We attended the Planetshakers conference at the MEC which was right next door. It was walking distance (<100m) to the event. My wife and I appreciated the friendliness and professionalism of the Novotel staff. The room was convenient and comfortable to have a good rest especially between sessions during the conference. The DFO and restaurants offered good opportunity to have the retail therapy (for my wife) and to dine to delicious foods.

It took us awhile to work out the AC in the room. We just called reception who were offered good advice at the time. It does take time for the AC to adjust.

The location was fantastic with a city view. The room and bed were amazing. The staff on the day made our check in swift, smooth & hassle free. The blanket was a bit short for me being 6 foot. It was an amazing & comfortable stay. Parking could have been discounted further (tongue in cheek), but the location was right next everything, DFO, amazing restaurants, crown plaza and the evening walks and the river ferries. Total stay was zing. zing, amazing!!!

In house restaurant was good and they had good menu. We had breakfast all the days and dinner there once. Breakfast was amazing and dinner had limited options for a vegan and a few more options overall could have been better.

My friend and I booked flights to Melbourne to see Coldplay which we were quite disappointed with as flights were extremely expensive and so decided to opt for the cheaper option with a hotel. We were not expecting much as it was quite cheap, which we were also disappointed with as we wanted an enjoyable experience. We were extremely surprised to find that the standard room we walked in to was in very good condition and quite fancy, with a beautiful view overlooking the highway and river. We were greeted with the most warm and welcoming concierge and our entire experience with this hotel was outstanding. Notably, the beds were extremely comfy and the bathroom style was divine.

I would have liked to stay longer, in our little piece of heaven of a hotel room :)

Very clean Hotel with very friendly staff. Bed was very comfortable and airconditioning was the best of all the places I have stayed. Breakfast was good

Having the evacuation siren go off one night, No staff around to give direction/instructions, and the alarm and evacuation signal did not stop till we all reached reception, which was not on the ground floor we had no way of knowing how to get to outside the building via the stairs. We were told when we reached reception that "we don't know what the problem is, just go back to your rooms." I did not feel safe at all as a result.

We had a fantastic stay. The woman who checked us in was absolutely delightful. Started our stay off on a terrific note. The room was beautiful and clean. We had room service, the meals was very tasty and arrived quickly, great serving sizes. The toiletries were great-wonderful smell. The presentation of the hotel and the staff were lovely. There was a good selection of lovely breakfast foods at the buffet.

There really wasn’t much we did like, probably just down to personal taste. I found the beds were too soft for me personally. Our room service order was missing a set of cutlery which wasn’t a big enough problem to call down for but I meant I had to wait for my husband to finish eating then wash and use his. This maybe picky but the atmosphere of breakfast was a little grumpy. The only reason I noticed this is because most of the staff were so friendly and kind and went out of their way to be warm and attentive. Absolutely minor things, we would still recommend staying here!

Comfortable bed, nice and quite room. Location is perfect.

Out of 3 elevators only 2 worked throught whole week! We stayed at 26 floor, we had to wait about 15 minutes every morning to get to breakfast. At breakfast there were no vegetables! I believe it is something basic which should exist at such expensive hotel. Furthermore, it seemed that the hotel was not ready to the amount of people who came to eat breakfast. Most of the time the tray with ham and cheese was empty. We asked to book a taxi to the airport at 4 am and the taxi did not arrived! Since the conseirge was not there we just took taxi by ourselves. But for such known chain of hotels to get booking reservation of taxi which did not arrived - I think it is a problem of a staff.

Parking!!!! $50? Crown do valet for $60 Breakfast……. Was horrible Honestly how do you charge that much for the most disorganised breakfast I’ve ever experienced. We were told to enter and find a table. THERE WERE NO TABLES Eventually we were directed to a table but it was full of plates and we waited 20 minutes for it to be cleared. I asked for a refund but was told the table would be cleared. The staff were Amazing. This wasn’t their problem this was an issue with not having enough staff and overbooking patrons. Paying $250 for the room was great but charging $50 parking and $70 for breakfast when crown do deals including parking and breakfast. I feel a bit disappointed. Sorry

Breakfast was good, large range to choose hot or cold but was strange having like chickpeas in a sauce and roasted potatoes in the hot buffet section with no actual bean dish or tomatoes but so much choice that that was such a small detail.

My room had a strange noise like the door was opening as was a loud creaking noise and actually had to check the room door was not being opened, also checked to see if it was the bathroom door making the noise but it wasn't, did wake me up a lot so didn't get too much sleep, may have been in the aircon space that the noise was coming from. Maybe room is haunted beware room 1312.

The location right next to south wharf DFO is fantastic. Especially with small children. The car park for the hotel is the south wharf dfo parking. They offer for $50 and unlimited exit and entry.

The access to rooms is multiple lifts, one to lobby and one from lobby to rooms, it wasn't a problem, if i had to pick anything it would be that. They have information in the room about why they don't provide bottled water and how safe and clean Melbourne water is comparative to the world, they also stated they are reducing plastic. I think this is stupid, most bottles can be recycled for 10cents. I also do not drink Melbourne water that has high levels of chlorine and fluoride. And I don't live in a third world country so having access to bottled water in my room and not made to feel like I'm being a diva for wanting it would be great.

Location, proximity to Southbank Promenade and amenities. Also located right off one of main arteries in Melbourne so easy to get to. We always get a room at a level from 21 upward so that the view of the river is just amazing. Breakfast included is also a plus as variety is great and staff is lovely.

It would have been nice to find a bottle of water in our room. Also, parking is ridiculously expensive if you think that the discounted price is 50$/day if you get the hotel to validate your ticket.
