We had a great stay at Hotel Aldan. There was plenty of free parking, and the hotel was so centrally located in Seydisfjordur (walking distance to the rainbow street, the main reception and restaurant). The room itself was decorated in an antique-y style but was clean and the bathroom was very modern. The bed was very comfortable, there was a kettle with free tea and coffee, and we had a great view out to the mountain. Check in was fairly easy although located in another building.
The upstairs room had some quite active children staying in it and you could clearly hear them running around. However, we were not disturbed during sleeping hours.

The hotel was beautiful and very well put together. It was quiet and the view went out to nearby trees. The village was also very stunning. The room had everything we needed. Also, I like how simple the check out process was.
The person wo checked us in seemed very stressed. We didnt feel very welcome when we first arrived. Other than that the check in went smoothly. the wifi was open, without a password. I didnt want to connect to an unsafe network like that,

The hotel room was great for families with smaller kids - in addition to the main bed, there was a double bed in an alcove for the children, which they got a big kick out of sleeping in. The room was very clean and we liked the old furniture that gave it character. But otherwise, the town is beautiful and the hotel was incredibly convenient to hikes, shops, and restaurants.
The only downside was the mildew smell in the bathroom, which was overpowering enough we had to keep the bathroom door shut. Could be as easy as a change of shower curtain, I feel bad mentioning it but it was noticeable.

We stayed in The Bank building which is a short walk from the main reception area. The location was excellent as it was very quiet and just at the end of the famous Rainbow Street. Check in was swiftly done at the main building and we accessed the Bank and our room very easily. Our room was clean, comfortable and we had a very good night's sleep there. The ensuite shower was exceptionally powerful and I had to check to make sure I still had my tattoos when I finished!! Hotel Aldan was ideal for us and perfectly located for seeing the sights of Seydisfjordur.

This is a lovely renovated Bank building in the heart of Seydesfjordur, a very charming fjord town in Northeast Iceland. We loved the room. It was very comfortable with a very nice bathroom with a shower.
There is no elevator, so it is necessary to carry your bags up steep steps. Also, the fire alarm went off in the middle of the night. Fortunately, there was no fire and a guest was able to find the control panel and turn off the alarm. There is no staff located in the building. Check in and food service is located in another building in town.

The upgraded us as there weren't many tourists during the off season. We were even warned that there a no open restaurants beforehand so we could prepare. Our Keycode allowed us to enter a seperate vuilding with a small little honesty bar and snacks. All in all a lovely old hotel with really nice rooms and extremely pleasent hosts - would love to come back during the summer.

We arrived a little later than planned due to very difficult snow storm weather, but we were still greeted at reception at 11pm, with a smile and polite conversation. Stunning location and lovely room. Thank you for recommending the Fulling Station for breakfast… absolutely did not disappoint!!
There was nothing not to like… the location is quite secluded and driving through blizzards and fog at night made it a challenge to get to, but it was a fully pleasant stay and we hope to return in a summer season. The shower needs a little attention, as the head would not stay in position on the pole, kept dropping… mini fix and minor constructive feedback.

a nice historical place to stay in this town, strongly recommend this place. We happened to be in a storm when we arrived, and the staff were very nice and instructed clearly about our room, and where to eat, and was very helpful. The room was inside a historical building just next to the blue church! The room was just as shown on booking.com, and the bathroom was clean and tidy. Breakfast at the local gas station is strongly advised!!!!!
No elevator to our room on the second floor, but I think this is tolerable for a historical building like this.

We had a lovely stay here. Very quiet, clean and comfortable with a powerful shower. We checked in at the main hotel but it was only a 3 minute walk to The Bank after getting our key. We didn’t have breakfast but it was offered. Teas in our room were a nice touch!
The curtains could have been a bit better at blocking out the light.

easy parking, nice coffee and tea service and small fridge very much appreciated. Centrally located in thus small seaport town
Town of Seydisfjordur was cute but was a but boring —but had some lovely hiking nearby. I would probably do this as s day stop and stay in Egilstadir if I could do it over again. Also the trip between these two towns has a treacherous pass that would quickly be closed in inclimate weather—and I would rather be stuck in Egilstadir than Seydisfjordur
