Great river view and pool. Really nice room with comfortable beds and a clean bathroom. Spa available and great food. Not too crowded, the perfect location if you want to relax for a couple of days without moving too much around. This hotel is more to stay rather than to be used as a hub to move around the area. If you want to do that, better stay directly in Kanchanaburi. Bring a book and relax next to the pool.

The location. it is on the outskirts of Kanchanaburi so to get to town or any other activities, you need to pay a bit extra in taxis. Also, the English of the staff needs to improve a bit (for the price point I would expect that)

The pool is absolutely stunning! We had a magical time here, our room was quite, clean and super comfortable. The dinning area for dinner service down by the river was wonderful, the staff super attentive. Food was delicious for all meals. We enjoyed the massive spread for buffet breakfast and the helpful staff when planning day trips. The Spa was wonderful, I had a couple of really great massages, friendly staff and a clean comfortable environment. That pool though - if it wasn't so hot when we were there (April) I could have spent days hanging out there.

I can't fault anything from this resort. The only thing that was unfortunate was the time of year we visited. April is the hottest month and we were there right at the end of March, it was roasting! But obviously, The Royal River Kwai can do nothing about the weather.

Location is great but you need a taxi for everything. Is about 20min drive from Death Railway. Pool is really clean and deep too, it was always really quiet. Rooms were just what we needed, with a nice balcony. Clean and hygienic. Breakfast and dinner was excellent. The chef even made a vegetarian Pad Kra Pao for me. The Sawasdee cocktail is to die for.

Nothing really. My husband missed a gym but I was happy to have a few resting days for him. We also missed sleeping together in one bed.

Peaceful hotel - a great place to relax and chill out without a lot of noise. Perfect riverside location - if you get up early enough, you can watch kingfishers dive in and out of the trees to feed. Not too many people and food and beverage outlets closed at 10:00 PM, so no late night chaos. Highly recommended for a riverside getaway...

The pool is a decent size but there is no fitness centre, so swimming is the only exercise option.

Resort location beautiful on the River. Breakfast dining alfresco. Alfresco Bar/dining amazing. Very attentive staff. Nice surprise with outdoor vocalist each night. Outdoor gardens/pool well maintained.

The single bedding was quite firm. Bugs outside unfortunately, however, the Bar staff were quick to supply insect spray. Maybe the time of our visit contributed to the insects at dusk.

Good breakfast and very nice big pool with overall nice aspect on the river

Challenging to get a grab into city centre and the ‘taxi’ the hotel calls is a truck with benches in the back and double the price Hotel has long list of extra charges and breakages as others have mentioned. Have to prove yourself innocent rather than the other way round.

What a nice hotel, beautiful situated next to the river. Nice, clean bedrooms and a big pool. Restaurant was very good.

Hotel is bit remote, hard to take a taxi by yourself as there are hardly any in this area. So you are depending on hotel taxi. Pool is beautiful, but at the end of the day most people come back from day trips which makes it crowded and lack of sunbeds

Fabulous location, pool, gardens. Wonderful riverside restaurant for evening dining. Top quality, value for money, cuisine. Soft lighting under the trees, great musician providing relaxing background music, lovely waiters and staff generally. Good breakfast too

We stayed Friday to Monday but we were woken on Saturday and Sunday morning from 5h30 am for an hour of loud temple music coming from the other side of the River Kwai. Reception staff said this only happens at weekends but it’s a big problem for light sleepers like myself.

Truly amazing experience. We enjoyed every bit of it. Great facilities (spa, restaurant, pool), very tentative staff and quality of food great. Even enjoyed live subtle (not load as in most placed in Thailand) over dinner.

Honestly not much. Would certainly book again.

Excellent location right on the river, quiet and outside the centre but not too far away. There is a 7/11 ten minute walk away. The restaurant is fantastic. Pool amazing! Staff lovely.

Beds aren’t terrible but they were quite firm. The shower head is very low if you are tall.
