Staff were super friendly & helpful. Car Park spacious & Pub was welcoming & warm - arrived during a Storm for 1 night only. Room was large & had everything- loved the flask for fresh milk - much better than plastic cartons. Few decorating issues could be touched up but nothing major. Shower was superb & good quality bath products provided. Only minor issue was Trickle vent open on window all night so hubby slept in draught- did not notice until early morning but as it was December was not expecting it to be open... Had evening meal & breakfast in pub. Usual pub food & waitress was very friendly & helpful. Would defo go back & recommend for a comfy stay.

Trickle vent left open in winter...

Very welcoming check-in and our room was superb with plenty space and plenty tea/coffee etc. Bed was very comfortable. The inclusive breakfast was excellent, quality content and great service When we checked in it was 19:30 so we booked a table in the restaurant - food was superb and service great - couldn't fault it. My wife and I were very pleased with our stay here - the room, the food, welcome and service. Hope to stay again.

Difficult place to find on a dark, rainy night - I don't think the hotel has been helped by council road closures and new house building. BUT MAKE THE EFFORT - IT WAS WORTH IT.

Stayed here with a group of friends. Service was exceptional. Staff member Mackenzie was stellar 💯 It's been a long time since I have been compelled to write a review regarding service while travelling. Mackenzie went above and beyond to look after us and ensure everything about our stay was great. Thank you and hugely appreciated Mackenzie 👏👏❤️ Hotel was excellent. Rooms were lovely. Well appointed. Welcoming. Flasks for fresh milk and radios were a nice touch. Restaurant and dining experience was faultless. Good menu choice. Lovely food. And again exceptional service from Mackenzie and his colleagues.

Location is convenient but requires a car if visiting. Good and ample parking.

We were checked in immediately in such a welcoming way, can't remember her name ( sorry ) but shes a credit to you. The first impression is so important and sets the tone of the whole stay, she nailed it. The room was perfect, every need thought of and totally clean. We slept very well due to zero noise from elsewhere. Breakfast was great because we were allowed to sit anywhere we liked and service was happy, relaxed but efficient. A very nice overnighter and we will return.

We ate in the restaurant and all enjoyed our meals. Table of 6. We would have ordered more courses/sides but the menu was written a bit over our heads so we didn't have the confidence to order more. A shame because we were wanting a celebratory feed!

Really nicely appointed Superior room. Very nice bar area and restaurant. Good menu. Dog friendly. Staff friendly and helpful

Its in a remote location, which is ok if you use it as a base to travel out from. Walking a dog along the country lane with no pavement is risky especially at night. There is a small grass area at the front of the building, but not large enough to exercise a dog. Some of the meals were missing items that were listed on the menu though when one was raised a free desert was granted.

The Bower is a little out of town, which made it quiet and easy for parking. The motorway is nearby but you can hardly hear it. The Inn itself is really quaint and staff were genuine and friendly. Our room had everything we needed for an overnight stay. I liked that we were offered a cooked breakfast of our choice, rather than a Continental one. I really enjoyed my dinner in the restaurant downstairs, so convenient.

Unfortunately there was a fire alarm in the night. Since there is no onsite manager and guests never read instructions for an emergency, there was confusion about how to proceed after we'd all assembled outside. Everyone was waiting for something to happen. One guest did ring management, and he arrived, which was reassuring. In the meantime, my husband silenced the alarm. I spoke with the day manager the next morning and they were already onto following up - so I hope that's happened!

Cosy inn with a lovely dining room and very friendly, helpful staff. Had an excellent breakfast - lots of variety - and loved the nice coffee and biscuits the room. Great, big shower as well. Very conveniently located for a stop off the M5.

While the room was comfortable and clean, it wasn't quite what we expected based on the pictures. A lampshade for the overhead light in room 2 would be nice - a bare light bulb is quite bright and not very aesthetically pleasing. Other than that nothing to fault!

First impressions were of a stunning property , the staff were immediately warm, welcoming and friendly. Whole atmosphere just delightful. Room exactly what we needed with lovely little extras such as the the Bramley toiletries, decent coffee in the room with cafetière and provision to unpack properly. Big fluffy pillows and John Lewis bedding just added to the feeling of a little bit of luxury for the same price I would have paid for a “chain motel “ where I certainly wouldn’t have woken up and looked out onto a garden absolutely full of roses ❤️

Friendly, helpful, accomadating staff. Warm,. Good temperature throughout, making stay very pleasant & reassuring to know that upon return from travels, we shall be greeted by a warm building & warmer staff. Good service. Excellent food Nice spacious room. Large well equipped bathroom.

Bed could have been more comfortable. Single beds in twin were surprisingly narrow. That said I am a big bloke of 6ft & 18st.. being disabled, I chose a twin for the extra room space. Definitely not a deal breaker. The answer to the questions, " would you stay again" big YES Would you reccomend the Bower inn, again a big YES.

Rooms were spacious and nice to see they all were unique. The location has a lovely homely, quaint feeling that you dont get in the big chain hotels. Food at dinner was lovely

hard to find due to road works in the area. would have been great to have some milk in the room already as i forgot to get some in the flask the night befoe so couldnt have my morning cuppa as needed to get dressed and check out didnt fancy going down in PJS to get milk first. uht cartons would have been fine
