Three things that makes a good stay for me. Friendly staff - YES Clean - YES Comfortable - YES It's an older hotel & not exactly glamorous, but, the staff are friendly, it's warm clean and comfortable. The all you can eat breakfast was great! It's right on the beach, plus a bus stop, and dog friendly. Exactly what I wanted. I don't understand why people book a budget plage to stay and then mark it down low. If you want top class hotel, pay top dollar! More than happy with my stay. Had a lovely soak in bath & 9 hours sleep!

Accommodation had 24hr reception, which was a real bonus as was arriving on a very late ferry from Isle of Man. Easy to find (except for my sat nav!) - on seafront at Morecambe, so great location. Parking easy along seafront, although may be different in holiday times. Had a lift to all floors, so great for anyone with mobility problems. Lovely to have a bath & shower, as needed a long soak after tiring journey! Cooked breakfast was good start to day. Reception staff were great.

Walls of room seemed very thin, as could distinctly hear a person snoring in next room! Bathroom water waste disposal was very noisy. FIRE DOOR HELD OPEN BY FIRE EXTINGUISHER ON 3RD FLOOR!!!!

The location was good with a beach right outside of the hotel. There was a lift which was great. The room had solid furniture, nicely decorated, carpet, it was a twin, bathroom was okay, shower was very good with hot water and smellies provided, didn't have the tea, coffee etc as took my own. Welcomes dogs but it is £10 extra a night on top which is excessive one size fits all. A youtuber we follow had been in this exact room which I hadn't realised. We rewatched his video and it was not pleasant. The pillows had all been replaced, sadly the mattresses were the same ones, just flipped over. They have added a shower curtain. We did not have the same light so hope the curtains, carpets etc had a deep clean after his video. It was used for illegal migrants then it has reopened to the public.

I only realised when we entered the room that a youtuber we followed had been in that exact same room we were in! I said to watch his video again and it was not pleasant even though he said that he would return. I'm praying for example that the carpet and curtains had been cleaned. It had been used for housing illegal migrants which I had no knowledge of when we booked. Had we known it would have impacted on our decision, that being said we did book and we enjoyed our stay. I don't think the mattresses have been replaced which would make me say that although I enjoyed our stay, I wouldn't stay again. I have given a 9 based in the here and now and tried to be fair with my comments

Spotless room with an amazing view on 2nd floor. lift not working when we arrived but luggage was brought up to room by staff. Room was a little bit small but made up for by the fact that you could sit on the bed and look out over the bay. Good breakfast served but could have done with a bit more variety in continental section.

Room was not serviced during our 4 night stay. If you wanted tea, milk etc you had to ask for it at reception. Fortunately we always bring our own with us. Bin was not emptied so we put the full bag out in the corridor. Parking is on the road outside the hotel but it is free and not a problem. Disabled parking seems to be free everywhere in the Morecambe area.

My son and I were on a cycle ride along a route in our case finishing in Morecambe. I wanted a hotel that had security for our bikes. The Strathmore was perfect as they have a function room that they are not currently using so we were able to take our bikes in. Staff were very pleasant and rooms are clean and basic but functional.Location opposite the promenade overlooking the sea.Hotel was full which proves what good value it is.

Shower and en suite very dated , but a very old hotel and well kept considering the price. Breakfast was as good as we would expect for a budget hotel.

Helpful and accommodating front desk on arrival and departure; breakfast was largely self service buffet with cooked items kept warm but plentiful and a reasonable selection. Bedroom and en-suite shower room clean and comfortable with plenty of electricity sockets but searched in vain for a hairdryer. Not sure if the light above the entrance was working as it didn't come on when I flicked the associated switch.

Good to have off-street parking to the rear but the access to this could have been better maintained. Despite being a large hotel building it is operating as bed and breakfast only, fortunately there are good bar/pub/evening meal options within walking distance.

The welcome was exceptional. It was a home away from home. I was a bit worried as I travelled on my own with two children on the night of the Euro final. We got invited to the bar area and I was surprised I could bring the children. It was such a relaxing atmosphere and I was able to watch the whole game without any worries. The breakfast the next morning might not have looked like a 5-star one, but they were definitely the best Hash browns and the best scrambled egg I ever had in a hotel. Seriously, this hotel was a little gem with free parking and sea view.

I loved everything.

Nice breakfast Pleasant and helpful staff Location was fine walking distance to centre Good value for money

The hotel was having renovation going on which didn’t effect me Bathroom window was still to have curtains / blinds or frosted coating so it was a little inconvenience trying to use the bathroom in privacy While the rooms adjacent to me had no smoking or vaping on the doors someone next to me ( I think 318) was clearly smoking “weed” at various times of the day . I didn’t raise it didn’t want any grief but the staff must have smelt it on the corridor I certainly did and in my room
