Everything about my stay was perfect! I had the pleasure of staying at this property for 3 nights & everything from the room decor to the staff customer service was top quality. I decided to dine in the pub/restaurant the first evening I arrived & I was welcomed by a lovely staff member called Nicole. Nicole had a perfect mix of professionalism & just genuinely wanting me to enjoy my stay. I went for what Nicole recommended on the menu & it was honestly amazing (big thanks to the chefs). Throughout my whole stay the staff were friendly & willing to help with any of my questions or requests. The room was like a little slice of luxury & designed with such taste! Without a doubt I will stay here again if I am in the area. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Absolutely amazing little place. The little chalets out the back of the pub are so cute & comfortable!!! Had a really amazing & romantic stay. The power outage and the use of candles & the fire in the pub added to the romantic atmosphere!!! The shower is amazing with the choice of rainfall or regular head. The bed is super comfy. Love the little outdoor area that you can sit and have a drink or order food to your room. It was a bit cold for us to do that but was nice to have a private little area to sit. As it is a cricket themed pub, very much enjoyed all the cricket memorabilia and golf statues outside every room!! We had breakfast in the pub the next morning!! Either continental or hot breakfast menu choices. We went the full English & Vege breakfasts which were yummy!!! Again fire was going so it was lovely sitting by the fire to eat our breakfast before having to return to reality!!!

There was absolutely nothing that I didn't like!!! Except for the power outage which we weren't expecting but it turned out to add to the romantic atmosphere!!

Very comfortable/well appointed Bedroom/Cabin located at the rear of the garden adjacent to the car park. Exceptional Inn with a relaxed and informal atmosphere and friendly staff, we only booked for 1 night as a stopover but wished we had stayed longer. Evening Meal and Breakfast were both delicious and our dog Flora also enjoyed our stay and the local walks.

A shame that the £20 per night dog charge is not specified at the time of booking given that we only paid £85 for Bed & Breakfast. Also had we extended our stay the Gluten Free Food Options for my wife Michelle would have probably been exhausted (this could be overcome if frozen Gluten Free Bread/Rolls were stocked to enhance the menu options).

A lovely traditional pub with modern twists and decor. Great staff, from Paul, who greeted us so cheerfully, to Nicole who served us our scrummy supper, to Yvonne who served us our delicious breakfast and the lovely lady who was putting the finishing touches to our room when we arrived (early - they were very accommodating). From waterfall shower to hot water bottles, to coffee machine and fresh milk and water in a fridge in the room, it was all well thought out with guest comfort front and centre. Lovely chalet style buildings each with privacy thought about, very peaceful and a great night's sleep in comfy beds. They even have a happy hour (well, three and a half) which we made full use of!!

Nothing!!

I've never had such a good night sleep, not even at home and it's beautiful, you can tell they put a lot of effort in to keep the rooms clean, the staff was so loverly even though I only spoke with them briefly. I was chatting to 3 young girls that worked there when arrived as they wanted to say hello to my dalmatian. They was so welcoming and friendly and even recommended some food and made sure I felt comfortable to come to bar if I need anything at all.

Nothing, can't say enough good things about this place.

We had a wonderful stay in one of the chalets behind the pub. It was very well appointed - including a comfy bed and great shower, coffee and tea making facilities, outdoor seating. Really lovely place to stay within a well tended garden. The pub is very nice and quaint, with a large and beautiful beer garden that we’d love to return to in warmer weather. Food in the restaurant was excellent, as was the breakfast. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. Shout out to Kevin who looked after us very well. Overall really excellent value and would stay here again.

Nothing - it was all good

Lovely, quiet cabin. Everything you could need was in there, including toiletries and a fridge, which was a real bonus.. Our dog was even catered for. Drinking bowl outside and treats were left for him inside. The staff were all friendly and couldn't do enough for you..We only had breakfast there, but that was lovely with plenty of choice. We had an issue with our cabin not been cleaned one day. But when I mentioned this, someone came straight out and cleaned it. A member of staff even brought a meal out to the cabin for my husband! All in all, it was a great place to stay, with wonderful countryside and fantastic views, all close by for walking. We will definitely be returning..

Nothing..

The cabin was so comfortable and cosy! We had the best time, perfect for a one nights stay, with all the extra's you could possibly need! A coffee machine, hairdryer, iron, electric radiator, air con, lovely shower products and more :) A very spacious cabin for me and my partner with a lovely big bed... we enjoyed all parts of our stay. We booked in for dinner at the pub, the food and drinks were lovely, we sat there from around 6:30pm until 10pm, a very welcoming pub. Thanks for a great stay! :)

The cabins could have been a little more sound proofed! but apart from that nothing... the best cosy little one nights stay :) We have no complaints.

Only there for one night but would be a good base to explore the area. There are three cabins set around a small court at the rear of the pub garden. Surroundings could do with a tidy up, rank grass and branches. But a pleasant setting all the same. Pub has a good rep for it's food. Staff very helpful. Small fridge, no freezer but staff put our frozen items in their fridge. Plenty of tea/coffee supplied. Good walk-in shower, large bathroom, comfortable bed and good wifi. Outside furniture supplied to sit there with an evening beer. Car parking right there on site. We'd stay again for sure.

Not a thing.

Lovely country pub with excellent accommodation. The rooms are in separate individual lodges, each modern, clean and well-appointed with an iron, fan, hair dryer etc. Wifi is free. Rooms are quiet and well away from any noise from the pub. Staff are friendly, welcoming and helpful. The breakfast menu is excellent. The pub also serves meals and has a large beer garden. The pub name commemorates the founder of Lord's cricket ground who retired and is buried in the village.
