This hotel boasts perhaps the best location in Albir. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and we were fortunate to have one with a terrace offering stunning ocean and mountain views. The buffet, while not gourmet, provides excellent value, with diverse options that change daily. As someone who isn't overly picky, I was more than satisfied. However, it's worth noting that my stay was during the last week of July, and experiences may vary depending on the time of year.

The air conditioning could be improved, as I occasionally felt warm in my room and other areas of the hotel. Additionally, updating the furniture would enhance the overall experience.

Kaktus Hotel is in a great location, on the beach front and near a good selection of bars, restaurants and shops. The facilities are good, although this time round, we did not use them. All of the staff were friendly and helpful.

The choice of food for breakfast and evening meal was very good, but the "hot" food was a big let down as it was never hot, not even warm - always cold.

Our room for three nights was above the sea front with a beautiful view around the bay to Altea and the mountains. It was comfortable, spacious and clean. The hotel decor, with colourful balcony windshields and cloud-effect glass at the rear of the building is unusual and attractive, including a decorative staircase.

The breakfast buffet was extensive, but some items were a humdrum in terms of quality or flavour. Parking in the secure underground car park was an extra 12 euros - not a strong criticism, but worth knowing.

The hotel is spacious and was built to a grand design in 2003. The location is perfect, right on a great beach with a fair amount of nearby restaurants and beachside bars. The staff are efficient and helpful. The room sizes are fairly generous and rooms have a small balcony which gets the sun part of the day. There was a fridge (no freezer compartment for ice), but no tea making facilities. Parking around the hotel is extremely difficult. The hotel provides a limited amount of underground parking for a fee. Breakfast was really good, it was self service, and caters for every taste.

The downstairs pool was disappointing. it looks great in the pictures but in reality is difficult to access, shallow, badly designed and only suitable for children to splash around in. We didn’t like the fake grass and it was badly situated for sun/shade. Not an area you would want to relax in. The water itself looked clean but the dirty tide mark around the edges, caused by suncream, needed serious attention. The roof pool was just as uninviting. I believe this may be a jacuzzi but it did not appear to be working. If you’re looking for a great poolside experience, then this is not the hotel for you. No room service and the bar was reluctant to give me crushed ice.

This is a gem of a hotel. We returned here for a second year and enjoyed it just as much. We were a party of four, 2 young adults and my elderly mum and myself and there really is something for everyone to enjoy in beautiful Albir and the Kaktus Hotel is the perfect base from which to explore. The buffet breakfast, lunch and dinners are exceptional quality and value and all of the staff are so relaxed and friendly. A special thank you to Faran in the bar who kept the cocktails coming and was so friendly and professional! We will be back!!

Everything was wonderful, no complaints.

The location of the Hotel Kaktus was fantastic. The staff were very professional, helpful and friendly. The Buffet was good with plenty choice of food. The room was a great size with a sofa to sit on too.The water was lovely and warm, so was the room. There was also a quiet fridge which was very useful in the room.

The beds were not very comfortable and I wanted a double bed but it had twin beds...not happy about that. The decor of the room was a bit dated. The shower over the bath didn't work properly due to it needing a new shower head. The bath tap was turned into a shower hose and shower head so you weren't able to have a bath if you wanted to.

Room was nice, cleaning was good, all empoyees are very nice and pleasant, breakfast was good, location was perfect, right next to the beach and on the street with many restaurants and shops. Very nice overall.

There was not enough sun beds next to the pools, so people had to stand in the queue, sometimes for 30 min to get good beds in the shadow. So, I would add more sun beds and more parasols next to the pools. Also, there was some green substance in the water in the pools, very visible on the edges of the pool in the afternoon/evening. This green substance colored our swimsuits and toys. I guess it's either some cleaning or disinfecting substance.

The location was fantastic, right outside the front of the hotel was a walkway and then the beach. The staff where so helpful from the start ,from reception booking in to the restaurant and bar staff .The area of albir is beautiful and is right beside altea which is also beautiful, the sunrise from our balcony every morning was just fantastic

Great choice of breakfast foods and drinks. Loved the location, right on the beach front. Views from our balcony were wonderful as we had an end room. Bedroom was a very good size.it was spotlessly clean. The outside pool area was clean and the pool was refreshing. The roof terrace offered a great view around the area and offered a heated pool. All the staff were friendly and accommodating.

Excellent location, direct access to the beach and easy walking distance to all shops, restaurants & bars. We didn’t use the car the whole duration of our stay.

Bar prices. I bought a glass of wine at the bar and paid around 3€ a glass. Decided to take a bottle to the room so asked for a bottle of house white to be charged to the room & I’ll pay on checkout. €18.00! For that bottle of wine. So 750ml bottle is 3 x 250ml measures @ 3 euros a glass sitting at the bar = €9 get the bottle to take to the room and it’s €18.00 doubled in price. Thought that was daylight robbery.
