We were staying at Castle Comfort in order to attend a family wedding nearby. On the eve of our stay we were made aware of road closures in the area. On telephoning the hotel, staff went out of their way to send us alternative routes and communicate with the wedding venue to ensure we would reach our destination in a timely manner. Castle Comfort facilitated an early check in so we could get ready for the wedding in our rooms and asked several times if we needed anything. Breakfast was great with lots of choice, plenty of toast, coffee, croissants etc as well as cooked options. Very pleasant overnight stay.

We expected the Castle of Comfort to be a country house hotel, which it is not. It is a former pub set back from a fairly busy road. However, it has been beautifully converted into a most comfortable hotel with much thought having been put into every detail. The lounge bar is a pleasant place to sit after a day out. The dinner menu is interesting and the food is excellent. The swimming pool had closed for the winter but the grounds are pleasant. The staff were friendly and efficient. We stayed for three nights and would happily return.

We could not find any fault. The main road is a bit noisy but it is not a problem.

Friendly staff. Receptionist (Emily) helped resolve a booking and payment issues, which were caused by Booking.com. She also forwarded details of local taxi companies to me (thank you). From the time of our arrival, Sophie was very welcoming and also helpful throughout our stay (thank you). Our rooms were very comfortable, well cared for and clean. Overall, a great experience and we would certainly stay there again. Highly recommended.

Nothing immediate comes to mind ...

- Free secure car parking and plenty - Free upgrade to a bigger room, due to the hotel not being fully booked (very nice gesture from the hotel) - Beautiful gardens - Friendly welcoming staff - Clean bathroom and bedding - Tea and coffee making facilities - Dinner was surprisingly amazing, locally sourced produce, really nice selection of meals with good portion sizes.

- Ice machine didn't have any ice, so we had to have fridge cold drinks, unfortunately it was a hot day so they went warm very fast - Breakfast did disappoint. Unfortunately my scrambled eggs seemed to have been made in the microwave as they were so mushy and arrived swimming in water for the scrambled eggs with smoked salmon dish. Such a shame as my partner said his full English (locally sourced) was great. - The room was clean and tidy however I did pick up on dust in obvious places that should be cleaned. (TV remote, back of TV, drink making facilities, top of lamps/bulbs)

Everything about the Comfort hotel is in the title , it was absolutely fantastic experience and we did not want to leave . The room was beautiful with amazing original features . Food , service and attention to detail was fantastic , like proper butter with your breakfast… all the things you don’t get in most places , a warm welcome , like the whole place left me as if I’d been hugged by my favourite Aunty Xx thank you comfort castle inn , and the fact it is family run by sisters , and I went with my sister gives the whole place the family feel . The swimming pool was heated , so we had a dip , towels were also provided X

Very friendly and helpful staff. Good quality freshly cooked food. We were offered a free room upgrade. Plenty of extras in the bedroom. Good atmosphere - other guests prepared to talk to each other. Nice grounds. Plenty of parking.

Hotel is on a main road - makes it easy to find and, whilst road is quiet in the night, traffic does start early. Not a problem in the winter but could be at front of property if you need to keep the windows open. That's about it though, everything else positive.

Lovely character property. Comfy rooms, with traditional features with modern amenities. Lovely large shower and range of toiletries. Friendly and easy check in and check out. Very nice breakfast. Beautiful gardens to sit in and relax was an added bonus. Good parking available.

The only real negative was the road noise. As our room was at the front and the windows are single pane glass it was quite loud. Luckily at night the road did quieten down.

A gem of a hotel in a perfect location for exploring the delights of Somerset. Staff are all amazing and can't do enough to help. Comfy beds and rooms that have everything you'd expect and more including toiletries, gowns, hairdryer, tea, coffee, biscuits and sherry (replenished daily). Food is freshly prepared by the owner and is of a very high standard. Breakfast was included in the price but evening dinner is optional though I I would highly recommend you eat in at least once or twice during your stay. Spotlessly clean with lovely fresh tasteful decor.

Carol, who both runs the hotel and cooks, is incredibly good at every aspect of running a welcoming high-standard establishment, with all the finishing touches you could ask for – complimentary tea and cake when you arrive; welcoming sherry in the room; proper table linen. Plus she's both helpful and easy to deal with – particularly when it came to booking a reliable taxi service for our wedding venue trip. The staff are just lovely people, and the food we were given was tasty and well-presented, the wine good, and the cost very reasonable. We had one of the upstairs rooms in the older part of the property, and ours was both interesting and well appointed ... views in three directions, a comfortable bed and a great shower. The Castle of Comfort has a Grade II listing as a building – as a hotel and restaurant it's Grade 1*!

We booked for only two nights!

Clean, cosy, friendly and welcoming staff who were very attentive , breakfast was wonderful and location is beautiful. Just hope if the new owner makes any changes that they do it in keeping with the building and the already amazing atmosphere of the place. Also I hope the prices don't jump up to price us out of being able to stay again. A place I have past for years growing up and finally got to stay. We hope to see you all again soon. Keep doing what you are doing :-)

Nothing.
