Location location location. Every room has a balcony that faces the ocean and boardwalk. It’s a well-kept older hotel and is super clean. We have stayed here several times. If you choose to cook, there is a fridge, microwave and coffeemaker. They also have coffee in the lobby. The rooms have basic motel furnishings (if you prefer luxury, there are more expensive places in VB) but you aren’t going to find a better value and cleaner place for your money. In the mornings, look for the man with 2 large black dogs near the beach stairs to the left. We always enjoy watching him exercise them on the beach. We’ve seen him every visit since the dogs were puppies and it’s amazing how well he has trained them. Also, the horse rental place is just down the beach. They’re fun to watch, too.

Not a big deal but I didn’t like the new cable provider (I don’t like changes, lol). I couldn’t find a guide on any of the channels, nor could I find local stations for news and weather. I wish there had been a printed channel list in my room.

We loved the location. We were right on the beach. The view was amazing. We didnt try the breakfast mainly because we slept past the time and my daughter is a Dunkin fan and was givin gift cards to use, so we would take the short trip down to grab something before heading out. We loved being able to stay parked in the parking lot and walk to the different stores. The bed I slept in wasn't to my liking, but I have back issues. My daughter said hers was very comfy. The pool was nice as well. We loved being able to walk out the door right onto the boardwalk. There was a spot where you could rent bikes. Can't wait to stay again to see what the resturant they are working on, will be. Our room had a counter section that had a sink so if one of use were in the bathroom but needed to use a sink, we still could.

Only thing we weren't really thrilled with is the fact that you have to go outside the hotel to get into the pool area.

Ocean Resort is our favorite place to stay in VAB. Here’s why: Rooms are always immaculate, beds are comfortable, rooms are large so we don’t feel claustrophobic, the rooms have a kitchen counter which makes everything easier and more organized, the rooms are quiet, the staff is usually courteous and helpful, and last but not least, the beautiful view of the ocean and boardwalk from the large windows. We visit several times a year. Hubby has Alzheimer’s and they usually allow us to have the same room or at least the same floor and this very helpful. We come in the winter months when VAB isn’t as crowded, yet there are always people on the boardwalk for hubby to enjoy watching. It’s a wonderful winter retreat for both of us.

I loved the location, with the hotel being on the boardwalk we were literally steps off the beach. When we got upstairs to our room we were pleasantly surprised, my 4 year old grand daughter said Gigi it's beautiful😁😂😅!!

I felt like after driving 5 1/2 hours through a couple of storms and finally getting there to No parking because the parking lot was full was a downer. So after unloading the truck with my husband and waiting for a cart to get our luggage upstairs was kind of the pits. But overall, it was a nice stay.

Room was Clean and staff very nice. Bed was comfy.

The elevators were very slow. I think there was only 1 working out of 2 elevators. Didn’t like that it didn’t have a private balcony.

You are right on the boardwalk with all rooms having a balcony facing the ocean. The area has many restaurants and other places you can walk to. The location is great. The hotel is an old one and is slightly worse for wear, but not in a way that mattered to me at this price. It is a real bargain.

This site asks when you might arrive at your hotel. I usually answer, even if I will be early for check in. Normally. when I arrive I might say "I know I'm early but..." and the desk man says "Don't worry sir, your room is ready for you." Evidently, Booking.com sends my arrival time in an email to the hotel. For some reason, this freaked out The Ocean Resort Hotel. They sent me 3 emails scolding me for sending them inappropriate emails (of course I never sent them any). and 2 threatening emails saying I would incur a $50 penalty if I dared check in early! I consider this to be very obnoxious customer service.

I liked the location. It was on the boardwalk, oceanview, and it was right across the street from a pizzeria and a souvenir shop. It was adequate for my stay there.

I did not like the fact that I could not park onsite. When I pay for a hotel room, I expect to be able to park onsite. With this hotel, I had to park in their satellite lot, which was behind the souvenir shop across the street from the hotel.

The pool area was always full of sand even in the pool area always seemed to be a mess and uninviting During check in was informed of housekeeping for guest staying 5 days if I wanted service I had to let front desk know by 11am but upon arrival to the room there was one wash cloth 2 towels 2 hand towels for two ppl for 5 days had to search out a housekeeper to ask for more towels Also the back of the drapes were filled with mold, I get the humidity and ocean air and air conditioner creates mold but they should be dealt with after every guest check out

Staff were courteous and professional as well as friendly. The room was adequate for our needs and the beds were very comfortable. The elevators were working well during our stay, only one minor glitch with one of the two. Ice machine on our floor worked great. This was our second year staying at this property for Neptune Boardwalk Weekend and we would stay here again. The prices for oceanfront rooms have increased dramatically but this hotel continues to provide good value. Parking is included, unlike many others that charge extra for on site parking. Oh, did not see ANY bugs! +++

Lack of privacy on the balcony because the walls between rooms were part wall, part railing, so we could easily see our neighbors and they could see us. Obviously nothing can be done about that and certainly not a deal breaker. Would have been nice to be able to leave car parked in lot beyond 12 pm on the day of departure since check-in isn't until 4 pm. Maybe consider extending that time until 2 pm in the future.

The location was great and the view was amazing. I will be staying there again very soon.

I didn't like that I couldn't smoke on the balcony.
