The bar area was exactly as expected. It felt like a proper country pub, warm, welcoming and cosy. The staff are the heart of the business. We honestly don’t think we’ve ever stayed anywhere where every member of staff that we met were just so friendly and welcoming, especially towards our gorgeous poodle pup, Patsy (the wonderful lady who greeted us for breakfast each morning is already being sorely missed by Patsy, who sends her love). We ate an evening meal the first night and the food was absolutely delicious, as was the breakfast each morning - lots of choice, freshly made and endless supplies of coffee and fresh juice. Although some might feel the rooms are dated, the hotel part of the business was immaculately clean. The staff clearly work their socks off to ensure the bedrooms are absolutely spotless. The beds are very comfortable and the room we stayed in, spacious. The bathroom felt recently refurbished and the shower was amazing. A little of effort has clearly gone into the bathrooms and I’m sure the rooms and landing areas will eventually follow suit.
There was nothing that we didn’t like at all. It was a completely positive stay. If we were to give constructive feedback, - the carpets in the rooms/hallways could do with a refresh as could some of the room furniture. - the tv in the room was too small to see and use, but this gave chance to read my book and most importantly, sleep. - a small shelf in the bathroom next to the sink would be extremely helpful for a toiletry bag.

Loved the building and surrounding area. Loved the high quality accommodation and very helpful staff member. This lady served us breakfast which was excellent and she also ensured our teenage grandson with extra needs was catered for as he has preferences in food. A special "Thank you " to this lady who greeted us warmly in the midst of catering for other guests. She also waved us off from the carpark so we will certainly book this accommodation on our next trip by ferry to London from Ireland.
Everything was perfect. We appreciated the text we received prior to arriving outlining how we could access the building and rooms. We had arrived at Fishguard on the 23.00 ferry so our trip to London the following day was greatly facilitated by our overnight stay in Wales. We had three teenage grandchildren with us who loved everything too.

This is an old pub in a quaint village, the original building has had extensions. Plenty of character in the old pub, the room we stayed in was in a newer part overlooking the rear gardens. We loved the communal table, where people can join strangers for a chat. Sadly no one chose to join us, maybe next time... We ate food, which was good quality and sufficient choices. We liked it was well behaved dog friendly, even biscuits on the bar for them. The staff were friendly, the lady at breakfast was great, down to earth and human! Good breakfast, we really enjoyed our stay.
Easy fix, the bathroom needs a hook for a towel close to the shower to avoid walking water over the floor to retrieve your towel. The walls between the bedrooms could do with soundproofing, we could hear the occupants in the next room clearly chatting until 11pm, and again when they woke 6am. The sausages at breakfast could have been cooked a little more, just to brown them.

The pub was situated next to a very quiet road in very attractive countryside but only a short drive from the coast. Across the road was a tranquil river. Nearby was a fascinating church with the most amazing churchyard yew trees we have ever seen and a very ancient cross. The next door village had won several 'best kept' awards. At dinner I was allowed to sample several beers before making up my mind. Dinner was good and very reasonably priced. Breakfast was also good and the over-worked waitress maintained a good sense of humour.
Dreadful patterned carpets!

We loved everything about our stay at Trewern Arms. The location is absolutely stunning. We stayed in the family room which we found very comfortable. The staff greeted us warmly. We had our evening meal at the pub and we were absolutely amazed at the quality and their extensive choice for a gluten free diet. We enjoyed singing and music from another guest. Our pup was well taken care of by staff. Our stay was a pleasure from start to finish. We plan to return soon for a weekend away.
I can not fault any part of our stay.

This was a one night stay, prior to boarding the ferry at Fishguard. We were travelling with our dog, so needed a dog-friendly hotel with walks nearby. Trewern was the answer. For us the location was perfect, and the hotel provided all that we needed for one night. The staff were very friendly, and extra helpful when my wife left a bag in the room - they were kind enough to post it to us! We had breakfast in the dining room and dinner in the bar, and both were pretty good.
The coffee could be better.

Great quiet and scenic location, friendly and helpful staff, lovely room with view of lawn and trees, good bed and lighting, plenty of drawer and wardrobe space, terrific shower in well-planned wet room with the best night lighting I have ever experienced. Excellent meals, nicely cooked, both at dinner and breakfast, interesting ales available in the pub.
On two occasions, staff failed to acknowledge that we were waiting outside the restaurant to be shown to our booked table. Just a couple of bad experiences in a week of good ones with mostly absolutely lovely staff.

Breakfast and dinner were great. Room was nice and recently renovated bathroom. WiFi was really good too! Staff were lovely. Only really saw the young lady, and a different lady at breakfast but they were lovely nonetheless. Slept quite well.
Room clearly not used for a while, few bugs in bathroom. Also, quirky, hot and cold taps round the bathroom were all on the wrong way! Fun though! Just make sure you notice before the shower!

Breakfast cooked to order and fresh. The evening meal was of a high standard, but slightly overpriced. Wine selection was good and very fairly priced. All staff were pleasant and courteous.
To be honest there was nothing to dislike. Room was very clean, spacious, had a lovely outlook and a supply of extra washing products available for use. Only one regret, I should have booked two nights. Next time I will. Hotel should advise people travelling from North, NOT to take the first Nevern route signposted but take the second.

Hotel is set in a lovely quiet rural location with walks nearby which suited us as we had our dog but Newport and its facilities are just a ten minute car ride away. The staff without exception were friendly and very welcoming, only too happy to please. Our room was lovely clean and comfortable, the shower stocked with all the necessary for a shower, shampoo, conditioner, soap etc. The bar food was reasonably priced and the chips were to die for and the breakfast choice was excellent. We would most definitely stay there again.
There was nothing to dislike about a hotel run by lovely caring people.
