I can not recommend Hakuna Matata staff and service high enough- they all went above and beyond to ensure our stay was prefect. Food (sushi) and cocktails at the restaurant were amazing too. A great location on Gili Air to swim and watch sunsets and enjoy the island life. Thanks to the Manager, Naomi and your incredible team for your wonderful hospitality!

would have liked a hair dryer in the room. Everything else was great

Excellent bungalow hotel, very clean, towels and linen were changed frequently. Since the hotel is located near the ocean, there was a lot of sand, it was swept away every day, so the room was very clean throughout the entire stay. Great polite staff!

we were delayed and arrived a day late, I asked the staff if it was possible to change the dates, they told me no. As a result, the dates in the booking were changed, but we were not notified, so we left earlier, since the boat tickets could not be changed. Wi-Fi in bungalow B2 did not work.

Friendly and extremely helpful and proactive staff - they took interest in what we wanted to do and gave really useful recommendations. Lovely breakfast and drinks menu. Great location right on the beach. Lovely bungalows with great AC, mini fridge, gorgeous bathroom and comfortable pool area. Room was cleaned with fresh sheets and towels every day. The hotel is on the more peaceful side of the island, but there are still some great restaurants and bars nearby (including Hakuna Matata Bar / Restaurant which had a great fire show). Away from the noise of the port and calls to prayer, but an easy walk to the busy areas when you want them.

There was very little to complain about! Only thing worth noting is that it's 15-20mins walk to the port (we didn't want to take a horse and cart due to the animal cruelty).

Hakuna Matata Resort is in front of the beach with a delicious breakfast and really good Japanese food. The room is clean and cleaned every day. The pool is a must when traveling in Gili Air. The staff were very nice with us and they gave us tips about what to do on the island. They arranged the booking of a boat for ten people to go to Gili Meno.

The air conditioning is working but not enough powerful to have fresh air during the day.

We booked this hotel last minute after extending our stay from elsewhere on the island for a really great price, so value for money for us was excellent. Bungalows are spacious and comfortable. Nice hot shower. Pool was nice with plenty of shade and sun loungers. Adjacent dive centre is the cheapest we found on the island and well run.

Location right on the beach is nice, although a bit far from a lot of the restaurants and nightlife.

Amazing and cosy bungalow near the beach, surrounded by plants and peacefulness, comfy bed and pillows, cold aircon, the cleanest place I have been so far, wonderful food and drinks in the restaurant with an amazing sunset view! The staff was great, always smiling and asking you if needed something! Loved the detail of the outdoor couch ❤️ They even did some birthday decoration for me!You don't have to miss it, if you are in Gili Air!Will be definetely back!❤️

The Location was quiet and peaceful, the staff were amazing. Cleanliness was great. Hotel, and grounds were all well maintained and immaculate. The pool was perfect. The beach Immediately in front was ideal for sitting and having a morning coffee and also for watching the sunset. From check-in to check out, all were super attentive and helpful all the time. Nur, Lisa and Satriano (as well as others) provided excellent service throughout our 4 nights. Bathroom and bedroom were great. We would definitely stay again !

Restaurant is on the pricey side, but the drinks were fine. It is a 20 minute walk from the harbour but absolutely worth it if you want a peaceful stay. Lighting in the rooms could be better but it was fine for what we needed. Water pressure on the shower wasn't too good.

Great little spot right on the beach. Just be aware that the religious (muslim I think) start praying early in the mornings 5am so fortunately for us we had a room near the front of the resort so we could hardly hear it. Towards the rear you would probably hear the praying..... The staff are great nothing too much trouble.... Fantastic sushi :)

A little more variety on the menu. Its prodominantly fresh sushi & shashimi.... The wagu burger is fab but its expensive. $30 aud.

Amazing staff who help you with everything you need. Shout out to Adhy who introduced us to the resort and the island, and always welcomed us with a big smile ! Location is perfect for sunset and everything else is easily accessible by foot, we didn't even need to rent a bike but can be arranged. The room was very comfortable, quiet and AC worked perfectly. Laundry service was fast and not too expensive.

Curtains left light shine through the room in the morning, so could be darker but other than that everything was great. This resort has reopened for a few months and is on the right track to being unmissable on the island.

Everything from the warm and professional welcome of Nour until the great restaurant service by Sentanrio and Lisa... and all the wonderful and smiling staff! Delicious food at the restaurant, yummy sushis, and coffees. The best view, especially on the sunset, of all the island. The best beach of the island as well. Beautiful bungalows well equipped and clean. Nice pool. I would not go anywhere else on the island (and I've walked the whole island many times!). Thanks Hakuna matata!
