I loved being at the centre of a seaside destination. The beach stretches for miles, 2 piers, public parks, miles of coastal footpaths, shops , cafes, safe attractive residential areas. Sunsets ! I paid extra for my own bathroom, but the female communal toilets and showers were spacious and well designed. I was prepared for the bar/street noise which was not over loud. The communal balcony was great.
I didn’t realise in the en-suite room that the windows could not be looked out of , didn’t open . For my 6 night stay there were only 2 coat hangers, wall mounted. No room kettle , however the residents kitchenette was good, spacious, always clean. Public transport by bus is frequent to CBD, but it does take 40 mins, unless you walk to the regional station at Grange.

Quirky paint job, pleasant room with character..
Being an old hotel, there are shared bathrooms. It would have been better if the staff had explained this and told me where they were located, when they gave me my key. Also, it took a few gos not to trip over the raised floor edge on the way into the bathroom! Bit of a hazard. It's been a few weeks since I stayed here, so I don't quite remember if this was a hotel where the windows don't open. I think it may have been. Makes it very stuffy when you have to rely on an air conditioner, and it cuts you off from the beachside experience.

A small premium (more expensive) for a shared bathroom pub/hotel room, but a premium (quality) stay. Nightcap have done a great job updating this old hotel and although the room is small, everything had a deluxe feel to it. Good bed, towels, desk, aircon and artwork on the wall. The welcome drink and free tea/coffee was very nice.
I was next to the male shower room which was fine but could be made quieter if they removed the door lock which was noisy in the middle of the night.

Fantastic location in nice historic building. Very clean with good bedding and comfy beds. We had a big room with en suite. Had breakfast which was great. We were warned a few times in advance of arriving that Fri/Sat nights would be noisy. That was an understatement! It's "bed shakingly loud", till bang on 2am it all stopped. Now if your a person who'd be down in the bar enjoying the action, it'd be great for you, if you want some sleep Fri/Sat maybe not. I can't t complain, I was warned about the noise numerous times in advance and still chose the Ramsgate. Would I stay at the Ramsgate again, definitely, if it was Sunday to Thursday.

Liked the character of the building, loved the look from the outside, renovation was nice but still had the original features inside, room was clean & comfortable & i liked how there were so many spaces to explore.Liked how there was a communal area with facilities which led out to a lovely balcony overlooking henley square.
It would have been nice if we could have opened our door onto the balcony. No designated carpark but luckily found a park in a back street.

Fab location right on the beach front next to lots of bars and restaurants. The room was a great size, with a comfy bed, a fridge with complimentary water and a tv. The communal bathrooms were very clean our entire stay and had spacious showers with powerful water and plenty of toilets. The communal area was also nice providing free tea and coffee and a tap with a choice of boiling or cold filtered water. A stand out feature was the large balcony that wrapped around the hotel, overlooking the pier.
Although the room seemed clean, upon further inspection, the walls were covered in dust and clearly getting skipped by cleaners. We read the reviews about noise on a weekend but living in a busy city centre near nightclubs ourselves we though it would be fine. We highly underestimated this, the music from the 'club' downstairs was ridiculous, the bass was soo loud the glasses inside the fridge were rattling and the bed shaking. Impossible to fall asleep until it was over at 2am. The room would also benefit with some shelves for extra storage.

Amazing location with walk on access to Henley Square, the promenade and the beach. The layout of the accommodation is wonderful with a common lounge area and access to a first-floor wraparound balcony. Everything was extremely easy and the staff were polite, friendly & professional.
Nothing to fault. Brilliant concept with options for everyone.

My room was clean and the bed was super comfortable. While the bathroom facilities were at the far end of the hall, they were also clean and supplied with hand and body wash, shampoo and conditioner. While the property advises Friday nights and holidays can be noisy, my room was perfectly quiet.
Lighting in the room was a little dim and the sheer curtain couldn’t be moved back to let in more light.

Beautiful old hotel that’s been given a funky facelift. Location is right in the heart of things. Our room was huge. Shared bathrooms were spotless . Nice little seating area to make a hot drink. Restaurant and bar on the premises or lots of options nearby. We stayed on a Tuesday night and it was very quiet.
No lifts!

Location was great, right by the beach and cafes. No onsite parking, only street parking, but managed to get a park close, with easy access. Room was clean and tidy, a little compact but that's ok, only needed a shower and somewhere to sleep. Loved the renovated shared bathrooms, keeping with the art deco theme but with the modern facilities. Will stay again. Had been notified the music would be loud as we stayed on a Friday night. Wasn't too bad, they played good music.
Occasional vehicles could be heard over the music.
