Only a ten minute walk from the city center, and you can take a beautiful path through the park. The views from the rooms are enchanting. Breakfast is good, and the lobby offers great prices on top quality beverages for the room. For an exquisite dining experience, you can hike up the hill for a breathtaking sunset and the remarkably delicious Dattler Schloßbergrestaurant. After dinner, you can leisurely ride the Seilbahn directly into the city center for a night on the town.

Checkout was a bit earlier than usual (9:30am). Also, if you are taking public transit, you'll want to hire a taxi as the property is not very accessible when schlepping luggage. I took the tram to Europlatz then found a taxi easily for only a few euros. In the end, it's still a great location and positively beautiful.

The staff was very nice, allowing me to do early check-in and late check-out. The hotel's location is perfect if you plan to climb the mountain of the black forest. The room is spotless and has the basic things you need. They serve a delicious apple from their own garden for free, which is very tasty. Overall, I like the policy of the hotel that is built on trust and open hospitality. I felt that I'm a guest rather than a client.

The room is small, but it was fine for a short stay. It is difficult to reach the hotel by public transportation; you need to walk for 15 minutes or take a taxi. I don't mind walking, but this hotel is not for you if you cannot walk long distances, please note that the 15-minute walk will be climbing a mountain (not flat walking).

The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. It's a beautiful and quiet location. The rooms are reasonably large, and the bathroom section of the single room is really spacious and comfortable for a budget hotel.

It's only just walking distance out of town, something like 25 minutes. It's up a hill, so a taxi or car is required if you don't have backpack luggage! The walk was really beautiful though.

Excellent, friendly check-in with Bridget, wonderful breakfast, good hot shower, and nice sized room, comfortable lounge, free parking, honor bar with beer and wine. Great place!

The location was only about 15 minutes, mostly downhill, to town, but the return was mostly uphill with some steep grades. You got a workout returning on foot.

Very nice and tidy hotel just 10/12 mins walking away from Freiburg's downtown. The rooms are clean and very comfortable, during the evening/night it is so quiet so you can relax very well. Breakfast is excellent and delicious. You can also park your car. Perfect deal for the price paid.

This was an excellent surprise during our month long travel. We loved it enough to extend our stay. Great staff and facilities. Outstanding breakfast with great variety everyday. It was a beautiful location with views overlooking the town. But easy to walk to the center in 10 minutes.

It was a bit of a struggle to carry your luggage from reception to the room due to slopes. For the same reason, it is not easy to rely on public transportation to reach there.

Although not far from town the hotel seems a little out of the way. The walk up to the hotel is quite steep & may not suit less ambulant people.
