When we arrived at the hotel, we were warmly greeted by the receptionist. The staff continued to be very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The room was perfect for our four night stay; clean, comfortable and cosy. Loved the fact that the room had a bath! The location was great. We'd travelled by train so very convenient and only a short walk to the city centre. Even after check out, the staff were extremely helpful in letting us store our luggage as we waited for our train home. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Grand Hotel and would definitely stay again.
Nothing.

Location. Clean. Comfortable
Breakfast staff not very discrete . Loudly saying my name and not paid for breakfast. Even though I had receipt and then saying the amount is incorrect. I had to go to reception with receipt and no apology from waitress. Very mean on hot drinks - only tea and coffee. Any other hot drinks were charged for at £3 a go. Had to wait every time for top up of coffee. Very small cups. Toast turned to fried bread as placed under fried eggs. Asked for ketchup had to wait 10 mins as in kitchen. Totally mixed up orders for two tables - only three tables had people sat waiting.. a bit of fawlty towers. Apart from toast - quallity was good for cooked items Cereals and pastries not labelled . Croissants were filled with green nut cream and were not fresh!

Great central location and opposite the train station. Food and drink varieties were excellent and we took advantage of the Tapas and free glass of wine on the Wednesday evening. Breakfast was good and filling but could have done with regular stocking up of the fruit available in the continental section.
Unfortunately the lift broke down on the Tuesday. We had no problem using the stairs but some people struggled. However staff were always on hand to help. Bed was a little small in the classic rooms for a couple especially if one of you has a rugby players physique

The breakfast was good
We stayed Friday to Monday and on Sunday morning we decided to go to the bar to have a drink before going for a walk only to be told there was no table and we would have to sit in the foyer.Si when we return we noticed a table and sat down only to be told.We could only sit there for a hour my husband said to the waitress he thought we would get better treatment as we were paying to stay there so back to the foyer we go . Before we went to our room.My husband asked the manager what time you were serving food in the evening and was told from 7 o'clock. So we went down at 8 and was told there was no food being served. Which we were annoyed about because we then had to go in search of something to eat

The hotel is located opposite the train station, so it was easy to find and also leave to get the train. It was around a 5 minute walk into the city centre. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel was well maintained and had a warm , welcoming appearance. Our room was a good size and was clean and comfortable. We had our window open most of our stay and it wasn't too noisy or cold in the room. When we had issues getting the TV remote to work we asked someone on reception and it was rectified straight away and they told us what we needed to do. Our room was on first floor and there wasn't many stairs to go up and the stairs that were there were carpeted and easy to go up and down. Really enjoyed our stay here , so much so we've already booked the hotel for our next stay in Swansea

The stay started badly as we had a tiny room with a double bed in it taking up the whole room which looked like a single, with no space to put down our cases or to store our belongings. As we had booked for three nights this was unacceptable. I asked if the room could be changed and a member of staff said they would look into it. However when we came back from our evening out (admittedly quite late) there was nobody on reception and nothing had been done. We then spent a very uncomfortable hot night as if we put the aircon on we couldn't sleep because of the noise. The next morning I asked again for the room to be changed and this time somebody did something about it. Of course we then had to go back upstairs and pack our bags; we were given a new room key and told when we came back our luggage would be in the new room and in fact it was. The new room was twice the size with a king size bed and space to put down suitcases. We got clean towels each day which we hadn't asked for which was a pleasant surprise, and very nice biscuits and a good selection of tea and coffee.
See above. Also, neither room had any storage other than a wardrobe, and in the second room the wardrobe was partly blocking the window when there was space for it elsewhere. There were no chests of drawers in either room. We couldn't get a radio station on the TV in the second room for some reason. The room keys didn't work and we had to go back downstairs to get them reset. The view from the first room was of a rubbish heap next to the car park. The second room was at the front and as it was Saturday night it was very noisy.

A return trip for me and first time for my daughter. We had a very long train journey with further travel to complete so we stayed overnight to break up our journey. It was, as usual, fabulous. The room wasn't as big as my solo trip previously but still beautiful. Breakfast was wonderful, veggie options catered for and in such pretty sorroundings. I will Definately stay again the next time lm called to Swansea.
I couldn't find fault at all. Maybe if l was being REALLY picky the noise from the road but as it's a city centre hotel, you would be hard pressed NOT to hear anything outside.

I liked the staff and the location. It was perfect for what I was looking for on this vacation. Welcoming of parents and grads alike.
It would have been better if I had 2 beds as requested. For an above $700 pound stay I should not have bee charged $10 pounds for arriving a little early after a 14 hour travel time. Food, drink and hotel costs should not have gone up because of graduation week. If anything it could have been more economical.

The summer had just hit when we arrived in Swansea, and we were hot and irritated after a long drive getting to the hotel. The staff were so friendly, and the lobby music was calming and casual as well as cool. The room had great air conditioning, and that was a big plus for us straight away. We had a room with a view of the city and a balcony to sit out on. We dined on one days there and the food was fantastic. Swansea was so beautiful, and the weather was amazing. I was very sorry to be leaving
There was people's hair stuck to the carpet and bed throw. There was dust on the counters and on top of the fridge
