Staff were very helpful and accommodating, orienting us to the area at check in, and answering any questions we had about the town and area. This property had parking which was a big plus. Warning however, driving in Lucca is challenging like any walled city and it took some maneuvering to get down the street to park. The property is centrally located and right off the main shopping and walking street. We could easily walk to many dinning options and everything of interest. Breakfast was very good. My husband loved the fresh squeezed juice and baked apples & I loved the pistachio cream croissants. Also offered eggs and other more traditional European breakfast selections. This property also has a small lift which was a plus.

I marked down on cleanliness only because the halls and rooms look like it could use a new coat of paint and also some bleach in the bathrooms to handle some small mold areas. It is not too bad, but the property just looks a little worn out and could use some freshening. We would stay here again if we were in the area because the pluses were much more than the negatives

This is a cosy and quirky little boutique hotel in the heart of the old town, tucked down a quiet lane but less than 100m to the main thoroughfare. The reception area is set up like a cosy sitting room, and the friendly, helpful staff are wonderful without exception. We were there 2 nights and had 2 excellent dinners at nearby restaurants organised by reception. Room was huge, as was bathroom. Very comfortable and tasteful. Under the rafters, which I like. Breakfast offered great variety and freshness. You could juice your own blood oranges and lemons, and they had an amazing array of fresh home baked cakes and pastries. Stay. You won’t regret it.

I could go on for days about how much we loved this perfectly located boutique hotel. The staff gets it here! We were met at the front of the hotel by the staff to help grab our bags out of our rental car, and took our car to the conveniently located car park literally right across the street! The hotel is a perfect mix of antique charm, and modern comfort! We were blown away by the amazing breakfast spread and one morning after a day of exploring we wanted to sleep in a little and the staff put together a great tray to take up to the room. Whenever we needed out car we simply let them know, the lifted the gate and off we went. We loved this hotel and the people to run it and it will forever be our go to for Lucca which our new favorite Italian town. Grazie Mille per tutto! A presto!

LOVED EVERYTHING

Tucked away in a quiet alleyway in Luca, away from the hustle and bustle, is the most welcoming inn!!! Private parking way close to this little gem. Hotel Alla Corte degli Angeli is meticulously (and a bit eccentrically) decorated with period antiques throughout. The entire staff was more than friendly, helping us with directions, providing information about Lucca and giving us tips on interesting places to visit. In our 3 weeks of traveling Italy, this was by far the best breakfast with an amazing and abundant spread of healthy organic products (a fresh juicing bar!!!), homemade artisanal breads, cheeses and pastries, free range eggs snd so much more! We will most definitely be back and highly recommend this treasure to all who want to be pampered. BTW, to be able to relax at night in a hot jacuzzi soaking tub was as close to heaven as it gets-

The hotel was really lovely - situated within an ancient building but featuring modern facilities like the fabulously spacious bathroom with spa bath and separate shower as well as the beautifully painted frescoes on the walls of the bedroom. The breakfast was plentiful with such a wide choice on offer and all beautifully displayed - it really did exceed expectations. The staff were very helpful and the location was really great being just off the main shopping street and close to the historic walls of the city.

Being from the UK we are used to having an electric kettle in the room. We had forgotten that this is not necessarily the case in Italian hotels. This additional feature would have been a bonus.

Everything was good or grreat except that they did not supply us with wifi in our room. We called and the guy came u b ut still could not ake it work. On checkout, the manager said we were supposed to tuse the ""Apple" wifi, but the guy who came to help us said it did not work, I tried it and indeed it did not work. Beds were OK. breakfast was GREAT !

Fabulous hotel. Full of olde worlde charm (the frescoes are amazing), yet the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was modern. All very clean and quiet. Staff very helpful and friendly. Breakfast is tasty and plentiful. The magnifying mirror in the bathroom was useful too. Secure parking at €18 per night N.B. You will need to drive through ZTL area but reception will take your license plate and give you an exemption. I don’t think the hotel description does justice to this hotel - it’s fabulous!

It would have helped to have known that we could enter the ZTL area with an exemption.

Great location in the heart of the Old Town. Fascinating hotel full of antique and collectables which create a wonderful ambience. The walls are covered in beautiful murals. There is a little courtyard where you can take breakfast if you wish. Breakfast was superb with a fabulous choice of fresh and baked items. So nice to have a beautiful China cup and saucer and a lovely teapot. Great to see gluten free products a standard alternative. Very comfortable and clean bedroom with the added bonus of a jacuzzi bath . Lucca was a vibrant and intimate place to visit, full of old charm with lots to see and do. The 4km walk around the outer walls provided the views of the hills and mountains in the distance - an easy walk and so nice to do. We were there on a Sunday when a great antiques market was held which was so interesting. In the early evening there was traditional dancing in the Square followed by flag throwing which was so entertaining. All in all Lucca exceeded my expectations and the comfort and quirkiness of our hotel just provided the best stay possible. Loved it and would definitely visit again and recommend.

Hotel had a great location in the walled, historical old town and offered parking options for vehicles at a very favorable daily rate. Parking is important in this area. Area was great for shopping, dining, and sightseeing all within walking distance of the hotel. Hotel was a historic building, but offered an elevator to reach rooms. Staff was super friendly, helpful, and offered good recommendations for dining. Best of all, the bed was super comfy!

Getting to the hotel was more challenging than expected when the weather impacted our GPS directions. Be sure to get the hotel's detailed directions before your arrival. They saved us! Buffet breakfast was very good, but the breakfast room was a bit congested and would benefit from some changes.

Good choice of foods at breakfast, freshly squeezed juice, fresh coffee. Staff were really helpful and friendly. Recommended restaurants etc. Great location in Lucca but quiet. Out of 8 hotels this was the nicest one we stayed in. Not the fanciest but the nicest one. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

Better shampoo and body wash. I left my own in the previous hotel and had to use theirs. It was not great. I also like a face cloth to use but there weren’t any.
