I absolutely loved the location, especially the breakfast area, which offers a breathtaking view—truly the most magical setting. While the food was decent, there’s definitely room for improvement. That said, the overall experience was delightful.

What I didn’t like was how cold my room was; I’m not sure if the heater was functioning properly. I really wish the staff had been more attentive and empathetic in ensuring the room was at a comfortable temperature for their guests.

This hotel was beautiful! It was perfectly located inside of historic Rothenburg, a very convenient walk to everything! The hotel had lots of charm, with lots of areas to gather with groups including a game room (perfect for the kids!), downstairs, and upstairs sitting areas. The breakfast was very nice and had lots of options. The staff was VERY friendly and accommodating! The rooms, while beautifully decorated and full of character, had beds that were not very comfortable. Not all rooms have AC, so be sure to book one with it if desired. Another huge bonus for this hotel is a hotel only parking lot for eleven euros per night, which made traveling to the hotel via car very easy. Overall, this was a wonderful hotel and a great experience! Worth the stay- just not the most comfortable beds!

The hotel is absolutely beautiful. It's right in the middle of Rothenburg and you could just step out in the evening and enjoy the city (once the tourist buses have left ;) ) The room was very ample and comfortable for the three of us. The staff were very nice and helpful. The breakfast room has a fantastic view.

The breakfast was ok, but by far not as good as many other hotels we stayed on this trip that were cheaper. Some breakfast items were not fresh. Parking is limited, but that is to be expected in Rothenburg. We actually parked outside the walls as we were light on luggage.

This was a very charming hotel in the most charming of Bavarian towns. It is located about 50m away from the historic Plönlein gate and tower, and this allowed us to get multiple photos with few or NO tourists around. Being built into the old wall of the town, the views over the valley from our room were special, and it was a very short walk to the main town square, Rathaus and other historic buildings. In fact it was possible to get to the city walls and walk on them within a very short time. The room was comfortable and reasonably sized, although there was no air-conditioning. The breakfast was included in our tariff, and was varied, healthy and filling. The breakfast room also had superb views over the walls to the valley below- Tip: go for a window or corner seat if possible.

Parking was tricky and we had some difficulty driving to the hotel, as car traffic is restricted in the Old Town; Once at the hotel though, the parking was very nearby; we did not need to use our car during our 3 day stay, so it was not a real problem. Although we didn't really need it during our stay, the lack of air conditioning could be a problem in high summer. There was no room safe for valuables, although we didn't feel unsafe or insecure.

We had asked for additional bed in the room but they had missed this out. Not sure why they only had 1 person working at the time, so we had to wait for a short while as she was with another client. Thereafter, my husband had to carry the bed frame/bed over from the storeroom and help in the set up. The room was a little musty, but with the air con on, it got better after a while. The shower wasn't the best. It was in the bathtub, which was hard for my elderly parents as they need to climb in/out. You have to hold onto the showerhead with 1 hand at all times, and without curtains, the floor got wet easily.

Perfect location! The hotel is very charming and romantic!! Lovely room, very spacious and with nice view over the Tauber river and valley Excellent breakfast, offering both quality and variety. Wonderful breakfast "salon" (the "blue room" is really gorgeous!! Private car parking at 50m! Good value for money!

The reception closes at 22:00. So if you want to return to hotel after that, you have to carry out the "key" (and it is very heavy to carry with you!!... old-fashion room key... I suggest hotel introduce a "keyboard" lock or magnetic card access to hotel exterior door!

Generally impressed with this hotel even before laying our heads down. The pre-visit communication from the hotel was very good and when we arrived someone came out and led us to the car park. The welcome was very friendly and the hotel felt comfortable and warm. Our room was a good size and comfortably furnished with plenty of electric sockets and lights. Everything worked well and there was a good shower in the bath. It couldn’t really be in a better location for walking around Rothenburg and though you have to pay for the parking it is very convenient to have. They have lounge areas and a chess set was available in one of them. There was a good choice of food at breakfast, cereals, fruit, dairy, ham, cooked eggs and a selection of juices. The dining room has a great view over the valley. There are no coffee making facilities in the room but the dining room machine was available to guests to make a drink which was a nice touch. All the staff seemed very friendly and helpful.

Having a room overlooking the main street was a little bit noisy at times, and the double glazing did not keep the noise out, but it was quiet at night.

Excellent location in Rothenburg. We've stayed in the town many times at different accommodations. On arrival, we were upgraded from a comfort double to double room with valley view, room 101. The radiator heat works quickly once you turn it on. Spacious room. Beautiful view. Loved the cheery & soft yellow bath towels. Hot shower & well planned, small bathroom with 2 drawers. Generous liquid soaps in the bathroom & heated towel bar. The mattress wasn’t as firm and sunk in a bit. Small espresso pod machine in room with welcome bottle of water. Breakfast had a nice spread of choices with excellent views over the valley. Friendly & helpful staff. Very clean hotel. Parking nearby is easy for a fee or the closest parking lot outside of the wall is Friedrich-Hörner-Weg 4 for 5.50€, 24 hours. Nearby is the restaurant Zür Holle in the town’s oldest building, highly recommend reserving a table.

The Hotel has an old world charm to it. It's rather large and grand and has been 'modernised' very well. It is a little dated but still very clean and functional. The location is great ! Inside the city walls and close to the market square is a plus. The staff is very knowledgeable of the city and provided great recommendations for dinner and attractions. The views from the 'Blue Terrace' breakfast room are wonderful and the breakfast is great too. Not sure what it's called but there was a 'breakfast slaw type salad' that was a very tasty surprise, wish I had the recipe ! Parking was close and somewhat secure. I didn't move the car during my 3 day stay !

Easy parking with a great location! The hotel is gorgeous! The breakfast room is very pleasant with a magical view! The room has very tall windows with a view of the beautiful streets of Rothenberg. Very clean!

We arrived early. We understood there was no early check-in but wanted to leave our luggage. There was nobody at the desk, just a note as to where to park and to ring a bell if more help was needed. We rang the bell and waited about 20 minutes and nobody came. It seemed the hotel was empty of any employees. All was good, we parked easily and left our luggage in the car. Just strange not one person was there. The hotel is beautifully old! The shower is in a very small tub, which is very high to get into with no bar to hold onto. I feel this would be hard for people to manage especially if you have issues with legs, feet, or balance.
