Very good location, close to bunch of walking trails, nature sightseeing spots and attractions near Cesis and Sigulda. Great view of blooming apple trees both in yard, in front of hotel and old apple tree gardens a mile away. Polite and welcoming service with an option to order a three course dinner from local and seasonal products. Our room was upgraded to a better one, which included a balcony and was well designed. Varied and tasty breakfast, which you can choose from three options as well as self-service table for coffee and drinks. Room was equipped with a small kitchenette.

While breakfast was great overall, the variety was limited due list of items on a menu you chose, which I would recommend to switch to a complete list of dishes available so everyone can choose what is enjoyed the most (i.e. the same sandwiches, but different desserts or eggs).

Karlamuiza Hotel has only 10 rooms in a historic building which was once part of a large manor. What remains is a beautiful apple orchard where you can relax in hammocks or on one of the many garden benches spread over the garden and terrace. Our room “Karl” came with a comfy large bed, a coffee maker, tea cattle, and fridge. Everything was clean and well kept. The style was rustic, which fits to the historic building and rural location. We enjoyed dinner at the terrace - there is no menu, everything is prepared by the owner with local produce. I had asked for a pescatarian meal which was no issue at all. Our three course dinner menu cost 35 Euros per person (including water). We started with a pumpkin soup followed by trout with vegetables and a very creative apple dessert. Breakfast came with three different menus which had to be chosen the night before, and was again freshly prepared. My personal highlight was the home-made apple juice! Service was very friendly. The hotel is small and family-run, which translates into a very cozy atmosphere. Parking is available and free of charge. Cesis with its castle ruin is about 15 minutes by car, Sigulda and Turaida with another two castle (ruins) is about 30 minutes by car. Riga is about 1 hour and 20 minutes away.

Wonderful place in countryside. Apple trees, a stork right in front of our window. Nice historic location in a small village. Good location for hiking in Gauja national park. A cozy room with more than enough space. Great breakfast. Very friendly people. A genuine experience of authentic, but modern-style Latvia.

Everything was really fine. Please note only that it will be difficult to get there without a car. We didn't take dinner (which looked very good) because we couldn't say exactly at what time we would arrive, and you have to tell in advance. It's also not exactly cheap, but good value for money.

Dinner was delicious, the room with a terrace was very big, neat and cozy. Management of the Karlamuiza and stuff were very friendly and helped us with every questions. We certainly would like to express our gratitude to Biba, the head of the Karlamuiza, for her kindness and professionalism. She has organize very comfortable place for stay there and created an unforgettable celebration of the Midsummer Day. We all thank her and all her supporters and assistants who made our stay so wonderful.

Wonderful place to stay away from Riga. Located in Gauja National park near Cēsis, Līgatne and Āraiši. Our 5th stay here. Generous breakfast. Excellent quality resraurant on site. Traditional pirts ( sauna)for relaxation. Heated floor, nice terace. Coffe/tea faculities in rge room. Elegant bathroom with walk in shower and also big bath tab. Food quality linen and cosmetics.Free prking and good wifi. Easy xommunication with owners. Just perfect place. 10 of 10. Very much recommended.

Beautiful location, great coffee at reception, our own terrace, super friendly owner of the place. Super thankful for outdoor tree house for kids.

Very minor comments thats very subjective. For us too soft matraces in beds. Cold floors, had to beg toddler to wear slippers or socks all the time but as we walked indoors outdoors like all the time it was a bit challenge. However as outside it was +29 you can say it was more refreshing rather than con. Another thing, at terrace table was at very poorly condition, did not felt safe.

Although you are staying in a historic place, Karlamuiza hotel is a comfortable, cozy place to stay. We were warm in the room during the cold late autumn evenings, the bed is like a cloud, there is a beautiful hiking trail nearby, and the hosts are responsive and kind. We also enjoyed the breakfast and dinner, which was adjusted to be vegan after our request. Our dog was also welcome, for 20 EUR a night.

The kitchen in the apartment was a bit limited (not a lot of tools for cooking, such as a cutting board). However, it did have a coffee machine, a kettle, dishes, and other basics.

Beautiful country manor house in Gauja National park. Very friendly staff. Free parking, reliable WiFi. Clean and warm room. Comfortable bed. Coffee and tea facilities,fridge in the room. Lovely art and history book library for guests. Local souvenirs available for purchase. Tradicional pirts (sauna) is available for guests. Three fantastic breakfast menus to choose from. And cherry on your icecream - fantastic dinner by Chef Baiba Stepina ( Chef participant of Cesis restaurants week) not to be missed. Place is fab at any time of the year. Had been here several times for different occasions but in Christmas time it was really magical. Very much recommended. We will be back again in 2024 when conversion of the new addition to estate will be opened.

We came there for Ligo celebration (the mid summer day). The organization of the celebration was one of the greatest I have ever seen. The management was friendly and helped with all questions. Food was great. The management has invited musicians and dancers, who, in turn, invited all gust of the Karli muiza in to national dancing. It was a great fun to be there.

This place was absolutely lovely to stay in! The staff are very nice and helpful in every way. Our bike broke in the beginning of our stay and they let us borrow one of theirs and recommended a great bike service right away. We also lost and left a coat in the hotel and realized only a few days after. The staff found it and mailed it to us. Very kind people and a great place!!!
