The room was lovely - spacious, modern and with a very comfortable bed and a rocking chair. The bathroom was good too, and well equipped with toiletries. Staff are all very friendly and helpful, and there is a nice bar by the entrance. Secure off-street parking is available locally, and the hotel is very well-situated. The centre of Basel is an easy walk, and there are lots of good places to eat nearby. A transport card is included in the stay, allowing use of trains and buses locally too.

-- Distant from the train station: Be prepared for a walk to and from the station (20-30 minutes) -- Delayed housekeeping: Rooms for stay-over guests are cleaned last, with priority given to new guest check-ins, leading to a 5-6 hour delay for service. -- No free breakfast: Breakfast isn’t included, which might be a drawback for some guests.

the room and shower were so clean. the pillows were soft, so we asked them for a little harder pillow, and they gave us a very good pillow in a 2 minutes🥰 the bed was so comfortable, the size of the room was perfect, and the view was awesome👌 the resepction girls were so friendly and kind and helpful, espical thanks to vivi( I am not sure about the full name😒) she was soooo helpful and always happy to help you🌸🥰 and the best in this hotel was the breakfast👌👌 . the location was perfect, 1 minute walk to the bus and tram station, and also you can walk to the city centre within 15 minutes 👌🥰 Hope we can come to switzerland again and stay in this hotel again 🙏🥰🥰

The hotel is in an excellent location for exploring Basel. It is an easy walk to the historic centre along a beautiful street filled with interesting independent shops. It is also easy to travel around by bus and tram both of which stop a few steps away from the hotel and hotel stays come with a Basel Card which provides free travel on transport and discounted entry to museums. The staff were all very friendly and helpful - English is spoken and there is a nice little bar area offering a wide variety of drinks. Our room was large and comfortable. The bed was king size and also very comfortable. A good amount of storage is provided with a separate area for hanging bulky coats. Tea and coffee is provided and replenished daily. Bathroom was a reasonable size with a good shower. The room was cleaned every day.

There is a bit of noise from the road. It didn’t bother us too much but if you are a light sleeper that could be a problem Wi-Fi was sometimes weak.

Great location, easy to arrive from the train station, even by foot. Also from the hotel you can easily get to the city center by foot or nr.3 tram. The room was spacious with everything that you need. The beds are large and very comfortable, the staff was very nice and helpful. At the hotel you also have a fusball table, billiards and a gym which is quite in handy if you are coming here with friends and want to have some fun inside. Overall we loved staying here and we are certain what we will return to Basel and at this hotel.

The only downside at this hotel, if you can call it a downside, is that being so close to the city center it can be a bit noisy outside even at night, but the windows do isolate the sound as much as they can so it's not that bad and you can get a good night sleep.

All the staff from reception, cleaning and restaurant were friendly and helpful. The communication from the hotel was excellent and helped with recommendations for a restaurant to book a meal for my wife's birthday, the hotel also added an extra touch to the room to celebrate the birthday. It has an excellent location just opposite the old town entrance, and thanks to the hotel's website I found I had free travel on the buses and trams. This could be used as a airport transfer using the number 50 then 30 bus to the bus stop opposite the hotel. We would definitely stay again.

A very nice hotel with very friendly staff. I had a very comfortable stay at this hotel and felt very welcome. The room I got (which was an upgrade) was very large, comfortable and had all facilities one could want. The breakfast was also very good offering a nice view of the surroundings. Finally the (free) botantic gardens across the street are a nice place to start your day or take some time out.

Not much to dislike really. The location is a bit out of the way if you do not have a car, but there are good public transport options to the central station. There are also an hospital and fire station nearby meaning regular sirens (hardly noticable in the room).

The hotel is located next to the Old City Gate of Spalentor and the Botanical Garden of the University of Basel, with excellent scenery and good security. The staff's service is very good. Although the hotel is not big, the service is definitely four-star.

There is no attached restaurant, only a bar offering simple hot food (such as pizza) and drinks. The hotel is located near the University Hospital of Basel, so when an ambulance passes by, it is inevitable to hear the sound. Nonetheless, the hotel windows are well insulated and I was never woken up during my stay.

Upon arrival, we were greeted with that wonderful word “upgraded” - the receptionist was friendly, helpful & accommodating. The room was splendid, with a few luxury extras, like slippers & towelling robes. The shower was probably the most powerful we’ve experienced. The breakfast was varied & delicious and the hotel a 5 minute, easy walk from the old town, where a variety of restaurants offered lovely food and beverages. A highly recommended hotel - 5*

I do not know where to start as the location, the people, and the amenities were all fantastic! I cannot recommend this place enough. It is right opposite the Spalentor gate, which makes the old city so accessible! Tram and bus stops are diagonally opposite the hotel. SBB HB/ train station is a mere 10 minutes away by car/ taxi. The Basel University botanical garden is opposite the hotel and is a wonderful addition to the city sights. The room is spacious and has SUCH a comfortable bed and duvet. I had some great nights of peaceful sleep. Modern layout and bathroom amenities were plenty. My first room on the first floor faced the road but was still quiet at night; the second one faced the garden in front and was beautiful! There were also some complimentary fruits for me in the room. I loved the all-female staff team; very efficient and understanding. They are also helpful, responsive, and very sweet. Gave me lots of tips for restaurants and sights nearby. There was an issue with my room on my second night but the team gave me a different one the next morning, quelling all my concerns. Breakfast is on the top floor and starts at 7 on weekdays and 7:30 on weekends, staffed by kind women. Lovely delightful breakfast items.
