Familiar with set up and stsndard as been to sister hotel in Glasgow several times.

Off hand attitude of 1 of the hotel reception staff. We mentioned issue with bathroom sink so they could advise maintenance and reply was 'this is how the sink works (patronising), its a common fault, you could've taken your screwdriver to that and have fixed it'. No prompt or friendly service from same staff member another occasion, felt like we were interrupting them, they continued to tap into keyboard and ignored us waiting, bit of a sigh and sharp 'yes, can I help' etc. Felt like they were in a mood and taking it out on guests. Items left on carpet and bathroom floors not spotted and hoovered up from previous ooccupiers. Stripped bed on departure, duvet had large 'coffee' brown stain on it - yuck.

Pleasant room, despite the non-view of the light well. Breakfast very good. Bed very comfortable.

I was very annoyed, on ordering a sweet after our main course, that we were not eligible for the reduction applied if you order the two together. Surely the criterion should be the fact of ordering a dessert when you have already had, or are going to have, a main course, thus justifying a two-course reduction. Also, as an elderly person, you very often don't know if you'll want a dessert, depending on how large the main course turns out to be - a case of discriminatory ageism? In any event, the differential pricing should be made much clearer - across the top of the menu, for example, and not hidden away in the small print.

The hotel offers free parking, amazing fitness facilities and a great swimming pool. We saw people coming to the hotel just for the fitness facilities which is rather rare for hotels in general. Dinner was great but (see below). Parking is free and the area is big enough that there should always be spot for you.

At arrival there was a minor issue with checking in and we didn't receive the warmest welcome but this was resolved after a couple of minutes. The breakfast has very limited choice. If you look at all the fitness facilities you would assume many more healthy breakfast options, but there were none except some berries and Greek yogurt. Also for dinner I would expect that you could at least order some veggies on the side but that was not possible - if you picked food that didn't come with veggies you were out of luck. If you plan the visit Edinburgh centre then you either need to use car or take a bus as the hotel is far away from the centre.

The room was very comfy and clean. I particularly liked how the room was serviced every day. The shower facility was very good with hot water always available. Having a Starbucks on the property was very nice. The food was excellent, I really commend the chef for preparing the meals so well. The restaurant and reception staff were very friendly.

The hotel could have provided a body lotion with the toiletries. Also in my room the kettle had a very short cable and it could not be connected to any plug while placing it on a table or even on the floor. I had to hold it every time I boiled water. I asked the reception to change it but it was not done. This was a bit frustrating.

The hotel had everything that I needed during my stay. Staff on arrival were really helpful and friendly, and the room a really good size. The temperature was just right and I had a really good size bedroom with all the facilities I needed. Having a walk-in shower is always good, in my opinion, at a hotel. I had dinner at the hotel both nights, and the food was good. The leisure facilities are really good and I used the swimming pool both mornings and the pool, steam room, sauna and jacuzzi were kept immaculate. The staff on reception at the Leisure facilities were really good and friendly and helpful. Have to say the gym is really good also and has plenty of equipment.

The food selection could be better for dinner and breakfast. In terns of the drinks selection, I feel they could have more local craft beer on offer if not on tap in cans or bottles would be good. Loads of lagers on offer and can imagine this is for the variation visitors. You have vault city, fierce brewing, moonwake brewery, and campervan brewery with the majority with 30 minutes of the hotel. This is just my personal preference and may not be others.

Staff in this hotel are exceptional .

Should have booked bigger room . A double room too small for us . Lack of storage . No hangers for outside clothing . Only two wee drawers to put clothes in and tiny wardrobe . Very slippy shower in which water splashes all over floor therefore using up towels to dry . Would say carpets in rooms need a clean too . We were in a large party booking and most carpets could do with a good clean.

Location good, out of town so nice and quite, but good local amenities. Bus stop outside hotel, great transport links. Two double bed rooms great size comfy bed. Staff very friendly and helpful and Steven in the restaurant was outstanding going above and beyond for one of us travelling who has a medical condition.

Bedroom would be great to add two times fold down luggage stands, hook in bathroom to hang hand towel and a corner armchair as more then one adult in room and don't always want to sit on bed.

Rooms were cosy and warm. Bed large and comfy. Nice fluffy towels. Girl on gym desk on Thurs night was lovely and kind

Bins in room didn’t get emptied until I asked on day two of my stay. Pool wasn’t very warm and couldn’t use sauna as same people hogging it. Gym class too dark, couldn’t see what weights was what weight. Enjoyed body jam class and Zumba. Both instructors were fab and engaging. Eggs on the Wednesday at breakfast didn’t look very nice. Thursday and Friday a lot better.

This was our third stay at this hotel and it has become a favourite. Free, secure parking, lovely friendly reception staff, a great bar area with good food, and big, clean rooms - this time it seems we were upgraded so we had a huge room and a great view. The beds are so comfortable and the place is so quiet despite being beside busy Crewe Road South and Ferry Road. We will definitely stay here again, we love it.

If I had to be picky... the bath towels are pretty small! My partner and I are both over 6ft+ and struggled with the tiny towels!

Excellent friendly and helpful leisure staff

The Starbucks staff did not answer our question , did not turn round to answer us when they were getting ready to open. Even though it was 10 mins late in opening. We were hoping to get my elderly mum her favourite drink that you can only get from Starbucks before we went to see her dying husband in the Western General. We had to leave without the drink as had no time to wait. Even thought it was almost 10 mins after they should have opened.
