The B&B was lovely, I had a fab room with views of Dean's Village and the breakfast was delicious. Great location just a short walk from all the action and bus to/from the airport.

The only thing for me was the windows. They're very original (old push up ones) so let in drafts and rattled loads as we had strong winds on my first night. Curtains instead of roll up blinds would have been better to help with draft and keeping light out. However, I will happily stay there again if I go back.

Staff in dining room were polite, conscientious and helpful. Breakfast was delicious, lots of choice. Heating in rooms very good. Great shower and hot water, nice to have a bath also. Cleanliness good, nice towels and linen on beds. Location was within walking distance of just about all the attractions. Reception staff especially Caitlin was well informed, polite and very helpful. Beautiful historic building.

Not Being able to open a window in bedroom was disappointing for me. I am used to sleeping with window open so found that I had to turn heaters off overnight so that I could get a sense of cool air. No glassware in room for drinks. No tissues No fresh milk in room. I do not like the little long life milk containers, the quantity is too small.

Absolutely Exceptional Stay! The communication prior to our arrival, the welcome we got on arrival, beautiful room, breakfast service to accommodate my two dogs….i could go on! All the staff were so friendly and helpful. There was an enclosed garden space to take my dogs in the morning and evening to toilet. There were gorgeous little thoughtful touches throughout the stay. Every morning the staff would bring my two dogs a sausage each and would set the lounge up for us to dine with them. Would definitely return and recommend anyone stay here. Convenient area to explore!

Fabulous venue, have stayed multiple times before and always enjoyed the rooms, views and complientary hot drinks available to help oneself to in Reception. As always, a great breakfast - fabulous cooked options additional to the continental buffet, all served in the most wonderful room by friendly & efficient staff. The only issue during this stay was that the lift was still not repaired/working, meaning a long climb up 4 flights of stairs to my room on the top floor! Reception staff kindly carried my suitcase to my room on arrival. It was much easier to walk down the 4 flights than up them, after breakfast; on returning each evening; on departure.

The lack of a working lift/elevator. Hopefully this will be repaired in time for my next visit in May!

The breakfast was excellent with a good range of vegan & vegetarian options - we particularly liked the haggis. The period features were gorgeous and the history of the building was very interesting. The room was clean and tidy with the usual amenities of kettle, tea, and biscuits. It is a nice place to stay with a good location to explore Dean Village and the museums.

The shower head was a little on the short side (I was too tall to fit under it!) Also, when we came to check out, there was no way to attract any staff member's attention and they were not at the desk. We had a car parked outside in a short-term stay so wanted to be able to get away quickly. All was well in the end, but a bell or similar might be a useful upgrade.

I liked the lobby! Really nice! The food was good too and the breakfast area was really cozy and inviting. Loved the old building feeling and the lounge. We arrived a little earlier before our checkin time, the hostess was kind enough to allow us to leave our luggage at the lobby and when we came back, it was already in our room. Personnel was kind and attentive. The place its in a good nice location, and if you enjoy walking, its a 15 minute walk to the Edinburgh castle and all other sight worthy places. Good location for us.

The room was kind of too small for us. It was nice and clean but we felt a little bit clumped inside the room with bags and all. The bed was also small for a big couple like us. There is no parking near and the closest one is 15 minutes walk away. You leave yoir bags at the hotel, and then you need to drive to the public parking near Edinburgh castle and walk 15 mins back to the hotel. We like to walk, so we didn' mind, its just a little bit of an inconvenience.

Great location in less touristy West End. The building is beautiful and the staff are wonderful. The hearty breakfast was cooked to order and there were buffet options also. We had a basement room which was cozy and quiet- no view but it was the only room available when we booked. The room and bathroom were clean, with the exception of couch and chairs, and maid service daily was nice. Our stay was for a week. .Hotels and food in Edinburgh are expensive but B&B Edinburgh was,for us, very good value for money. We would definitely return.

With just some very minor fixes this hotel could be absolutely perfect! Some reviewers commented on the tired furniture in the rooms, which if they were just given a shampoo, would be lovely. The couch and chairs had visible dirt and stains but such an easy thing to fix. Consider adding plain yogurt at breakfast for those that can’t eat extra sugar.

The hotel is in a lovely building in a great location, close to Haymarket, Princes Street, restaurants and pubs, but far enough away from the main roads to be quiet. The room was a good size and comfortable. I was in a top floor room and was concerned that the water pressure might not be great but everything was fine. The cooked breakfast was good. Right amount, good quality. When I came in, the breakfast room was crowded and I thought I would have a long wait, but they were very efficient.

Great breakfast, cooked to order with a continental buffet selection in addition. Room was small but the bed was nice and comfortable. Shower was good. Staff were all awesome!! Nadir & Peter in particular were top notch! Great location - 5 mins walk from the West End tram stop.

Walls were a bit thin and the sound of others showering was loud in the mornings. The lift was OOO but we knew about this in advance so no issue (we did have 79 stairs to climb to get to our room which was great fun after a big breakfast or a day sightseeing!) The bar was closed when the new manager was on as he wasn't licensed to sell alcohol. Again no issue as it saved us a few ££s :)

The location was excellent, in a quiet area within 5 minutes walk of Princes Street. We stayed in room No 7 and had a view of the castle in the distance. The room was clean and comfortable and warm. The breakfast was varied and plentiful. All the staff we dealt with were helpful and friendly. A lovely building too we had a lovely stay.

Nothing major we could have done with a few more coathangers to hang our clothes but it wasn't a big issue
