have been nice to store some bottled water in a fridge. That isn't a showstopper for me, however. When in England, do as the English!

Exellent location, professional and polite staff make you feel welcome, pet friendly, great breakfast. Reccomend it!

We chose the hotel for 1 night because we went to the White Rocks Theatre which is next door. The room was a small double overlooking the seafront. It was clean and comfortable. We had a good nights sleep despite the busy seafront road. Free parking at the back of the hotel was easy. It was a Monday night and there was a limited but reasonably priced evening meal menu and a good breakfast menu with 20% off for guests. The staff were very friendly and efficient. Old Hastings is well worth a visit.

For the price we paid I can't fault the hotel.

Exceptional reception staff. Bar staff charmingly a bit forgetful but otherwise very good - friendly. Clean and fresh

Access - heavy suitcases to lug up steps - couldn't see a ramp (or down from the car park) and difficult to get through revolving door (this is probably a listed feature so I understand the difficulty). The kettle didn't automatically switch off when boiling and there were marks of mould on the curtain lining. It would be lovely to have towels that are larger (for people of "traditional" build!

Staff were extremely helpful and welcoming to us and our dog - for example, someone came out to the car park to help with luggage and there was was a water bowl and treats for the dog at breakfast. We were upgraded to a room with a sea view - and it was an amazing view! Breakfast was excellent - lots of choice, with vegan and veggie options. We were literally a stone's throw from the beach and a short walk from the old town - where we ate at an excellent pub - but we could have happily joined the lively crowd in the hotel restaurant. We wished we could have stayed longer.

Nothing! Our dog was foxed by the revolving entrance door, but staff offered to open it if he couldn't manage.

Really spacious room 3rd floor (next to the lift, though that did not disturb me.)Excellent breakfasts, especially the Greek yogurt options! Daily fresh towels much appreciated. Staff on reception and in the dining area were all efficient and courteous.

Just one incident when a towelling hair turban was removed with the towels and not found until after my departure but a courteous phone call when it was found and prompt return by post.
