Such a lovely country retreat.. the pub is charming and really friendly staff, great atmosphere and food was great.. The room was country quirky, loved the exposed brick, stone and wood beams, and dark paintwork, and had a ground floor room with a barn door. Bathroom was lovely, great shower and lovely shower wash and toiletries. Freak cafeteria of coffee was a great touch.. was a perfect local night away to escape.. will definitely be back again..

No dislikes, loved it.. just one comment, the twin beds to make a double just needs zip mattresses or a topper, as we slept on one bed to avoid the gap.

This is an adorable in in a really peaceful location. Food was delicious, quiet and peaceful surroundings and comfy bed.

My only real complaint was that whoever designed the bathroom must have been a man because only someone with cropped hair and rain accessible private parts would ever think a top down shower without a hand held option for the shower head would be a good idea. Ended up not showering since there was no way I'd actually get my hair clean with only the top contraption, but well way to get it annoyingly half wet. A small bynote that has nothing to do with the in itself but it's located along adorable winding country lanes where unfortunately some of the locals drive like absolute hooligans.

The Woolpack Inn is a wonderful and authentic Inn. The location and facilities of the Inn were superb. Lots of parking space, easily reachable and with lovely terrace. The bar looked cozy and had tons of drinks and beers. We really enjoyed our breakfast, it was freshly made and a fine combination between a regular European breakfast and a British accent. What we also loved was the fact that all the produce and ingredients were (day) fresh, because you have to indicate which days you'd like to have breakfast. We didn't have dinner at the Woolpack Inn, however judging on the menu and how fresh the breakfast was, dinner promises to be good as well. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Fairly young and modern as well, which gave a nice vibe to the place. It seemed like there were interns at work as well, and they were treated with respect, humor and professionally, in order to have them learn and have fun at the same time. Wonderful to see and experience. We would definitely recommend the Woolpack Inn to friends and family and should we return to this part of the UK, we would definitely stay at the Woolpack Inn again.

If there would be one thing I'd have to nitpick on, that would be the noisiness of the room we stayed in. Particularly the flooring of the first floor. We stayed in a ground floor room and had guests above us with small children (or so it seemed), the walking around and talking etc. could be heard quite well and became a tad annoying at night. I can imagine this is hard to fix, however it is something that can be anticipated on when planning a stay.

Quality room, with great facilities, locally roasted coffee in the room. Enough fresh milk, which makes a great change from two little plastic pots that contain a thimbleful and no use to anyone. Breakfast, pre-ordered the night before, is delivered at the requested time and is full of quality products, local produce and there is also a selection of warm pastries, yoghurt, of top quality, and cereals. More roasted coffee on tap. Top notch place to stay. So good you shouldn't review it, then you can keep it a secret!

Staff were friendly, carried our bags to the room on arrival. Also were helpful when we had a drink in the evening and at breakfast & checkout.

It was difficult to contact them in advance, they didn't reply to voicemails or via the Booking.com contact facility. I wanted to check I had made the correct booking, luckily all was OK. One bedroom in the family suite smelled of damp, It only has a small, low window so probably doesn't get much sun. Could definitely do with a good airing and some sort of damp treatment.

Lovely cosy pub with excellent food. The rooms were really smart and tastefully decorated with feature exposed brick walls.

The exit sign over the door, situated at the foot of the bed, illuminated the whole room. Probably the fault of an over eager fire officer. We had to wrap my husband’s boxer shorts around the light to reduce the glare. Food was amazing but not cheap. For example £22 for a baked Camembert starter.

Location and parking excellent for Grange festival. Breakfast ok. - bacon hard and shrivelled, sausages very nice. A shortage on the toast front: I was not offered brown toast only thin white on first breakfast. and on the second breakfast no toast was offered ( but I didn't request any).

Quail: The green night light inside over the doorway was far too bright. I struggled to pile up the bedclothes to block it out of sight during the night.

Such a beautiful old pub (with an amazing looking restaurant which we sadly couldn’t try), absolutely lovely rooms, and wonderful staff. The breakfast was delicious and the staff were so patient with our children.

There was nothing at all we didn’t like. Our only slight bit of constructive feedback is that the master bed in our room (family room) needs a mattress topper as we could feel all the springs.

I chose this accommodation based on the reviews and it was a great choice! The place itself has got a lot of character, staff is very nice and the food is absolutely delicious! Well done to the chef! We had dinner and breakfast, I would go back again!

The emergency light in the bedroom on above the door and literally in front of my eyes when I was in bed (I am a light sleeper). Otherwise everything was perfectly fine.

We loved everything about The Woolpack, its cosy country pub feel, friendly staff, lovely rooms and fantastic food. We wanted to feel like we were miles away from everything but with a place nearby to walk the dog. Perfect little escape and will certainly return. Special thanks to Tori & Apple for all their help and making us feel so welcome.
