Exquisite location, ambience and decor. Old with a modern approach. Log fires, attentive staff, clean and quiet rooms. They totally understand special dietary requirements so as a coeliac I had the full choice of the menu but a gluten free version prepared especially by the chef for both breakfast and dinner. The room was a superior, the bed was huge and super comfy, shower and bath in the bathroom and plenty of freebies, cocktails, snacks and suchlike.

Hard to get the temperature right in the room. I left the aircon running at 20deg but overnight the large radiators came on full chat and I woke up extremely hot in a dry room.

Wow, what an understated, unpretentious beautiful little gem of a hotel. We loved our stay here. The facilities were excellent, hotel and setting beautiful, and food delicious. The best thing was probably the staff - so welcoming, thoughtful and impeccably trained. We would definitely recommend it and come back.

The food was very tasty but overpriced and portions small. The breakfast is excellent, but we had an omelette that was anaemic, bland and a little undercooked. The hotel is a little dated in places, but overall very beautiful and well-looked after.

Best thing about our stay was definitely the staff! They were really helpful and sympathetic. We were treated really really well - above average. It made us feel really welcomed. The room was fantastic- very clean and spacious. The Cedar restaurant is amazing! The food and the service exceeded our expectations. The spa area is perfect - really clean, modern and spacious.

We were a bit disappointed with the food from the bar area. First time we’ve ordered the gnocchi and it was really salty. During the second time, we order a pizza (it was ok) and a burger (this one I’d recommend). The service was great though!

The whole experience was amazing! The staff were so friendly and accommodating, they made us feel very special and remembered the smallest details. The food in the Cedar Restaurant was amazing, every dish was beautifully presented and tasted fantastic. Breakfast the next day was lovely too. We had a very comfortable stay and loved our room being across two floors. The spa facilities were amazing, not too busy and lots of different spots to chill in.

Honestly can't think of anything! Amazing place :)

Very professional and friendly staff and always attentive. Room very comfortable with lovely view of the cedar tree and the gardens. The bathroom larger than usual with a bath and a decent size shower too, lots of shelving for ladies to put their make up and cleansing products. Ate in the bar restaurant in the evening and the ambience was lovely and the menu very good too.

Car parking some considerable walking distance away from the entrance to the hotel for guests

Spa was fabulous - loved that you could order drinks whilst in the outdoor jacuzzi. Also a good variety of different types of saunas (about 4 I think?) Staff were all really friendly. Greeted with a glass of bubbles on arrival. beautiful building and grounds. Amazing breakfast. Had a brilliant stay overall and will definitely visit again.

everything was pretty great except (and it's quite minor)Pool could have been slightly bigger - there were two people already in it doing lengths - and there was barely room for me to do them as well.

Peaceful location with good facilities. All staff were excellent and extremely polite.

We understand that the property is a Listed Building, which posed restrictions on alterations, but there is no lift (elevator) and we were staying on the third floor with quite a lot of heavy bags. We were given help with our bags, but the stairs were very narrow. We were staying during unusually hot weather and our room did not have air conditioning. Two fans were provided, which gave some mild relief, but the heat really detracted from the enjoyment of our stay. We learned later that other rooms in another part of the hotel did have air conditioning, but this was not pointed out to us at check in, so make sure to ask before booking if you care about room temperature. To be fair England rarely has weather hot enough to make air conditioning necessary, but unfortunately it was last week.

The location - we just had a one night stay - we were visiting Silverstone the next day so this was ideal. We ate in the restaurant which was excellent and there was a good range of options for breakfast too. The hotel is very atmospheric and wished we’d had more time to enjoy it. All the staff we met were friendly and professional.

The WiFi wasn’t great and we struggled with the EV charger…after a 4 hour journey this was a concern

Such a beautiful location and the room was breathtaking. The food was all excellent and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The spa was lovely albeit I'd say small-ish and still quite busy even though we went midweek.

Treatments were lovely and relaxing, staff were wonderful again, but in my opinion just a bit overpriced compared to other places I've been.

The room is very spacious, the bed is very comfortable, and the staff are beyond accommodating. The food was lovely and everyone was attentive to our needs, we were given boots for our walks and even got a snack bag for the train ride when we checked out.

I tried the massage in their spa and I feel it could be better.
