1. Though a secluded place, it's literally awesome 2. Perfect stay with nature and greenery 3. Very big double beds and excellent open bathrooms 4. Very well maintained property 5. Staff is excellent and very helpful 6. Food is exceptionally good 7. Massage was good, not great, but it was in the open and not closed doors. However, they gave the option to get the massage done in our rooms itself, which was a flexible choice.

1. Breakfast is not buffet type. They make you choose from their combo options. Portion size is not great. 2. Lighting in the room can be better 3. No refrigerator in the room

The food was delicious, particularly main courses and the rooms were nice and large and the hotel offered many free activities. We did yoga and trekking in the jungle. Shery was amazing with us!!! She ensured that our stay there was a really memorable one. Also great connection for work meetings.

The first night we slept really bad because a gecko was right above our room and made lot’s ot noise. But solution was great: we were inmediately changed rooms and told that next time we could just call during the night as there is always someone at reception and could have been dealt immediately.

It was a lovely quiet location. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They took their time to answer any questions help help with tourist info/bookings. And the food was great!

We had a very pleasant stay, but the quality of the service, decor and facilities were not 4 star standard (bleach stained towels, grimey sun lounge cushions, inconsistent service/standard with daily room clean, stained lampshades, room safe not working,, etc). We booked with a discount, so we weren't massively bothered by these things, however, if we had paid full price, I probably wouldn't have been happy. It's listed as 4 star, and while it looks nice, don't expect European 4 star standard.

Our stay at Mesare was heavenly! Beautiful, tranquil setting in a lush, green jungle type setting. The design and layout of the entire resort and its location, immersed in nature and in amongst the lush green trees and foliage, and the delightful sounds and sights of nature everywhere, were an absolute highlight for my parents, and my husband and I. We all had the loveliest time at Mesare. Thank you again to Shery for being such a star arranging transfers and everything we needed whilst there (mentioned in greater detail in another review) - we booked 2 x Jahe rooms. One for my husband and I and one for my parents. I also only have great things to say about the restaurant staff. Komang (Indra) and Kadek were our waiters most of the time and they were fantastic. Always obliging and smiling. They really helped make our stay a memorable one. (including serving us coffee and breakfast super early on our last morning). The menu has a great variety to choose from and the food was great (lovely breakfast choices too!) Putu, our driver, was also great with taxi rides and a tour of the West coast (I recommend you go early, before too many day trippers arrive from Bali). The gardens and grounds are so lush and beautiful and well kept too ...thanks must also go to the grounds and garden staff for keeping it all looking so pristine and beautiful. We had the most relaxing, wonderful stay at Mesare. It was wonderful to be immersed in such natural beauty with all the warm, sunshiny personalities of all the lovely and hardworking staff making sure things run smoothly and guests have a great time. That includes the gentlemen who help cart heavy luggage to and from the villas so willingly. Thank you! Thank you all so very much! We see each and every one of you. And we hope we get to visit again soon!

It is challenging to distill the Mesare experience down to a few favourable points because it is so much more than that. The design and layout of the entire resort and its location, immersed in nature and in amongst the lush green trees and foliage, and the delightful sounds and sights of nature everywhere, were an absolute highlight for my parents, and my husband and I. The pool setting, the yoga shala (also used for massages) were sublime. The villas are beautifully appointed, surrounded by trees, with an amazing outdoor shower. The views and tranquillity were just what we needed to unplug from the crazy world and reconnect again with what's most important...and this is where the people, the lovely staff at Mesare, play such a valuable and crucial role. What we love most about Bali are the friendly, helpful, positive, smiling personalities and people ...and Mesare's staff have all of this in bucket loads. Shery was our first point of contact, helping to arrange our transfers from the harbour, and she was the consummate professional throughout our stay (invaluable suggestions for trips and taxis, and timings, and ensuring smooth overall running for all the bookings and everything we wanted to fit in). She is also the loveliest person, and always professional and polite. She insisted we get breakfast on our last morning before we left, despite our early departure for the harbour.Very grateful for that too - thank you Shery and team! Her team mates at front of house /reception ...Ayu and Krisna were also wonderful (always so happy to help and ensure we had everything we needed). I cant remember all the lovely masseuse's names who did all of our massages, but my massage was hands down, without a doubt the best massage I have had in 20 years. Ive had a shoulder/arm issue/niggle for a year, which melted away during that massage. Wish Id had time for another one! I also only have great things to say about the restaurant staff.

We loved the location of the resort which is in the middle of the island so you can get to the north or south beaches in the same distance. The pool was amazing and the surrounding jungles as well. Staff was friendly and our bed was comfortable :)

Our room could have used a bit of a deep clean - when we checked in I had a feeling the room was cleaned after the previous guests checked out and there was a space of days between our check in. There was definitely a stale smell in the room as well. The room also had ants which I think it’s quite normal given the location. And we wish we had teas in the room (there was only coffee).

The hotel offers good value for money. We spent a week here and found it very relaxing, more so than anywhere else in Bali. They provide paid taxis and motorbikes for rent, and free afternoon tea with banana pancakes. The staff were kind, and most of the experience was pleasant.

The taxi service was problematic. On our first day, we waited in the rain for 30 minutes at the harbour with 20kg baggage, while many drivers tried to scam us, pretending to be from the hotel. Despite overpaying, other taxi services seemed like better options. On the last day, the hotel shuttle dropped us 200 metres from the harbour and did not assist with our baggage or boat tickets. Based on this, I do not recommend using the hotel’s taxi service.

Lovely resort in the center of Nusa Penida island, offering a thirty-minute scooter ride to all the island's attractions. The location is very secluded and intimate, just like the rooms. We stayed in a room overlooking the plantation, and the view from the window was truly fascinating, as if we were in the jungle. The bar/restaurant is of good quality. The included breakfast is very good, as are the dinner dishes. The staff is very accommodating, especially Ayu, who was very helpful and friendly, giving us great advice for our stay on the island. Excellent amenities, such as the option to rent scooters on-site and a yoga platform with a jungle view. Highly recommended.

Although the location allowed us to be about 30 minutes from all the best spots in Nusa Penida, it was equally isolated, with partially abandoned roads that were not easy to navigate, especially at night.

If you’re looking for a place with no crowds or tourists, this hotel is the perfect choice. It’s located in the heart of Nusa Penida and offers absolute tranquility. Despite being in the middle of the jungle, the bungalows are modern, equipped with Wi-Fi, hot water, electricity, and air conditioning. What impressed me most was the staff’s exceptional attitude. I was particularly pleased with Shery at the reception. She was always smiling, nothing was ever a problem, and she was incredibly helpful, providing advice and arranging everything I needed. Her approach made my stay even more enjoyable.

One thing to note is the semi-open bathroom, which might take some getting used to. Someone leaning over the wall could see you, and the bathroom often has lizards and insects. At night, I had to convince myself to go to the bathroom to avoid bugs flying into the room with the light on. But that’s part of the jungle experience.
