Well, everything was incredible. From the moment we booked the hotel to the moment we left, everything exceeded our expectations. This family-run hotel reached out to us after booking to confirm our stay (6+ months in advance). Upon arrival we were greeted by friendly smiles and very helpful tips on what to see and where to find things on Koh Tao. They sent us a message in the app with everything from viewpoints, restaurants, and local services we might be interested in. The room was very clean, the balcony had a nice cozy feel to it, and the laundry service offered was efficient. I can't speak highly enough about the cafe tied to the hotel. This entire hotel is family-run including the cafe. Their menu is excellent and offers a variety of homemade meals to cater to everyone. The food was fresh and the croissants...well, the croissants are some of the best we've ever had (especially the chocolate croissants)! Their location is ideal for couples or families looking to get away from the party beaches while still only being a 15 minute walk away from everything. Our 2 week trip across Thailand was made memorable largely from The Big Tree Boutique Hotel. If, and when, we come back I will certainly be staying here on Koh Tao.

The hotel is located beside the main road. While all the trees do a great job at keeping the area private, the noise is still loud at times. This didn't prove to be an issue though.

Cute and modern boutique, a nice change from the rustic beach huts we'd stayed in previously. Room was spacious and stylish. The little cafe is great, I really enjoyed the breakfast and ginger tea

The hotel is right on the main street in a walking distance to "city centre" of Koh Tao, yet it's hidden in its own jungle providing calm place to chill after spending the day on the island. The stuff was very nice and helpful, provided us with appreciated tips and motorbike rental or pier transfer (I do reccommend to get one from the hotel, because there's no Grab on the Island and the taxi at spot is ridicously expensive). The rooms are really nice and comfortable, we especially noticed - after sleeping at several places on our vacation - that this place has really good matress. You can also enjoy breakfast and other goods in hotel caffe which offers nice meals, good smoothies, cafe and even french pastries (that you wouldn't normally crave in Thailand, but smelling it during your stay, one does not resist). There is also clothing shop and amazing japanese restaurant with a hotel discount nearby (with plenty of vegetarian options). I'm glad we stayed here during our time on Koh Tao.

The big tree hotel was very cute and everybody working their was super sweet and helpful. The rooms are cute as well with a balcony (sometimes small little bugs get lost in the rooms but it's surrounded by nature)! The rooms were very clean. We were able to rent scooters and in the cafe that belonged to the hotel cafe and breakfast are amazing! You get 10% off if you sleep in the hotel. We extended our stay for one more need because my boyfriend got sick, that was no issue at all. They booked our ferry tickets and arranged taxis as well. Very lovely! It's next to a busy street but you don't really hear anything in the rooms.

Finding this level of nice hotel in Koh Tao was a bit of a challenge as the place is more geared towards backpackers with low to mid range, but I found this place and it was lovely. The location is perfect, although on the main road our rooms were on the back so it didn't bother us. The rooms were comfortable and spacious. Everything was done with great attention to detail. The place is in a complex with an ice cream shop, ramen noodle house and the hotel's own restaurant.

I think they could improve the seating options in the studio apartment. Outside there was just a hammock and chairs, when there was room for a couch. inside there was a wireframe couch which wasn't as comfortable as i would have liked.

While the hotel is located right next to the street it feels like stepping into a jungle (in a good sense) - there is so much lovely vegetation. The rooms are very clean and had a nice balcony overlooking the vegetation that was nice to chill on. The people in the reception are very friendly and there is a nice café attached to the hotel where you can eat breakfast and lunch. They close at around 5:30 PM. You can walk up the street to find several other options and there is a 7/11 just across the street.

Nothing in particular. It was sometimes a bit difficult to get a comfortable temperature for the shower but that’s it.

The hotel is super cute, the rooms are inside lots of trees and the atmosphere is so relaxing. The cafe is almost inside the hotel and the breakfast, lunch and drinks were amazing. The staff was so gentle and always available. They helped me a lot also with taxi service, motorbike renting, tips and so on.

At night we always found frogs close to our room door and it was a bit annoying. Geckos are frequently found here and there, as in all Thailand, and unfortunately we found one inside the room one night. It went out within a couple of minutes but for these reasons I gave 9/10.

I cannot fault this property at all. In 4 months of travelling Asia this is without a doubt the nicest hotel we have ever stayed in! We booked the apartment and felt like we were in a luxury treehouse, the view from our room was just so many trees - so beautiful. The actual room was unbelievable, everything was so clean and finished to an incredibly high standard with really small wonderful finishing touches. The cleaners deserve their own review for how amazing they were! Every day they came in and cleaned the room perfectly, it always smelt so good and they even opening all our curtains and putting the curtain ties back on. The wifi was really good and the cafe downstairs was delicious and Big Tree customers get 10% off. The hotel offer laundry for the same price as everywhere else and it’s delivered to your room the next day. We also rented bikes with no issues and the hotel gave us so many great recommendations for food and activities. Overall the whole stay was just so luxurious, comfortable and calm. The location is fantastic, around a 10 minute walk to the main area of Tao if you’re a fast walker. Tjere is a small french bulldog who belongs to one of the staff but its very friendly (I’m scared of dogs and was a bit apprehensive but it’s a lovely little dog) Thank you so much!

Lovely, friendly, helpful staff, cute cafe with good food (especially the local menu!). Rooms were clean, comfortable, and decorated nicely. The location is great, we hired a scooter through the hotel for a few hundred bhat a day and rode down to Ban's on it every day which takes less than 10 minutes. It's a good spot to explore not only Sairee beach but the other parts of the island. The hotel provided wraps/towels for taking to the beach separate to our room towels which was great too. All in all a really nice stay, and can recommend it to anyone looking for a calm spot that is still fairly centrally located. They also gave a great list of recommendations.
