We loved the welcoming, laid-back feel of this historical place. Our group of four had a room with four beds and our own bathroom across the hallway. Everything was clean and well-managed. There were snacks available at all times and all you would need for a healthy breakfast. We enjoyed the camaraderie of others staying at the place, mostly cyclists, and the hosts are delightful as well as providing information on the area. They were happy to store our luggage as we headed away to Cumberland to cycle back to the hotel. We stayed there again after our bike trip along the GAP.

The concept of living. The buildning was totally amazing and beautiful. Free street parking around the block. No problems in finding a spot. Great breakfast.

Bathroom being outside, still private but you need to go outside your room. Check in was tricky, instructions on where to find the keys could be clearer, put a colour light on the desk to be able to differenciate between all wooden doors and desks there are in the hall.

I stayed here with my family (my wife, my kids: 11 years old daughter and 7 years old son) as a stop point when I went back to Michigan from Washington D.C. When we arrived at the hotel fist, my family felt a bit scared about neighborhood but it was totally safe place. Easy access to Pittsburgh downtown, and you can also find a couple of nice restaurants and bars just by 3 minutes car drive around the same river side. We loved atmosphere inside the hotel and the room. Our kids loved the bunk bed in the family room. Bed mattress were very comfortable. You may have a chance to meet the hotel owner in morning time. He was very kind, nice and helpful. His dog was so cute. Unfortunately we couldn't bring bikes due to carrier trouble for this trip but I can highly recommend this hotel for bikers.

Shower pressure was week.

A big room in the entry to hang out and talk with other travellers where you could have coffee and breakfast. Very welcoming to cyclists, with the things the person travelling by bike needs - secure, place to store the bike, tools and amenities to repair the bike, multiple beds in most rooms so you can easily share with travel mates, access to a fridge and stove, etc. Also, lots of restaurants and bars within walking distance.

Bathrooms are across the hall from the rooms and you have to enter a code to get in.

The hosts were very friendly! The building is beautiful and done up really well. The included breakfast items was a really nice way to start your morning before stopping at a local spot. I would recommend staying here as long as the sounds of the city don’t bother you!

It’s feels like home. The owners are super nice and happy to provide recommendations and help if needed. The place has been beautifully renovated and the complimentary breakfast is delicious: croissants, pastries, bread, eggs and coffee or tea. Very easy to park around and close to everything.

We really enjoyed our stay at Travelers Rest! Mary-Beth and Peabody were great hosts. The central breakfast area was great for relaxing after a city trip and the hotel had a very cozy atmosphere.

Excellent stay. The Travelers rest is exceedingly bike friendly, and has a secure garage for the bikes. Breakfast is also great, as a fix your own with plenty of selection.

it was so unique! room with 4 singles was perfect for our group as we each had our own bed. facility was gorgeous. fresh pastries were unexpected!

No elevator, so we had to climb steps! breakfast/evening snacks was a bit challenging knowing what was what but the set up was lovely.

This unique property and the exceptional hospitality and sincere kindness displayed by both owners (husband and wife) made us feel like we were staying with friends. A MUST stay anytime you're around downtown.

Nothing that we didn't like--to be honest I wish we would have known about this place sooner! It's a hidden gem!
