Check-in was fast, and the room was spacious and clean. There was a king-sized bed. Staff both in the evening and morning were friendly and professional. Unfortunately, I had to leave before breakfast but managed to get some cereal etc to take-away. The complimentary luxury coffee and a free beer in the room was a nice touch. The room was themed in quite an old pub style with a modern twist. It had a natural boutique feel.

I have tried really hard to find things wrong with this place but I really have struggled to. Some might complain the TV was small, but it was adequate. Half of the pillows were on the budget side but the other half were fine.

The nicest stay I've had in a long time. We were met by lovely smiley staff, who were professional and accommodating. The car park was full, and there was a local music festival on, but you wouldn't have guessed from the service. We started with some cocktails, coffees and lunch. All were fab. The food came really quickly, and the plates were a good size. Our room was lovely, the shower was powerful and streight forward to use. The only reason I put 4/5 for facilities was because the bedside lamps didn't work. I personally would use a lamp when going to bed over the main light, but everything else was perfect. There was complimentary coffees and tea in the room which was really appreciated. It wasn't basic coffee either, which made our morning. Breakfast was included, and it was the best free breakfast I've had. I would stay here again, recommend anyone and I will be using it for business trips if needed in the future. Thank you for a brilliant stay. Please pass on my gratitude to staff, it makes a huge difference to be served by happy faces.

Plenty of car parking with bays which would accommodate the largest SUV. The hotel was very nice, checking in was very efficient, all of the staff were friendly and attentive. We did not use the restaurant in the evening but the breakfast next morning was very good, served by a very friendly and efficient waitress. There was a good selection of cereals , juices etc. The full English breakfast was well cooked and made with quality ingredients. The pain au chocolat were irresistible.

During our short stay the only thing we found was the hot tap in the bathroom was missing the cap which whould have identified it as hot. No real issue as the cold tap was clearly marked.

We recently had the pleasure of staying at the Hinds Head, a charming historic country pub hotel situated only a short distance outside of Reading. The pub has a timeless elegance with original features that create a cosy atmosphere. The room was a blend of old-world and funky modern comfort. The staff were friendly and attentive and we enjoyed a wonderful breakfast. We will definitely consider booking again, although hopefully for a holiday next time rather than for business.

Lovely old building. Friendly, helpful staff. We had a power cut while we were getting ready for a wedding party and they brought up to the room several candles for us.

Location, we had a wedding 6 miles away and our quote for a return trip was £90. The taxis have to come from Newbury or Reading Our room was nice and comfy, clean. We weren’t keen on the decor and the bathroom was very small. The breakfast was good but with a lot of self serve ( drinks and toast ) which, for us, spoils the experience.

Superb breakfast. Freshly cooked with good choices. The room we stayed in was a junior suite which is in the original part of the building. As such it had original floors and walls. The floorboards squeeked and sloped. Which we had no issues with and added to the charm. The room was well equipped with a large en suite and coffee machine. There had been an error on booking caused by Booking.Com which the hotel were happy to honour. Which we thought was very good of them. All the staff we met were friendly. We would highly recommend the hotel.

We stayed at the Hinds Head the night before attending a wedding. Location was perfect, just down the road. The service we received was excellent, super friendly staff. We were upgraded due to the room we booked had no access to open the window and it was a super hot weekend, so that was a lovely surprise! Our room was gorgeous we loved all the little extras, including a fan which was 100% needed. We also had dinner in restaurant which was also superb!

Dinner was excellent but I did feel the wine was over priced, £10 for a glass of wine is a lot.

Generally a pleasant stay. Lovely old building. Nice terrace area for drinks.

We wanted a night cap after we returned from our evening out. 10.50pm. Bar closed 5 mins before! The staff who were sat outside refused as they had cashed up. However we could have paid in the morning along with everything else. Very poor. Breakfast was serve yourself even the hot drinks. The water is never boiling in a flask so tea was lukewarm. Surely staff could serve drinks and toast. Cooked breakfast was good.

Overall our stay was great. We adored the interior of the room it felt luxury/country chic. We had a great stay overall and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was great.

We were woken up by an alarm late at night that went off for around 20x minutes. We did explore this and due to everyone leaving the site a night porter may have been there and sorted it eventually. One of the waiting staff started putting away the cutlery next to our table whilst we were having our final drink. She was making so much noise it was a little funny at first. It was incredibly uncomfortable after a while and we didn't feel we could say anything as we understood it was closing time shortly. It was so loud that I actually recorded it. However there is a time and place to do this sort of thing as someone who has worked in restaurants before. Other than that we did enjoy our stay it was just this that was a little frustrating for end of the evening drinks experience.

Lovely spacious room with a big comfy bed. We really appreciated the nespresso coffee machine and the bottle of beer in our room on arrival. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Great breakfast to. Thanks

There was nothing we didn't like, but the only suggestion I would make is that the bathroom was a bit tierd and ceiling could do with a paint.
