Good size room and bathroom. Nice and quiet despite proximity to hotel and highway. Inclusion of a washer and drier was a bonus and would be most welcome on longer stays. Handy kitchenette. The Shamrock hotel next door has excellent food, but booking is recommended. They were really busy even on a weekday.

Breakfast was included in room, but it was only a couple of bits of white bread to use in the toaster, a little tub of yogurt and a juice. There were a couple of small cereal packets on the counter and extra UHT milk (yuck) for it. It felt a bit minimal effort and reduced the overall positive impression rather than enhancing it.

Staff very friendly and welcoming. Rooms were way bigger than I expected and extremely clean, beds super comfy and nice touch with the complimentary continental breakfast. Loved the outlook from my little balcony. Nice and close to town and super handy having the pub and bistro next door where I had the best crispy altlantic salmon I've had in a long time. Will definitely be back!

There was nothing to dislike. My only drama was an ill fitted toilet roll holder that kept making the roll fall off and roll away. 🤣

The Shamrock is perfect for our needs to avoid needing to hire a car, the bistro next door has awesome food and the pool is great, and IGA/Coles not far to walk. Very clean, surprisingly quiet from traffic noise. The staff are all excellent, both in the hotel and in the bistro. Do keep your bistro receipt as they are incredibly popular and occasionally make a mistake (which is human, and the receipt helps sort things out super quick). I love staying here and will book again as I'm back in a few weeks.

The guest wifi constantly dropping out, verified by using an SSID signal strength measuring tool which shows they have quite a few wifi access points but when using laptop at the room's bench+chair the wifi was -88db or worse. Shamrock might consider doing an SSID site survey ensuring that the test location within the room is not outside on the balcony but inside at the provided bench.

I thought the little breakfast items were a fantastic idea. We loved being able to go straight to dinner at the adjoining club and we found the staff were super helpful. The rooms aren't super modern, but they are super clean and very roomy. The added bonus of a washer and drier in each room really helped. I really have no negatives to say about our stay

I don't know if I missed it in paperwork or something but there didn't seem to be a wifi connection. A minor inconvenience though.

Staff were friendly and efficient. Check in and check out was easy. Housekeeping were very friendly and accommodating. The room was large, well maintained and clean. A continental breakfast was supplied each morning (free). Free parking undercover. Pool area was lovely. For those who are inclined, there is a restaurant/hotel adjacent to the motel.

Although it was too hot to have the patio door open, it would have been good to have a screen for this so that you could open it when it cooled down.

We stayed at the Shamrock Gardens Motel for 4 nights. Excellent rooms, very spacious. Lovely kitchenette and surprise surprise a washing machine . WHAT A BONUS. Rooms are serviced everyday if this is what you want. Continental Breakfast included in our price. We attended a wedding at the location and this went so well .Staff at the motel and hotel went out of their way to make our stay pleasant Very quiet. Thank you. I certainly will be telling anybody travelling to or through Mackay that it is the best place to stay. Great meals in the restaurant.

Absolutely nothing that we didn't like👍 GREAT STAY

Breakfast included cereals, lovely juices, yogurt and bread to toast in room. We had to be out early each day and this was so convenient and enjoyable. Room was large and comfortable with fridge and small dining setting. Beds were very comfortable and servicing of rooms each day was excellent . Only shampoo and soaps supplied but I always bring my own travel size shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. Restaurant is at front of accomodation and meals were always good. A little on the pricy side but worth it. Staff there were friendly and helpful especially when they were booked out and we hadn't booked and they managed to fit us in somehow. There is a bus stop outside but you will need cash. The accomodation cost was very reasonable and the Shamrock will not disappoint.

We couldn't use balcony as smoking is still allowed on balconies and the people in next door room chain-smoked. Just bad luck for us I suppose but we were out and about most of the time. There was a problem trying to find a taxi or uber most of our stay. Waited for an hour for taxi at airport and waits for Ubers were 20 mins or more. Not sure if this is always like this but will book a car rental next time.

Having a washer and dryer was very welcome. The small courtyard area was pleasant and inviting enough to lure us outside for refreshments. The kitchen was very well appointed and the continental breakfast included was plenty to get us on the road again.

I had requested a ground floor room at least five weeks in advance but on arrival had been given a handicapped bathroom. I don’t like them as we neither need it nor do I appreciate the wet floor and shower curtain hugging my legs. The Motel was fully booked and unable to change rooms.

Best motel mattress and pillows I've encountered for a while made for a great night's sleep. Simple breakfast in our room made for an easy start to the day prior to attending our meetings.

Not a dislike just a suggestion, I would have liked the choice of a coffee pod machine coffee. I have stayed in motels with a cheaper nightly rate that have them so would be nice to see that upgrade here.

Reception staff were friendly and efficient during check in. Air conditioning worked great. Room was clean, Great fridge stocked with beverages. Beds were comfortable and the pool was great. Restaurant and staff was tops , and a Bottlo right there too. We were travelling from overseas so the washing machine and dryer in our room was very convenient.
