Super centrally located and nice vibe of the city. Staff was welcoming and helpful.

Everything is a bit dated, floors are squeaky, walls are thin and ceilings have funny shapes, it’s quite hard not to bump at least once. Parking is a nightmare around the area, the hotel does not have any reserved spot.

Location. Staff. The room was clean and warm.

The bathroom needs a shower curtain. It costs so little and it makes big difference.

The Council is a charming hotel in a historic building in the heart of Sibiu's Old Town with terrific views onto Piața Mică (Small Square), the Bridge of Lies and Council Tower. The room we'd booked was supposed to have air conditioning, but it didn't work so they upgraded and moved us to a spacious suite that was very grand. The room rate included a very good, full breakfast with choice of eggs. We were grateful they accommodated our request to have breakfast served earlier so we could catch a morning bus to Astra Museum.

No complaints. The hotel staff was very responsive to our needs and requests. Given the central location, expect the square to be lively well into the night, especially over summer weekends.

Very nice house of medieval origin in the heart of Sibiu. For those who like old buildings with a special atmosphere, a stay here is highly recommended. The team was very friendly and helpful. We arrived after the check-in deadline, but we were able to book our accommodation comfortably thanks to the accurate information sent in advance. The breakfast was delicious - lots of options and good quality (feta, vegetables, cold cuts, boiled eggs, bread, butter/jam, yoghurt, fruit, milk, cereal, coffee, tea, juice, and eggs to order/egg omelette). Other times when we need to stay in this town, we will definitely book here.

As there was no lift, we had to carry a little bit to our room, but in a monumental building in the main square, this is a very forgivable "sin". :)

Very nice location, next to the city center, the room was very warm and cozy, we had to turn off the radiator from the room because it was too hot :) Breakfast was good, with many options, overall it was a nice one-night stay. We found parking rather far from the hotel, but that depends on the time of the arrival, the day etc. but it's good that the hotel gives you the streets on which you can park

Great location and tasty l, plentiful breakfast. The bed was comfortable and had a good night sleep. The air con was efficient and kept us cool

The bathroom was a tricky affair.... the bath was child size and had a plug that didn't hold the water so was useless and the shower couldn't be used properly without flooding the bathroom as there was no curtain or anything. The basin didn't have plug and my wife dropped a bottle lid by mistake. I had to proceed and do some plumbing by removing the pipe under the basin to remove the lid and install the missing plug - one of those attached to a metal rod - so nobody has to lose anything down the drain. Also, one of the lights witches in the room was broken and the live wires were exposed!. Great shame as this was meant to be a superior room in a 4* hotel. The owner of the hotel needs to say thank you to their staff for saving the day and being as nice as they are.

Great location, secure entry, parking was close by, and surprisingly easy to find in Oct. Breakfast was delicious, - lots of options and good quality (feta, veggies, cold cuts, boiled eggs, bread, butter/jam, yogurt, fruit, milk, cereal, coffee, tea, juice, and eggs to order/omelette) Receptionist Claudia was very friendly and helpful. FYI - wifi password is on a sign by the checkin desk. Offer currency exchange but we didn’t use it, *** Found out that there is a Sibiu City App, which is FREE and includes audio guide in English, German, and Romanian, has info on parking, events, restaurants etc. but we just used it for the audio guide. :) **

Bathroom was clean but it’s tiny. Due to the slanted ceilings, there’s a lot of empty spaces near the walls. Not a problem, but layout is a little odd. Possible downside- not very accessible for anyone who has a problem with stairs. Or very tall people would hit their head.

People were very friendly. It was a last minute booking and we arrived very late, they were super helpful and left instructions in English on how to get in and get to our room and all the details needed.

Could have done with a bigger duvet as it was a bit small for 2 of us. Partner had an achey back from driving and struggled to gwt In the bath to shower as he was too tall to stand in the bath and shower.
