Love the location, right opposite Catseye beach with easy access to the main pool and hotel pool. We were in a king room on floor 18 so the view was amazing.

The bathroom is very dated (pretty much original) but it was very clean. It just lets down the room as a whole as the bedroom is upgraded and looks great. The buffet breakfast was good but very busy. Reef hotel guests can go to Sails restaurant on catseye beach which was much quieter.

Overpriced for what you get, bad coffee and cold breakfast as they were to busy, ran out of cutlery milk orange juice, for $900 a night, should be silver service

Perfect location on catseye beach, great views and plenty of activities included with the rate. Rooms were spacious and quiet and easily accommodated our family of three. Lots of friendly cockatoos visiting the balcony but not being a nuisance. Beds were comfortable and daily service was efficient, plenty of towels for the pool and the room. Buffet breakfast met expectations for variety and we were quickly seated every day. Be aware they don't cater to dietary restrictions particularly well in the kitchen, lots of cross contamination in the cooking process. Overall though we enjoyed the breakfast it was great value for money and the kids loved it.

We were on the 11th floor and the rooms could do with being updated. They were clean but a little tired and the bathroom in particular is showing signs of age, no mirror in the main bedroom and no drawers for clothes . However we also had family stay on the 4th floor and their room was very modern and well appointed. We dined in the pool view restaurant in the evening and wouldn't book again. The service was very slow, menu was very limited and the food was below standard. They reduced the bill which was appreciated but as it was a special occasion we were left disappointed

We stayed in the coral view room, and the views were breathtaking. The room was clean and the facilities were excellent. The shuttle bus services to take you around the island were also very good. Airport transfers were organised well. Overall, a very pleasantly stay..

Once after making three requests, our room was cleaned, but they eventually came to clean the room. I guess if you put do not disturb sign while they do their rounds, you missed your chance, and it is a massive hotel to go around doing the housekeeping, but they did make it right So get the room cleaned whilst they are doing their rounds is my advice. Also, sometimes birds can be nuisance, but that's nature!!!!

This hotel was so tranquil for our anniversary stay. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful, room was large with 2 comfy double king beds, big clean bathroom with shower and bath, very clean and modern hotel, balcony has incredible views of the ocean and islands and with some friendly cockatoos visiting us each morning. Wallabies on the lawn at sunset. Access to all pools and restaurants. Free air-con shuttle buses to marina and one tree hill (sunset spot) every 10 mins making the island so accessible in the heat of summer. Very tranquil hotel set amongst a beautiful natural background. Very enjoyable stay, we will definitely be back and couldn’t recommended this hotel enough!!

The restaurant/ breakfast prices were a bit high but this is to be expected on an island. Food was fresh and quality though. Hissing noise heard from the frequent shuttle bus heard on the balcony but if balcony glass doors are closed noise can’t be heard at all.

Hotel is in a great location across from the main beach, and has stunning views from all the rooms. It's easy to get everywhere on the free shuttle buses. It's fun to hire a buggy but it's not really necessary unless you're staying somewhere that's not on the shuttle route. The hotel pool was nice and large although a bit boring. The resort pool a short walk away was more interesting with a swim up bar, right next to the beach, live music sometimes. There's lots to do on Hamilton island which was brilliant. We went jetskiing and hiked up to Passage Peak (lovely views up there and it's only a one hour hike from the hotel). We went to One Tree Hill bar for sunset - that's a gorgeous spot and the caprioskas are good! The room itself is tired but it was clean. There were 4 of us and it was really spacious. The balcony overlooking the sea was pleasant and there was usually a parrot perched on the rail to keep us company.

The food at the hotel was pretty average. Breakfast at the hotel was $48 so we skipped that and tried breakfast by the marina but that was very average also. So we went to the IGA to buy a toaster and bread. The restaurant options on Hamilton island are fairly mainstream so I think we'd get bored eating there if we'd stayed any longer. The best place we ate at was Manta Ray.

The room had an amazing view, large room maybe a little tired. Large bathroom shower good. Hotel ideally situated love the buggies and no cars. Breakfast good plenty of choice, never have to wait long even at peak time. We had a good meal in the restaurant. Excellent meal at Romano's service outstanding. Meal booked for my birthday at The Mariners, seafood platter lovely, service excellent apart from being hurried to pay the bill. Also they were informed it was a birthday meal but not acknowledged!! But still a few days in paradise.

Guys behind the bar need better training, one (short guy) rude with attitude, he should not be in hospitality. Other guys good but need training on making cocktails and no clue how to make an iced coffee!!

The location, the staff and all the facilities at the Reef are phenomenal. Our room looked out onto the ocean and exceeded the photos on the website . The buffet breakfast was wonderful, had a great opening time from 6-10:30am. This was definitely worth adding on as there is limited places to eat out for breakfast on the island. We absolutely loved that with staying at the Reef, included the use a majority of the water activities for free hire (SUP boards , snorkeling gear and kayaks. We didn’t need to hire a golf buggie, as it is only a short walk to the main resort hub and beach . The Reef also provided pick up and drop off to the airport , whilst holding onto our luggage on the day of departure. We would stay again and recommend to others.

This was a minor thing, but the fridge was small, and it was hard to fit in anything that we brought ( water bottles, drinks and food etc). We were aware that the hotel rooms are not self contained ,so limited options for keeping cold goods, and no option to make food (no bowls, cutlery ) . This may be an issues for some. Also, this is a family venue . A lot of kids /families around I the holidays , so was often busy at the pool and buffet .

Views and location were amazing. Sitting on the balcony with cockatoos and a morning coffee was a fantastic experience that I will not forget. The staff were very friendly. From the moment we got off the plane, complimentary hotel air shuttle was waiting for us. We appreciated having a big tv in the room for catching up on sports etc.

The rooms are a little dated. The king size bed is kind of in a weird spot in the middle of the room instead of against a wall with a powerpoint only on one side. The room and bathroom are huge and the area could easily fit some furniture with drawers to unpack suitcase and/or a kitchenette.

Breakfast was a bit chaotic, some people bypassing the queue whilst on a couple of mornings staff member who greeted us was interested as to whether we wanted to sit at inside or outside ( beside pool )... the queue was quite sizeable and sitting outside there were so many tables free...Breakfast Manager needs to become more efficient at scanning where tables are free and impact of giving people a choice.

Food was very good, cleaning of room was excellent as was the departure rooms made available to use. Male member whilst we were there was very helpful. Rooms and hotel in general look a bit tired and in need of refurbishment.
