It was close to the water so I could take a walk in the evening if I wanted to. The convenience of the Sandbar restaurant being right there was great because after a full day of activities, I can just go to my room and freshen up for a bit and not walk far for good food. There were also suggestions for near by restaurants that was walking distance. There was construction going on, but they were nice to give a bit of a discount for my stay.

Nothing much. It was a good stay, just needed to stay out near the air conditioner to cool off before going into bed, otherwise I stay hot for a while, but that’s a personal problem and not the property.

Best part is the very helpful and friendly front desk and restaurant staff. Also recommend you book your tours with the front desk, good tours at good prices. Booked a golf cart and delivery and return were direct to hotel at same prices as elsewhere. No issues with construction noise. Super convenient having a restaurant right there, and Palapa Bar is right there if you want something different.

In the triple room with a bunk above, hit my head a few times. Bathroom is good but minor point no hooks or rail to hang towels and clothes inside the bathroom. Due to construction not serving breakfast.

My partner and I loved our stay at Sandbar, we found the beds very comfortable and slept very well. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful and the restaurant area was lovely to hang out in. The food was also very good! The location is fab too, everything is very accessible.

The hostel was undergoing renovations, which was a little disruptive - there were workmen in the women’s bathroom the majority of our first couple of days there. We were made aware of this prior to arrival though, we’d love to stay again when the renovations are finished.

It's a hostel but also a home away from home. I stayed more than two weeks including a couple of days being sick with flu. The staff was nothing but helpful and kind, both at the reception and at the restaurant. The dorm wad the best I've been, with a shelve inside, personal light, two power outlets, hangers. Super comfy bed and pillows. It's like a pod so very private, including the curtain of course.

Sometimes things take a long time at the restaurant. I stayed during the rainy season so I thought it would be nice if there was some covered common space. But these are really minor issues.

Loved the curtained bed cubicles with power and lighting and hangers, good AC, nice storage and lockers, free water, bed was soft and comfortable, nice restaurant and bar below ... pool looked nice and clean and inviting for relaxing. Good social atmosphere with both travelers and locals. Beautiful waterfront property. For somewhat of a energetic feeling hostel and a lively central location, it was surprisingly quiet and made for a good sleep. Reception and check in staff was so very nice, friendly, and helpful. 5 stars to them. Internet coverage was quite good throughout the property and the rooms.

Bathrooms were quite dated and water pressure was low. There was pretty much zero water pressure and no hot water in the morning - but I had to leave very early so maybe it was not on at the time.

Perfect location close to water ferry. Restaurant on site. Grocery store close by. Tour and dive guides all around. Did I mention it is right on the beach. I was there for 7 nights so I had them do my laundry same day service. Nice swimming pool, common areas and a common kitchen. Staff worked hard to keep everything tidy. For me it was an easy comfortable vacation because everyone spoke English.

I thought the cost of the laundry was a bit pricey 25 Belize dollars. Not their fault but on windy days there was a lot of sand in the air.

Staff was very accommodating, respectful, and nice. Property was clean except for something being stored near the bench tables. Pool was great! Room and bathroom was kept clean! Restaurant/bar had great pizza and drinks, stayed open until midnight which was great on drunk nights!

It rained off and on for about 5 days and rain leaked into the room, it was cleaned up immediately by the front desk staff. Not a negative on the hostel but you may want to look into fixing the roof to mitigate any other leaks for your guests.
