this was the third time we visited villa sonia in 7 years and we were so happy to see that they managed to keep the laid back vibe alive and the quality high. the staff members are so kind, gentle, happy to help amd welcoming. the garden is lovely, breakfast good, and the location on nyun kuning the best.

This was our second time staying at Villa Sonia, and once again, it exceeded all expectations! Our first visit was already unforgettable, as it was where I got engaged. Returning here brought back all those beautiful memories, and the staff made sure this stay was just as special. When we checked in, they surprised us with a stunning flower bath—such a thoughtful touch that made us feel truly welcome and cherished. The attention to detail and genuine hospitality from the team are unparalleled. The villa remains as serene and beautiful as ever, with its lush gardens, tranquil pools, and peaceful ambiance. It’s the perfect place to relax and reconnect with nature while still being close to Ubud’s cultural gems. The rooms was beautiful and spacious, the outdoor (covered) shower was very refreshing and great water pressure. The pool was very clean and never busy. The food was really tasty, especially the breakfast. Staff were always friendly. The location was perfect if you want lots of places to eat or drink nearby, especially cheap places! Also so close to the monkey forest that at the end of the road you see monkeys but at the resort you will be away from them.

Strangely the staff would call at odd hours asking when we would go to breakfast, we were informed when breakfast ended as we booked in, so I wish they had left it at that and if we missed it, we missed it. It's also worth noting that we did see some bugs, this is just part of having so many outdoor areas available and was totally fine, but if you have a fear of bugs, maybe not the place for you.

We are very happy with our stay in Villa Sonia. The staff is incredibly kind, and by sunset they will come to your room and place a device to get rid of bugs, so thanks to that we had none in the sleeping area. Also, the hotel is located in a quiet area, but still close to local restaurants and markets. And finally the restaurant is of very high quality at a good price, plus the included breakfast varies between days and allows you to try different balinese/indonesian quality food.

Monkey Forest south entrance is closed, you can only access it from the north.

This is no doubt one of the best hotels for our stay in Bali. I would give this hotel more than 10 stars if I can. We booked 5 rooms for our family of 10 people, including our parents and small kids from my brother's family. Everyone was so happy with everything the hotel has to offer, including the pool, the beautiful hotel ground, the breakfast, and the hotel staff. As avid gardeners, we really appreciate the the beautiful green vegetation within the hotel. We can't be happier with our rooms which are all spacious, have nice views of either the garden or the pool, and have very nice bathrooms. Just outside the hotel, there are many local restaurants and our favorite restaurant, which offers a great selection of food at a very fair price, is just right across the street. The hotel location is great. It's just a 10 min walk to central Ubud through the monkey forest.

We noticed hotel staff took a share of the ticket costs when they helped us arrange a ferry to Nusa Penida.

The property was beautiful, serene, and went above and beyond our expectations for our stay. The pools were wonderful, our room was spacious & the outdoor shower felt luxurious. Upon our arrival, there were flowers & a crib setup for our little one even though we hadn't asked for it specifically — above and beyond!! We were staying in the village for a training at Bumi Sehat and everything was walkable, the proximity to Nyuh Kuning was perfect, and when we return again... we definitely plan to stay again! Perfect spot for families with kids with so much outdoor space (we booked a garden suite) and my son LOVED the kitties so much.

The bathrooms got a bit stuffy, but nothing that opening the door couldn't help! We were vegan and didn't have many options in the included breakfast, but with Mama's just down the road (vegan croissants!) we didn't even ask for them to accommodate.

I had a private outdoor space with a small couch, a table with chairs and a beautiful Bali table. The entire place is done in good taste. I loved the outdoor shower and the bathtub. I had a bednet but did not need it. They took.care of.the mosquitos. Also the pool was a good size and attractive. The staff were very friendly and the wifi was very strong. I would totally return.

The coffee with breakfast was not.very good. But there was always fresh fruit and the buffet style breakfast changed every day.

We had such a nice time at villa Sonia. We stayed for 10 days with our 9 month old son in the villa which was perfect with a little kitchen to the side. Loads of space to play and crawl and he loved the little pond with some fish. The staff were amazing and so helpful and the location is great, tucked away from the hustle and Brussel of Ubud, near the Monkey Forrest and loads of great places to eat and have a coffee/drink. We also loved the big main pool and the dishes from. The restaurant are tasty. Thank you for making our stay so memorable.

A baby high chair for the restaurant would be helpful and maybe some more things for the kitchen so you can wash up easily.

Loved our stay at Villa Sonia. Not only is it in a perfect location with a huge choice of restaurants and cafes right at its door steps, its just a short walk to the Ubud main street markets as well. The staff here were really friendly and helpful. The rooms were a generous size and beautiful. Access to 2 pools and both are great. The greenery around the place is just amazing. The breakfast selection here not as huge as in other hotels but its was really enjoyable and sitting and overlooking the pool and the all the trees and plants, was bliss.

The bathroom is a really great size but there is no door and that was very uncomfortable.
