We stayed at the 3 bedroom villa with private pool. Excellent open space design with a lot of tasteful balinese details. I really loved the architecture and design of the place! Large bathrooms with large wardrobe and very large private pool. On site restaurant serves very tasteful food and all meals including breakfast can be served in the room. Breakfast a la carte with sufficient options and quantity. Very friendly staff. We also enjoyed lunch and dinner very much! Two very nice shared pools in the resort. The Spa is small, but private and very nice; very good massage. Gym basic and bit too hot. We enjoyed our stay very much despite some minus points and would recommend this resort.

- bit secluded from Ubud, due to trafgic much longer drive than expected, also not really walkable; - hotel offers shuttle service only 3 times a day and not in the evening, but arranged additional at extra charge; - out of a 4 night stay, private pool was not usable for 2 1/2 days, probably should not have been used the first days as well…; - lot of stairs to climb and longer walk from lobby to room, so maybe not recommendable for guests that might have trouble with such; - matress not too comfortable.

No information about walking or hiking routes. The beauty of Ubud is in the hidden green areas.

Honestly this is the best place I have ever stayed. So peaceful with the jungle backdrop. The set up it great - very relaxing with lots of privacy in your villa but with all the services of a top hotel; yoga, spa, pools, great restaurant, concierge to organise anything. The staff were amazing - could not do enough for you. Good value for the space and service you get. Most of the villas have their own pools so the main pools are super chilled. Really loved the design - everything was beautiful but above all comfortable. When we ate out we were actually disappointed we hadn’t just eaten at the hotel. The breakfast was great and included in the room rate - served 7am - 11am and al a carte. We also did the cookery class which was super.

From first arriving, The Purist villas are all class! We were greeted by friendly staff and then given a tour around the property by operations manager Sudarma. He was extremely knowledgable and kind, and very proud of the Purist villas , rightfully so! We stayed in Bamboo 2 villa. What a beautiful, restful villa, and so huge! The pool and outdoor area is quite big for a private pool villa. The bathroom and dressing room area is expansive with all the bits and pieces you might need. The breakfasts at Balisimo cafe were fantastic! Beautiful, friendly staff and caters for all dietary needs We also had quite a few dinners delivered room service, what a treat! Again great selection and quality I can’t say enough about the staff here! Every single person we met was engaging and friendly, they went out of their way to make us feel like treasured guests! Good WiFi and access to Netflix on a large TV in the villa , you can chill and watch from the bed 😁 The crew on reception are super helpful and will assist you organising anything you might need. They were so sweet and organised us a takeaway breakfast box and coffee when we left the villas at 3.30am to go up Mt Batur to see sunrise , I’ve never experienced this level of genuine care and service! To summarise, don’t hesitate! Book this beautiful villa now! You won’t regret it !! Thank you so so much The Purist Villas staff! You made our holiday in paradise perfect !

Everything was absolutely perfect! We stayed in the Hill Villa and it was beautiful! We were surrounded by tropical nature with a beautiful pool. Breakfast was marvellous, fresh and delicious! We thank the restaurant team for all the delicious breakfast,lunches and diners! We all had a massage at the spa and the team was very sweet. We highly recommend the “Chakra Dahra” massage, it is really worth it! It was definitely the best massage of our life. A big thanks to the reception team, we felt welcomed and taken care of from the beginning until the end, they made our first time in Bali so much more special than we expected, we have no words for it! Thank you so much for your professionalism but all also for your kindness. Special thanks to Joni and Mohammed for being so patient and caring during our tours! Thank you for sharing your culture and your knowledge with us it was great meeting you guys! Thank you The Purist for this amazing and unforgettable experience!

Beautiful hotel just a stones throw away from Ubud town centre. Despite being surrounded by rainforest the hotel was exceptionally clean and very few insect around - rare for Bali! The staff were all so lovely and friendly and helped to make the stay special. We loved the small touches like afternoon tea by the pool every day and the complimentary shuffle. We booked several excursions/transfers through the hotel too and the price was very reasonable for an upmarket property. We liked that it was slightly out of town but just worth noting that it’s a 20/25 minute walk into Ubud town centre. However this wasn’t a problem as the hotel offers a shuttle during the day and it’s easy to get a taxi/grab car from town in the evening.

Everything. We stayed in the Joglo villa and it was exceptional. I honestly cannot think of anything that would have improved it. It was one of the most beautiful places I have stayed at. I wish we could have stayed longer at the Purist (we stayed in three separate locations whilst in Bali). The Purist was by far the best. The staff were great about my daughter’s severe (life threatening) allergies and recognised the importance of careful food preparation. They even prepared some special dishes for her (coconut rice balls and also a dragon fruit sorbet) for the afternoon tea service. The food in general was exceptional and healthy. The beef rendang and nasi goreng (for breakfast) was perfect. I also had one of the best massages of my life at the Purist Spa. I honestly could not find any negatives about our experience at the Purist.

Wow!!! This was just heaven. This boutique hotel is on point in every sense of the word. There are only 18 rooms/villas but the attention we get from the staff is second to none. You can just stay in and breathe in the beauty of this place. The manager Mr. Sudrama was highly professional highly committed in making every customer experience nothing but perfect. My hat's off to you Mr. Sudrama for running this place. We can't thank you enough for your kindness and eagerness to please every hotel customer. Also, Aris from the lobby was very professional and friendly. The staff at the restaurants they would actually call you with your name from the first day. I, we, def will come again and thank you for making this trip to remember!

We stayed in the Hill Pool Villa for 8 nights and honestly it was unbelievable. The villa was huge with its own pool. It was so quiet and secluded you wouldn’t think this was even there. The grounds of the hotel were so clean and beautiful. We visited the spa for a facial and massage and that was also fantastic. The food in the restaurant was delicious. You get breakfast and an afternoon tea in with the price. The hotel is 2 hours from the airport but we arranged for their driver to collect us and he was already waiting for us when we landed. We went on a few trips booked by the reception and everything was organised for us. Honestly we cannot recommend the Purist highly enough. We will be back!

The only complaint, which shouldn’t be a complaint really as it’s the insects country, but we got badly bitten by mosquitos even though we used spray and creams as repellents.

Staff are nice, attentive. One of them is very well known of the culture which is very experience for us to learn about those things. The design is very local. The patio is very nice for lying down or just relax. The view is nice. The cooking class is very nice exp with good food. We choose fish which are very tasty dish. My older daughter realy like it. Breakfast is good but quite limited choice.

The lighting in the room is dark, luckily I have extra light. The downstair aircon go straight to the bed, which is very easy to get a cold, however the room is quite humid at night so if I turn air con off its very humid. The daytime its ok. The pool water is cold. My kid did not swim much because of it.
